Once Jailed for 1.5 Years, Liaoning Woman Sentenced to Prison Again for Her Faith in Falun Gong

June 21, 2025 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) A Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province resident was arrested on April 12 or 13, 2025 for her faith in Falun Gong. Her lawyer recently learned from a local court that she had been sentenced to prison. He, however, was not told the exact jail term (which may be either 3 or 3.5 years). He was also denied visits with his client and told to wait until her prison transfer to see her.

This is not the first time that Ms. Wang Fengying has been targeted for her faith, which she credits for turning her from an unforgiving person to someone who is kind and tolerant. She was previously sentenced to one and a half years on July 5, 2018 (see the related report for details of that persecution episode). She was arrested again in early March 2022 and the police raided her home on March 7 that year when no one was around. They seized a large amount of valuables and later released her on bail.

Following her latest arrest, Ms. Wang’s husband, who is incapacitated due to a stroke, moved in with their son, who works in Beijing. The son was too busy with work to take good care of the older man and sent him to their hometown in Pingquan County, Hebei Province. A local practitioner there is now helping care for Ms. Wang’s husband.
