(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 7 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Multiple practitioners were arrested in Longshan Town by officers from the Zhangqiu District Police Department on the afternoon of August 1, 2025. The details are still being collected.
Mr. Han Wei was summoned by the Dongfeng Police Station on the morning of August 1, 2025. He went there, only to be arrested by three officers from the Tongzhou District Police Department in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. He was taken to Nantong and has been issued a formal arrest warrant.
Ms. Chen Yanqiu was sentenced to nine years by the Shuangqiao District Court in late May 2025. Her appeal case was scheduled to be heard by the Chengde City Intermediate Court on August 8, 2025.
An elderly practitioner Xie was harassed at home by Dongrong Police Station officers on July 18, 2025. They searched her home and attempted to take away some Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, but were stopped by Xie. They eventually confiscated a few CDs with Falun Gong information and blank notebook.
Ms. Wang Xinyan was released from Hebei Province Women’s Prison on July 6, 2025 after serving a five-year term.
After Ms. Wang Ping, 72, and Ms. Sun Yong, 77, each finished serving a one-year term in 2023 and 2024, respectively, they were placed under a three-year residential surveillance by Zhou Xiangdong, head of Xiling District Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Liu, in her 70s, was arrested in 2023 and detained for 15 days. She has also been placed under residential surveillance since and forced to report to the local community office every quarter.
