(Minghui.org) Two months after Ms. Wang Xiyu returned home from serving a four-year term for practicing Falun Gong, the agents with the local 610 Office came again to harass her.
A month before the Chinese communist regime ordered the persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline, in July 1999, the authorities created the 610 Office on June 10 and designated it as the Gestapo-style agency to oversee the persecution. In the past 23 years, the 610 Office has worked with the police, procuratorate and courts around the country in orchestrating the arrests and sentencing of Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Wang, a Pingdu City, Shandong Province resident, was arrested on November 24, 2017, and sentenced to four years with a 20,000-yuan fine by the Pingdu City Court in 2018. She appealed against the verdict, but to no avail.
When her prison term expired on November 24, 2021, instead of allowing her to go home herself, Dai Yugang, an agent of the Pingdu City 610 Office, took her from the Jinan Women’s Prison to Pingdu.
A woman surnamed Liu from the Guxian Town Appeals Office called Ms. Wang on January 15, 2022, and said Dai would come shortly to “visit her.” Although Ms. Wang made it clear that she didn’t want them to come, Dai and three other agents still showed up at her door and took photos of her.
Ms. Wang had severe hemorrhaging when she gave birth to her youngest son and almost died. Although she was resuscitated, she suffered from excruciating pain in her back and all her joints. She also struggled with severe headaches and swollen limbs. Lifting her arms to eat even became difficult for her. To cure her condition, she spent a fortune and saw many doctors, but none were able to alleviate her pain. Only a few days after she took up Falun Gong in 1998, she completely recovered.
Because Ms. Wang held fast to Falun Gong and persisted in raising awareness about the persecution, she has been incarcerated four times, spending a total of 14.5 years behind bars.
Her terms included a five-year prison sentence in 2001, a two-year labor camp term in 2007, a three-and-a-half-year prison term in 2012, and the latest four-year term in 2018. Every time after she was released, she was arrested again shortly after and given another term. She endured many brutal torture methods, including savage beatings, long hours of electric shocks, force-feeding, sleep deprivation, and being doused with ice-cold water in the freezing winter.
The persecution caused all of her family members to live in tremendous distress. A knock on the door was more than enough to leave them trembling with fear. While Ms. Wang was still detained in November 2002, her husband died in deep agony, at the age of 61.
