(Minghui.org) Two Pingdu City, Shandong Province, residents were arrested on June 19, 2025, after they were followed by two plainclothes officers at a community fair for distributing informational materials about their faith, Falun Gong.

According to an insider, the two officers followed and video-recorded Ms. Guo Xinxiang, 85, and Ms. Sui Guanghua, 78. When Ms. Guo’s daughter went to the fair to ask her to go home, the police arrested the daughter as well. Ms. Guo returned home in the evening with her daughter, without answering the police’s question as to where she got the Falun Gong materials.

Ms. Sui was held at the Zhugou Police Station overnight and transferred to the Pudong Detention Center the next day. Her incapacitated husband now has to fend for himself.

Ms. Sui’s Past Persecution

Prior to her latest arrest, Ms. Sui previously served two labor camp terms and a prison term totaling five years, for upholding her faith in Falun Gong.

Ms. Sui and two other practitioners, Ms. Li Jihua and Ms. Zhang Yuemei, went to the Guojiazhai Community Fair on July 5, 2007. Several plainclothes officers approached them, accused them of stealing their money, and beat them. The police took them to the Yunshan Police Station and then transferred them to the Pingdu Lockup that evening. After 13 days, alls the practitioners were taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term.

Ms. Sui was re-arrested on April 13, 2010, by two plainclothes officers from the Zhugou Police Station, while distributing Falun Gong materials at the Zhugou Community Fair. She was taken to the Pingdu Lockup in the afternoon and transferred to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp 15 days later on April 28 to serve another one-year term.

Ms. Sui was arrested one more time at the Zhugou Community Fair on April 4, 2012, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held at the Pingdu Lockup. Her family learned in November 2012 that she was sentenced to three years by the Pingdu City Court. She served time at the Shandong Province Women’s Prison. The police continued to harass her after she was released.

Ms. Sui and another practitioner Ms. Guo Xuanfang went to the nearby Yunshan Town on August 31, 2018 to raise awareness about the persecution. They were reported by a village official and arrested by officers from the Yunshan Town Police Station. Ms. Sui was released around 7:30 in the evening. Ms. Guo was terrified when the police took samples of her blood, and she was taken to the Pingdu Hospital for treatment.
