(Minghui.org) Before Human Rights Day on December 10, 2025, several members of parliament expressed their support for Falun Gong practitioners. They also called for an international and independent investigation into the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong practitioners to end the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting that targets prisoners of conscience. They called on the international community to work together to stop these atrocities.

Jim Shannon MP, the Chair of the All-Party Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief, and his letter

The letter reads, “I wish to share my deep concerns about the systematic targeting and human rights violations against the Falun Gong in China, which have been taking place for over two decades. Tragically, the Falun Gong are facing increasing mass surveillance, torture, and arbitrary detention. Horrifically, credible reports have also emerged of live organ harvesting.

“Without consent, detainees have had vital organs such as their hearts, kidneys and livers removed - under the official and legal knowledge of the Chinese authorities. Falun Gong practitioners are subjected to coerced blood tests and other medical examinations. Converting detention centres into so-called ‘organ registries’ serves a dual purpose for the Chinese authorities: further suppressing Falun Gong practitioners while also creating a supply of organs that results in unusually short waiting times.

“Institutions such as the United Nations and the European Union have widely condemned the practice of organ harvesting, which targets ethnic and religious minority detainees. Despite widespread global condemnation, the Chinese Communist Party has continued this appalling practice and will continue to do so unless we take a collective stand against such blatant abuses of human rights.

“I urge you to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves - we must ensure that the CCP cannot act with impunity. We must also stand up for ethical transplant practices and help stop the forced organ harvesting of living prisoners of conscience in China by calling for international and independent investigations of the crimes committed against the Falun Gong practitioners. In addition, we have to ensure that instances of transnational repression are adequately addressed and investigated in the United Kingdom.”
