(Minghui.org) It was recently learned that a Wei County, Hebei Province resident was admitted to a prison in Shanxi Province on November 6, 2024 for her faith in Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang Xiuzhi was arrested on June 14, 2024, while distributing Falun Gong informational materials in neighboring Guangling County, Shanxi Province. She was taken to the Datong City Detention Center in Shanxi. It was learned in late December 2024 that she had been sentenced to three years and two months by a court in Datong and admitted to the Yuci Prison in Shanxi Province on November 6, 2024.

This is not the first time that Ms. Wang has been targeted by Shanxi police. She was previously arrested on August 14, 2023, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong materials in Guangling County. Chief Yang Fan of the Huquan Police Station in Guangling County led officers from the Nuanquan Police Station in Wei County and a few local village officials broke into her home that day and took her to the Datong City Second Lockup. She was not released until 15 days later.

A few other Wei County residents were also sentenced by courts in Datong City, Shanxi Province. Ms. Wang Jinxia and Mr. Tian Fuliang were arrested on October 26, 2021 and both sentenced to 7 months by the Yungang District Court in Datong City on April 27, 2022. Ms. Liu Suying was arrested on August 10, 2022 and later sentenced to 11 months in prison. Mr. Guo Yuanrong was secretly sentenced to two years in early 2023 and is serving time at the Qi County Prison in Shanxi Province.
