(Minghui.org) The 2025 Falun Dafa Cultivation Conference of Canada took place on July 12 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Over 1,300 practitioners from Canada and the United States listened to 18 practitioners share their cultivation experiences. They talked about how they improved themselves by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. By looking within to cultivate themselves and treating others well, they hope to stay diligent and walk the remaining path well.
During their opening remarks, the hosts said that experience-sharing conferences are sacred. With gratitude to Master Li, founder of Falun Dafa, they reminded practitioners to help each and improve together to welcome the new era.
The conference provided simultaneous translation in five languages: Chinese, English, French, Vietnamese, and Persian (Farsi). Several Canadian cities, including those in Western Canada, offered live broadcast of the conference with simultaneous translations in Chinese, English, and Vietnamese.

Practitioners talked about their cultivation.
Ms. Yang from Calgary talked about removing jealousy while selling tickets for the 2025 Shen Yun performances. Because both Calgary and Edmonton are located in Alberta and the theaters that hosted Shen Yun are essentially the same, they were grouped together on the same Shen Yun ticketing website, which meant that each city could view the status of the other. For a time, Ms. Yang was nervous because she felt the coordinator in Edmonton knew that ticket sales in Calgary were doing better than hers. Whenever she saw tickets sold in Edmonton, she hoped tickets would also sell in Calgary.
Ms. Yang knew this was jealousy but found it difficult to remove. “I even thought about asking if ticket sales for these two cities could be separated,” she recalled. “One of the practitioners responsible for online promotion reminded me this was an opportunity for me to remove my human notions. She said a practitioner has to improve in this area sooner or later.”
Ms. Yang repeatedly reminded herself to do better. She also spoke with the coordinator from Edmonton about helping each other and planning together. Over time she felt better, and the tickets in both cities were sold out. “I am thankful to Master Li for giving me this opportunity to identify my attachments and allowing us to help save people in these two cities,” she said.
Ms. Wang from Toronto told how she looked inward and recovered from a major car accident. In December 2024, she was hit by a car as she was walking home. When she regained consciousness, almost five hours had passed and she felt dizzy and nauseous and her head and ear hurt. She was bleeding, and her neck, shoulder, chest, right knee, and left leg also hurt. It felt as if she had broken bones.
With faith in Dafa and Master Li, Ms. Wang returned home and did not go to a doctor. She was able to do the sitting meditation for one hour and was later able to meditate for three hours. “My body relaxed and the pain lessened,” she said. “After I rested, I was able to meditate for two more hours and help with household chores.”
Ms. Wang also listened to Master’s audio lectures and read Dafa books. She recovered in a month and was grateful to Master Li for giving her a new life.
Looking within, Ms. Wang realized that such a major accident was not accidental. “I tend to complain and I have the mentality of struggling and jealousy. I also look down on others and am attached to showing off, zealotry, the pursuit of material interest, fame, and sentimentality. All these human notions are keeping me from cultivating better. I have to eliminate them.”
Ms. Wang again thanked Master Li for her quick recovery. She said her experience shows how great Falun Dafa is.
Tina, who began to practice Falun Dafa in May 2023, talked about helping collect signatures on a petition. She was having difficulty finishing her Ph.D. thesis. Realizing this could be connected to her cultivation, she decided to focus on collecting signatures that called for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa in China.
A practitioner suggested she collect signatures at her school. “I was hesitant at first because many people knew me. But I also came to understand this is an attachment, so I began to collect signatures on campus.”
When her xinxing improved, Tina said many people signed the petition and some of them sincerely thanked her for her effort. She felt encouraged and knew she’d done the right thing.
“During the process, I helped many professors to learn what is going on in China,” Tina said. “When I explained this to one professor, she was glad to sign the petition. When I came across another professor and told told her about my progress with my Ph.D. thesis, she was very happy. Although this professor initially hesitated to sign the petition, she saw the other professor’s name and agreed to sign, too.”
Melissa, a young practitioner in Toronto, shared how her cultivation improved while working on a media project. Sometimes she found the xinxing conflicts with other practitioners even harder than those she had with everyday people. This was because, when she interacted with an everyday person, she looked inward thoroughly. When she interacted with a practitioner, however, she expect the other person to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
When she mentioned this to another practitioner, she was asked if she looked within unconditionally. Melissa said she thought she did. The practitioner reminded her that wasn’t good enough, that one’s looking within truly has to be unconditional.
“This helped me a lot. Before, although I looked at myself to see where I could do better, I also complained about the other person. This even became a habit and it prevented me from improving,” she recalled.
Melissa complained to others how one practitioner hadn’t done something well with the project, and she gave many examples. Not long after that, during a group sharing, that practitioner described her physical and mental challenges during that time. She said she also had to face pressure from the project that she worked on. When Melissa heard that, she felt guilty and decided to do better and stop complaining.
