(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cai Zefang Sentenced to One and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Cai Zefang from Yingshan, is in her 80s, and was sentenced to one and a half years in prison around the 2023 Chinese New Year. She is currently serving time in the Gaoping Prison and is scheduled to be released in July 2024.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Jing and Ms. Wang Yinghua Detained

Ms. Yu Jing and Ms. Wang Yinghua were taken to the No. 11 Ward of Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on May 10, 2024. Ms. Yu was sentenced to four years and Ms. Wang to three and a half years by the Linghai City Court on December 22, 2023.

3. [Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wu Xiaojun Arrested and Detained

Mr. Wu Xiaojun was arrested at his workplace, the Shenmu City Railway North Station, on July 9, 2024. He was given a 15-day administrative detention and is currently being held at the Shenmu City Detention Center.

4. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Jia Shukun, Ms. Gao Genying, and Ms. Gao Baoxia, all from Haizhou Township, were arrested by officers from the Shandongtun Police Station on July 5, 2024 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Shandongdun Township. Their cases were later transferred to the Kangping Domestic Security Division. Ms. Jia and Ms. Gao were taken to the Zaohua Detention Center in Shenyang City on July 6, 2024. Ms. Gao was released on bail due to her poor health.

5. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Suhua and Bai Harassed

Ms. Zhang Suhua and Bai (gender and first name unknown) from Wudu Town were seen on a surveillance camera mailing letters about Falun Gong in June 2024. They were called to the police station for interrogation several times.

6. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Li Arrested

Ms. Jiang Li, of Fanjiashan Village, Beijingzi Town, Donggang City, was reported to the police for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong and arrested on July 2, 2024. She has since been released.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Xuemei Arrested and Detained

Ms. Han Xuemei, 62, was arrested by officers from the Gaoxin Police Station when talking to people about Falun Gong in Cuijiaji Market in Weicheng District on June 16, 2024. She was detained for eight days.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four elderly practitioners were arrested on July 9, 2024, including Ms. Yan Man, Ms. Sheng Guihua, Ms. Du Xianzhi, and Ms. Cao Zhenhua. They were placed under residential surveillance and released in the evening.

9. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. An Mingyu Arrested

Ms. An Mingyu was arrested on June 13, 2024.

10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Guifang Arrested

Ms. Wang Guifang was arrested at home by three officers at 7 am. on July 7, 2024. The police searched her home and attempted to take away her Falun Gong books, but Ms. Wang stopped them. Ms. Wang was taken to the Chengjiao Police Station for interrogation, and released later that day.

11. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners were arrested by officers in Jiangyuan District on the morning of July 10, 2024, including Ms. Gong Qiumin, Zhang Gongchang, Ms. Kong Qingju, and Ms. Xu Cuihua. Ms. Xu was released in the evening due to her health condition.

12. [Huili City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners were arrested and taken to the police department for interrogation around June 18, 2024. The practitioners included Ms. Cui Deli, Ms. Liu Zihui, Ms. Sheng Chaozhu, Ms. Tan Fang, and Ms. Zhang Yongqing. The police confiscated media players and Falun Gong books. The practitioners were released after being interrogated for several hours.

13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Guangjuan Develops High Blood Pressure While in Custody

Ms. Liu Guangjuan from Wanlong Township of Shuangcheng District was arrested by officers from the Wanlong Township Police Station on June 3, 2024. She has been detained in the Harbin City Detention Center. She has developed high blood pressure after weeks of detention.

14. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Meijuan and Ms. Wang Meixiang Harassed

Chen Dejie and Luan Ruihao from the Yunshan Town Police Station went to Ms. Li Meijuan’s home in Dongliuquan Village on the morning of June 26, 2024 and took a photo of Ms. Li. They then went to Ms. Wang Meixiang’s home. They tore off the couplet decoration she had on her front door.

15. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Jialan Harassed

Ms. Zhang Jialan’s home was ransacked by local officers on the afternoon of July 9, 2024. Her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated.

16. [Chishui City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Wang Zexuan and Mr. Liu Junmao Persecuted

Mr. Liu Junmao was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and Ms. Wang Zexian was sentenced to three years and three months, by the Zunyi City Court in late December 2023. Ms. Wang was transferred from the Zunyi City Third Detention Center to the Duyun Prison. Mr. Liu was detained in the Zunyi City First Detention Center. It’s not clear whether he had been transferred to the prison.
