(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Zhao Ke from Xiaotian Village of Baigutun Town, Wuqing District was arrested at home by officers from the Baigutun Town Police Station and Wuqing District Police Department on the afternoon of May 26, 2025.
Three practitioners, including Ms. Li Huifang, Ms. Wei Liping and Ms. Liu Xinli, were arrested by officers from the Jinniushan Police Station in Xishi District on the afternoon of May 26, 2025, after they were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.
Ms. Gong Dianmei was harassed at home by Chen Xuezeng and Ma Qian from the Linqu County Police Department on the afternoon of May 9, 2025. Some of her Falun Gong pamphlets were confiscated.
Ms. Kong Xiulan, 86, was harassed at home on May 10, 2025, by officers from the Chunlei Police Station in Beilin District and staff members from the local community. They questioned Ms. Kong and also tried, unsuccessfully, to take away two Falun Gong books.
Ms. Cai Guifang, 80, was arrested by officers from the Xujia Town Police Station on May 20, 2025. Her home was ransacked. As she refused to sign the paperwork after being interrogated in the police station, the officers forcibly held her hand to fingerprint the transcript. She was released later that day.
Mr. Wang Guochen and his wife Ms. Wang Zhongxiang, both 71, were arrested at home in Ruide Residential Community at 7 a.m. on April 23, 2025, by officers from the Nong’an County Police Department. Mr. Wang has been detained since.
Ms. Meng, 75 and first name unknown, was also arrested. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was released later that day because she had an injury in her lower back and difficulty walking.
Four more practitioners, including Ms. Zhang Xiaoyan, 76, Mr. Wang Chengjiang, 75, Mr. Yu Yanfeng and his wife Ms. Liu Jing, were also arrested on April 23. Mr. Yu was released due to his high blood pressure. Ms. Zhang was released later that day. Ms. Liu has been detained since. Mr. Wang’s situation is unclear.
Ms. Bi Lilian, 84, from Liangshan Town of Liangping District, was arrested at home by over 20 officers around 8 a.m. on May 14, 2025. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated a computer, two printers, and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Bi was released at around 2 p.m. Two officers went to her home at 6 p.m. and demanded that she sign some documents, which she refused to do.
Ms. Li Manying’s husband received a harassing call from the Xiaonanxinbao Town Police Station at 8 p.m. on May 26, 2025, threatening that they would go to his home if he refused to send his wife’s photo to them.
