(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners set up a booth in Bucharest’s shopping area, the Militari district on Saturday, March 16, 2024, to introduce Falun Dafa and raise awareness of the ongoing persecution in China.
The practitioners captured the attention of passersby with banners that have the principles of Falun Dafa—Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance—printed on them, as well as displays about how this peaceful practice has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for the past 24 years. Many people took fliers and expressed support for the unwavering faith of practitioners in China in the face of the egregious suppression.
Practitioners set up an information booth to tell people about the persecution in China.
Nițu Paula, a 66-year-old retired teacher noticed the beautiful music that accompanied the exercises. She watched the exercise demonstration for a long time before approaching practitioners to learn more about Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong).
She was moved by the principles of Falun Dafa and believed they could help her find peace in life. “I would like to practice as well, and I would like to get the book (Zhuan Falun) as everyone of us needs to release stress and negative energy.”
Retired teacher Nițu Paula is interested in reading Falun Dafa’s main book – Zhuan Falun.
When Nițu learned that practitioners in China are tortured for their beliefs, she was shocked and expressed her outrage at the CCP’s brutality.
“I am against violence first and foremost. I don’t agree with what’s happening there (in China). It’s inhuman, it’s upsetting,” she said. She wished to tell the practitioners in China to “be strong” in the face of the adversity.
“Under no circumstances should we be afraid of people. We should only be worried about the divine, ” said Nițu. “I suggest that [practitioners in China] should be victorious, that is, keep fighting and do not be afraid of persecution, and keep fighting for their right to uphold the truth, and seek justice for their faith.”
Before leaving, she took four fliers and lotus flowers which had Falun Dafa’s principles printed on them to give to her closest friends.
Two women in their 30s were pleasantly surprised that, “There is such a beneficial practice in Romania.” After inquiring where the practice site is, one of them said, “I understand that there must be a lot of energy where the exercises are done and one must feel great doing the exercises.”
They said they would definitely go to King Michael I Park, a practice site in Bucharest, to learn Falun Gong.
A mother and her three-year-old girl passed by the information booth. The woman said it was the first time she heard about Falun Dafa. She said, “It’s good because it brings moral values.”
She was sad to learn that a brutal persecution is taking place against people who are trying to improve their character. She said she, “Will definitely read more about both the practice and the persecution of practitioners in China.”
A mother and her daughter stopped and talked with practitioners to learn more about Falun Gong.
Many Romanians expressed sympathy for practitioners in China who are persecuted for their belief. They encouraged practitioners to continue upholding their faith.
Oana, 48, said she previously heard how the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa in China. She believes people around the world should come together to condemn this unjust persecution.
“It’s important for people to know what’s happening there and it’s also very important to do something to help these people. If a lot of opinions are collected to condemn China’s practices against Falun Dafa, maybe eventually everyone in the world will take action to stop [the persecution].”
Oana also hopes practitioners in China will not give up on their faith. “Good will prevail and the positive energy in the world will help them to keep going,” she said.
Elena Dobranici, 77 years old, thought the persecution in China was “inhumane.”
“It’s an ugly thing, ruthless thing, without any common sense. It’s something atheist communist followers are doing right now,” Elena said.
Elena Dobranici condemns the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
Elena said she will pray for the practitioners in China and also pray that the perpetrators “stop doing evil.”
“We pray for peace and harmony everywhere - in Romania, China and all parts of the world,” she said.
