(Minghui.org) Minghui Publishing has launched a hardcover edition of the Minghui Report: The 20-Year Persecution of Falun Gong in China (later referred to as the “Minghui Report”) in German. The original English edition of the book was awarded by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), the largest book publisher trade group in the U.S.

The German version of Minghui Report: The 20-Year Persecution of Falun Gong in China was recently released as a hardcover by Minghui Publishing Center.

The report shows “how things really are behind the veil of censorship in the People's Republic of China,” remarked Dr. jur. Robert Rook, a judge in Germany.

Suppression Based on Faith

In July 1999, a silent battle unfolded in every corner of China, yet it rarely appeared in the media. This is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s suppression of 100 million Falun Dafa practitioners.

Based on exclusive firsthand accounts, the Minghui Report uncovers the violence Falun Dafa practitioners have been subjected to in China and how they have been persecuted. From children to the elderly, from teachers to doctors and lawyers, the persecution targets people of all professions and ages.

Practitioners’ kids are not allowed to go to school, young people are denied an education, professionals have their jobs taken away, and retirees are deprived of their pensions. Happy families are ruined one after another. Anyone who does not renounce their faith in Falun Dafa is ruthlessly slandered, harassed, imprisoned, and/or tortured.

Bearing Witness to Human Rights Violations in China

Many Falun Gong practitioners recounted their experiences of being abused in detention centers, prisons, and forced labor camps simply for upholding their faith.

The torture suffered by Falun Gong practitioners are not limited to beatings and forced labor. They are forced to sit or stand completely motionless for many hours. They are shocked by electric batons or bound to special torture instruments. They are hung in the air for untold hours. Those who go on hunger strikes to protest the persecution are savagely force-fed by guards and prisoners, and sometimes even forcibly given unknown drugs in the process. Many practitioners have died in the persecution, and others have become disabled or mentally disoriented due to forced administration of drugs.

Some lost their lives to forced organ harvesting. To help develop the country’s organ transplantation system, the authorities have taken organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, whose organs are seen as the healthiest because they don’t drink or smoke. As they live by the values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, improve their character, and practice the Falun Gong exercises, they maintain healthy bodies and clear minds.

Recommended for “Every Library and Parliamentary Office”

Since its publication, Minghui Report has received numerous positive feedback from book reviewers. “Minghui Report: The 20-Year Persecution of Falun Gong in China is a unique, extraordinary, and comprehensive study that is especially and unreservedly recommended for personal, community, college, and university library Falun Gong collections and supplemental studies reading lists,” wrote Michael J. Carson from Midwest Book Reviews.

“For those concerned about the misuse of Chinese power around the world, this book is an essential source of information,” commented Peter Westmore, former president of the National Civic Council (NCC) in Australia, “It offers over 430 pages of the most exhaustive documentation of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and should be in every library and parliamentary office in Australia.”

This well-documented material tells of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners since 1999, wrote Hubert Körper, member of the China Working Committee, International Society for Human Rights (ISHR).

He said the book “should not be missing in any library or on any politician's desk" and that "it is a must for all human rights organizations and Western companies that want to do business in China.”

“This Minghui Report shows in a shocking way how the Chinese communist regime discredits the once state-sponsored Qigong school Falun Gong at home and abroad by means of lying propaganda and targeted disinformation in order to elevate it to public enemy No. 1, a method that is well known from the times of the Cultural Revolution and the 'Great Leap Forward,'” Körper added. That is why he wanted to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this historic document. He said that this historic event should be a lesson for the future, with the goal of not letting this kind of tragedy happen again.

“This easy-to-read book contains first-hand accounts—a unique work concerning the serious human rights violations perpetrated in China, which are difficult to access in such a comprehensive and detailed form. For anyone interested in human rights or China, this book is highly recommended,” Judge Rook said.
