(Minghui.org) After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to suppress Falun Dafa in 1999, the regime produced countless lies to defame the practice. Many practitioners were severely persecuted for their belief. Among them is Mei, who went to the provincial government to appeal for Falun Dafa shortly after the suppression started.

Mei has been constantly harassed by the township government and local Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC). They also instigated village officials to harass her. Some village Party secretaries followed orders, while others listened to their conscience and did not.

The first village Party secretary actively participated in the persecution as soon as he took office. He often led the village head to harass Mei’s family. “Falun Dafa helps people improve their mind nature. Master Li (founder of Falun Dafa) teaches us to be good people and better people such as good daughters-in-law, good wives and good mothers at home,” Mei told them. “Why do you harass us for being good people? I haven’t broken any laws.” The officials did not listen.

The Party secretary only served for one year. Local residents said that he did not do a good job and did not serve the people. During a meeting, the villagers set off firecrackers to drive the secretary off the stage. He experienced misfortune and lost his wife when he was middle aged.

After the second Party village secretary took office, he believed the CCP’s lies and monitored practitioners. He instigated Mei’s husband to divorce her and told her husband to watch her. He also sent the village security director to watch her. Even when she went out to buy groceries, the security director had to take her there, otherwise she was not allowed to go out. She had no freedom at all.

This Party secretary stepped down after only two years. He was in his fifties, in the prime of his life. He died suddenly in the restroom at work.

This secretary, who could not distinguish between good and evil while working for the CCP, not only harmed himself but also brought hardship to his younger brother. His brother relied on his powerful position and acted like a gangster in the village. He happened to be in the police station when Mei was arrested and brought there, and he said some slanderous words about Dafa. Mei warned him that doing so was not good for him, but he would not listen. He later got into a fight with some villagers, wounded someone with a bayonet, and was sentenced to ten years in prison.

After the third Party secretary took office, he cooperated with higher officials for his own selfish interests. Occasionally this secretary brought another official to harass Mei at home. In the end, he also met with consequences. After his younger brother passed away, he took more than 90,000 yuan of the land compensation his younger brother received. He was later reported by villagers and was sentenced to ten years in prison.

The village head has been in office for more than 20 years. Like the previous secretaries, he believed the CCP’s lies and actively persecuted practitioners. He had no scruples, and his bad character and behavior harmed himself and his two sons. Both sons were mentally ill. The second son died in his 30s. The older was involved in a car accident and became paralyzed. The village head died of cancer.

Then Wang, the fourth village Party secretary, took office. When the third secretary was in power, he sold land that belonged to the village office to Wang. Wang spent a lot of money to buy it and built a factory. He ran a factory in the village for many years and Mei worked for him, so Wang knew what kind of person she was. When higher officials asked him if Mei still practiced Falun Dafa, he protected her and was later rewarded. Some villagers sued him, claiming that he embezzled and occupied land that belonged to the village office, but the lawsuit failed. Wang served as secretary for ten years and eventually retired.

These events happened in my area. Because these officials made different choices, the results varied. I wrote these down because they are consistent with an old saying: good is rewarded with good, and bad deeds are punished. By being kind and being a truly good person, we will be blessed.
