Romania: Falun Dafa at VegFest in Bucharest

July 3, 2022 |   By practitioners in Romania

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners hosted a booth at the VegFest at Casa Universitarilor in Bucharest June 17-19, 2022. They held workshops to introduce people to the practice and demonstrated the exercises, with many people participating. Practitioners explained that cultivating Falun Dafa is based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to think of others first and become good people.

The VegFest event offered a wide range of educational options with discussion panels on ecology, sustainable development, and living a healthy lifestyle, covering topics ranging from leisure to nutrition. Falun Dafa fit right in with its health benefits and good moral values.

Falun Dafa’s workshop during the three-day event presented Petals of Peace, a project that invites people of all ages to fold a paper lotus flower as a gesture of peace and friendship to children less fortunate.

The practitioners offered informational leaflets about the practice of Falun Dafa, which included how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting it.

A practitioner was impressed by her interaction with two ladies who came to the event. One of them had been trying for a year to meditate and achieve a more peaceful state of mind but was not successful. She accepted the practitioner’s recommendations to be patient and persistent and suggestion that she join practitioners at their practice site. She was happy to receive a lotus flower from the practitioner.

Another woman who was interested in spirituality was very happy to learn about Falun Dafa and finally asked, a little embarrassed, if Falun Dafa would help her with a form of cancer she had. A practitioner suggested that she come to the practice site without any expectations and let things happen naturally.

Falun Dafa practitioners clarified the truth and provided informational leaflets and lotus flowers throughout the VegFest event.

Many people were interested in practicing, and some came to the practice site the next day to learn the exercises and meditation.

Some people had known about the persecution for a long time, but they stopped by the booth to get the most updated information.

A practitioner involved in the Petals of Peace project told about her interaction with the children: “I used to tell them that it is good to have Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance always in their hearts, to always speak the truth, not to lie, and to be kindhearted and good; to not only be patient with those around them and themselves, but also with the process itself of creating the origami flower. It was interesting how their faces lit up when they heard the principles.”

The young couple folded a lotus flower as a sign of support for the children who’ve lost their parents to this tyrannical communist regime.

Laura and her friends listened to stories of children losing their relatives on account of the persecution in China.

The teenagers were appalled that in a world that is considered civilized, such horrors still take place. One of them wondered how a regime could do this to its own people.

Luke was fascinated by the lotus flowers. He said they were very beautiful and he enjoyed making them.
