1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Yulian Taken to Prison

It was learned on July 4, 2022, that elderly Ms. Hu Yulian from the Ranghulu District was taken to the Harbin Women’s Prison on June 16.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Hongyang and Mr. Zhao Wei Officially Arrested

Ms. Ma Hongyang from Shenyang City and Mr. Zhao Wei from Hohhot City were officially arrested on July 1, 2022.

3. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Youtian Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Chen Youtian from Houzhuang Village, Taihe Town, Zichuan District, was sentenced to one year and six months in prison around April 2022. He was arrested by the police in the Boshan District while he was repairing his motorcycle at a motorcycle repair shop around November 20, 2021.

4. [Xian County, Hebei Province] Sun Shujie Arrested

Sun Shujie (gender unknown) was arrested on July 1, 2022. Further details are pending.

5. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Jinying Arrested

Ms. Yang Jinying, 79, from Huanggang Township, Huangchuan County, was arrested by officers, including You Wenjie from the Huanggang Township Police Station, around 7 a.m. on June 24, 2022. The police later took her to Xinyang City for a physical examination. She failed to pass it so no detention facility would take her. Ms. Yang went home around 8 p.m. that night. Her personal freedom has been restricted, and she is not allowed to go out.

6. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Gong Xueliang and Wife Ms. Wang Zhongqiong Will be Tried

The Criminal Division of the Shifang City Court notified Mr. Gong Xueliang, 85, and his wife Ms. Wang Zhongqiong, 82, that they would be tried in the court’s No. 1 Tribunal at 2:40 p.m. on July 8, 2022.

7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yao Peishan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yao Peishan was arrested in December 2021 and was held in a detention center. She was tried and sentenced to one year and six months in prison on June 27, 2022.

8. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Chengjie Tortured in Prison

Mr. Zhang Chengjie is being severely abused in Jinzhou Prison. Chili water was poured over him. He was strangled and violently beaten.

9. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiulin Arrested

Ms. Li Xiulin and other practitioners from Huaian County were stopped by a young man when they distributed Falun Gong materials at Daoxi Village in Xiwanbao Township on the afternoon of June 30, 2022. The young man called the police. Officers from Xiwanbao Township Police Station arrested Ms. Li and took her to the Domestic Security Division of the county police department.

She was taken to the police department’s underground interrogation room but refused to answer any questions. She was severely beaten by Ji Wanguang, head of the Domestic Security Division. The officers photographed her and confiscated her truth-clarification materials.

Around 3:30 p.m the officers through big data, identified Ms. Li. Through the system they found her address and ID card number, as well as her son’s identity and phone number. Without Ms. Li’s knowledge, the officers called her son and told him to come to the police department. At around 4 p.m. two plainclothes officers forced Ms. Li’s son to go to her home and they confiscated the New Year paintings displayed on the wall.

At 5 p.m. Ji Wanguang announced that Ms. Li would be detained for 15 days. Due to the pandemic, the detention center refused to accept her. She went home.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fan Lijie Held in Custody

Ms. Fan Lijie, around 50, from Dancheng Town, Shuangcheng District, was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 2, 2022. She was arrested by officers from the Hongqi Police Station. She is being held in the Yaziquan Detention Center.

11. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiurong Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiurong was clarifying the truth to someone on Renmin Road on the morning of July 2, 2022. The person called the police. She was arrested and taken to the Chengguan Police Station.

By noontime, the officers found Ms. Wang’s daughter-in-law, who opened the door of Ms. Wang’s home. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, Hong Yin II, Hong Yin VI, copies of Master’s lectures given in various places, more than twelve weekly publications, informational leaflets about Falun Gong, and more than 30 lotus pendants. The officers took the photo of Falun Gong’s founder off the wall and photographed it. The officers also told Ms. Wang’s daughter-in-law to bring 10,000 yuan to the police station. They threatened that the amount would increase with each passing day if she did not pay it in full by July 3, which was the next day.

Ms. Wang was released around 2 p.m. that afternoon.

12. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Kunshan Faces Second Trial

Mr. Zhang Kunshan from Lingyuan City was arrested by officers from the Lingyuan City Police Department on June 11, 2021. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in the first instance trial. He appealed. It was reported that the second instance trial will be scheduled before July 6, 2022.

13. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Cases Against Ms. Chen Hua and Husband Mr. Hao Zhiqiang Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Chen Hua, 63, and her husband Mr. Hao Zhiqiang, 64, have been held in the Kazuo County Police Department for 34 days. Their cases were turned over to Kazuo County Procuratorate in recent days.

14. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Chunhua’s Home Ransacked

Sun Hailong, village Party secretary of Xinan Village, Wanquan Town, Wanquan District, and a village official Shi, led four police officers to Ms. Li Chunhua’s home in Wanquan Town on the morning of June 17, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong and six or seven Falun Gong books. Ms Li’s father, 88, tried to stop them from taking the items but was unable to get them back.
