(Minghui.org) Ordered by the Liaoning Provincial Public Security Bureau, the police in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, arrested at least 36 Falun Gong practitioners in Jinzhou and its subordinate counties between June 2 and 3, 2025.
The police used various surveillance methods such as installing location tracking devices on the practitioners’ private cars and electric bikes or following them to monitor their daily activities, before conducting the arrests. Most of the practitioners were arrested at home. The confirmed 36 arrests to date include 14 practitioners in Linghai City, 8 in Beizhen City, 6 in Yi County, and 8 in Heishan County. The oldest is 88 years old.
Below is an overview of the arrests.
From 4:40 p.m. on June 2 to June 3, 2025, the police department and stations in Linghai City arrested 14 practitioners and ransacked their homes. The practitioners’ Falun Gong books, printers, laptops, and hard disks were confiscated. Even the couplets decorating their doors were torn down.
The arrested practitioners are: Ms. Fu Wenjie (66), Ms. Wang Hui (around40), Ms. Yu Aimin (60), Ms. Liang Jinjun (60), Mr. Liang (first name unknown and around 60), Mr. Jiang Nan (in his 50s), Ms. Lu Suping (Mr. Jiang’s mother in her 60s), Ms. Dong Li (in her 50s), Ms. Dai Yunzhen (in her 60s), Ms. Dai Yunjuan (in her 60s), Ms. Dai Yunqin (77), Ms. Hu Jie, Ms. Wang Yanjie, and Ms. Li Yujie.
Ms. Liang and Ms. Fu reported that they found monitoring devices installed on their cars at the end April 2025. Ms. Liang noticed plainclothes officers staked out near her home in late May 2025.
Ms. Dong, Ms. Li, and Ms. Dai Yunjuan were released that day, but the other eleven practitioners were detained.
Ms. Yu, Ms. Dai Yunzhen and her sister, Ms. Dai Yunjuan, were each given 10 days of administrative detention at the Jinzhou City Lockup.
Mr. Jiang is currently held at the Linghai City Detention Center, while his mother, Ms. Lu is at the Jinzhou City Detention Center.
In addition, Ms. Wang Hui was given 15 days of administrative detention; Ms. Liang and Mr. Liang (no relation) were given administrative detention of unknown length;Ms. Fu was put on criminal detention; and Ms. Hu’s and Ms. Wang Yanjie’s current situation is unknown.
For practitioners who were given criminal detention, the police submitted their cases to the Linghai City Procuratorate.
At 6 a.m. on June 3, 2025, police officers from the Lvyang Town Police Station, the Beizhen City Domestic Security Division, and the Jinzhou City Police Department arrested eight practitioners, according to a name list. The police planned these arrests for a very long time and the police in Beizhen City installed numerous surveillance cameras outside practitioners’ homes and in the Luyang Town market, where the practitioners went frequently to tell people about the persecution.
The eight practitioners are: Ms. Han Yanjie and her sister Ms. Han Yanwen, Ms. Zhang Man, Ms. Tian Guifen, Ms. Miao, Ms. Li Shuqing and two practitioners whose names weren’t known. Most of their Falun Gong books and cell phones were confiscated.
To date, Ms. Han Yanjie has been released, while Ms. Zhang was given 15 days of administrative detention. The other practitioners were given criminal detention. Ms. Tian is currently held at the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.
A ninth practitioner, Ms. Guo Yanli, was harassed at home on June 2, a day prior to the arrest, by the police from Goubangzi Town. They demanded to know her phone number and other personal information.
Six practitioners were arrested in Yi County on June 3, 2025. They are Ms. Wu Shimin, Ms. Zhao Xia, Mr. Zheng Baicheng, Ms. Yin Qun, a practitioner surnamed Yan, and another practitioner whose name isn’t known.
Ms. Yin was arrested at home at 5 a.m. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. The police has submitted her case to the procuratorate.
Eight practitioners in Heishan County, including Ms. Xu Yue, Ms. Zhang Yanxia, Mr. Wang Haihui, Mr. Gao Xiaohua, Ms. Sun Sulian, Ms. Niu Tong, Ms. Liu Yuzhen, Ms. Liu Suyuan (88), were arrested at home on the morning of June 3, 2025. A ninth practitioner was harassed.
Ms. Xu was about to leave her home at 8 a.m. when five police officers from the Heishan County police department, who were waiting outside, barged in and arrested her. They took her laptop and cell phone.
Between 9 to 10 a.m., Ms. Zhang, in her 50s, was arrested at home after the police broke into her place. They took her printer and supplies.
Ms. Xu and Ms. Zhang are currently held at the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.
Mr. Wang, in his 50s, was arrested at his rental apartment by officers from the Changxing Police Station. His laptop, printer, and various computer accessories that he sells in his business were confiscated. He was released the next day and now lives away from home to avoid further persecution.
Mr. Gao was arrested at her rental apartment by officers from Banlamen Police Station. She was released on June 4.
Ms. Sun, Ms. Niu, and Ms. Liu Yuzhen were taken to the Heishan City Police Department after their arrests. Their Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. They were released that day.
