(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Officers from the Chaoyang City Police Department and the Kazuo County Police Department ransacked the home of Mr. Hao Zhiqiang, former director of the Lingyuan Iron & Steel Co., on June 1, 2022. They seized his Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, cell phones and other items. They broke open a safe and searched it. Mr. Hao and his wife Ms. Chen Hua were arrested afterward. Their whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Wang Detong, in his 70s, is a retired teacher. His family has not heard from him since April 2022. It was recently learned that he was being held in a brainwashing center located at 23 Changzhou Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City.
The case against Mr. Xu Yongqing, an electricity specialist in Shanghai and a senior engineer, was filed to the procuratorate again after being rejected twice by the Liandu District Procuratorate in Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. The case has now reached the criminal tribunal of the Liandu District Court. The time the trial will be has yet to be decided.
Ms. Ge Ling a retired pharmacist from the Yongxiu County Chinese Medicine Hospital, will have a second trial regarding her lawsuit to have her pension reinstated. The trial will be held at the Jiujiang City Intermediate Court at 9 a.m. on June 13, 2022.
Mr. Wang Chaojie, a teacher in the Tangyin No.1 Middle School, was harassed by officers including Dou Zhimin from the Wenfeng District Domestic Security Division. Dou went to his home on June 1, 2022, and told him to sign written records and threatened to dismiss Mr. Wang from his job if he refused.
On June 10, a group of agents asked the director of Mr. Wang’s workplace to call Mr. Wang to his office. When he got there Cheng Hua, head of the Domestic Security Division, and Zhang Xuelong, deputy head of the Domestic Security Division, interrogated Mr. Wang and ordered him to sign the interrogation notes. He refused. Three agents followed Mr. Wang to his home. When the door was not opened for them, they threatened to get a locksmith to open the door and take Mr. Wang to prison. They left around 11:50 a.m.
An agent from the Pingdu 610 Office called Ms. Chen Shuhua’s husband on October 22, 2020, and harassed him. The next day, Guo Yucheng, deputy head of the Pingdu 610 Office, and Li Chunmin, section director of the Pingdu Police Department, went to Ms. Chen’s home and asked whether she still practiced Falun Gong. They told her to sign a paper that defamed Falun Gong. Ms. Chen refused to comply with their demands.
Ms. Zhang Liyu went to the Fuzhou City Bureau of Social Security multiple times to talk about the fact that her pension was withheld or deducted. The authorities said that they were merely executing orders from their superiors.
Ms. Zhang went to the higher authorities, the Fuzhou City Human Resource and the Social Security Bureau, and asked to see the director. She was blocked outside of the entrance and told to appeal her complaints to the Letters and Visits Office. When she went there the staff told her that they could not do anything about it because it involved provincial documents passed down to lower levels.
However, a few days ago, Ms. Zhang received a lawyer’s letter entrusted by the Fuzhou City Bureau of Social Security. The letter threatened to prosecute her for criminal liability because she refused to return the pension she received while she was imprisoned. They told her this violated the so-called Social Insurance Audit Procedure.
