(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners peacefully protested in front of the Chinese Embassy in Finland on April 17, 2025, to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. Two days later, on April 19, they held an event near the Kamppi shopping mall in the center of Helsinki, the capital, to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the April 25 appeal.

Practitioners held an event in Helsinki on April 19 to mark the April 25 appeal.
Practitioners introduced Falun Dafa, told people about the CCP’s 26-year-long persecution and called on the international community to pay attention to China’s human rights situation and support freedom of belief. The event drew many people who stopped and listened. After learning about the issue, people signed the petition calling to end the CCP’s persecution.
Roope read the display boards and said that, as a Christian, he was concerned about justice and human rights. He said people should not be persecuted because of their beliefs, that freedom of belief and human rights must be respected.
High school student Katarina said, “I believe such things do happen in China, but this is the first time I have heard of it.” When she heard about the CCP-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, she was appalled and said, “It’s so wrong and so sad.”
Another student, Wilma, said, “I’ve read a lot of books about China, such as how the CCP treats Uighurs, Tibetans, and ordinary citizens. I know very little about Falun Dafa, but I’d like to learn more.” She asked if Falun Dafa is practiced throughout China. A practitioner told her, “Yes, there are Falun Dafa practitioners in almost every county, and they are all targets for persecution.”

When she learned that there were three petitions—one to the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one to the G7+7 governments submitted by Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH), and one global petition calling for an end to the CCP—she said firmly, “As long as it is against the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa, I will sign it.”
After she signed, her friend Rosa said, “We know very little about what is happening in China. More and more Chinese are now leaving the country and sharing information, which is gratifying. Collecting signatures like this is also very good and can help people learn more.”
Luca, a tourist from Italy, stopped to look at the display boards while his mother read a flyer. The whole family was shocked to hear a practitioner’s explanation of the persecution. Luca said, “Thank you for letting us know about this important issue.”
Ella and her friends, all students from Sweden, read the display boards and signed the petitions. When they learned that some Falun Dafa practitioners in Finland had been persecuted when they were in China, they were deeply moved.
Three women from Germany, Lena, Merit, and Alina, wondered if they could sign since they were tourists. But after learning about the background of the signature campaign to stop the CCP’s forced organ harvesting, they signed all three petitions. They thanked practitioners for the information and the small origami lotus flowers they were given.
