(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Chunmei was arrested on June 2, 2021 and then held in the Dalian Detention Center. She was tried on January 16, 2022 and sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Li has appealed the verdict to a higher court.
Ms. Sun Lihua was held on January 19, 2022 when she went to the Tiedong Police Department to go through the procedure to remove a guarantor pending trial. She was officially arrested on January 27 and was scheduled to be tried on May 26.
Ms. Cao Yanbing was arrested at home by three or four officers on the morning of May 23, 2022.
It was recently learned that Mr. Kang Hong, who was arrested on April 25, 2022, was transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center. Mr. Yang Zuolin, who was arrested with Mr. Kang, was released on bail because he failed a physical examination.
Mr. Zhang Jinman and Ms. Wang Suxia were reported to police for talking about Falun Gong at a bus station near the Baoji Central Hospital on May 19, 2022. They were later arrested by officers from the Jiangtan Road Police Station. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Qianyang County Detention Center. Ms. Wang was released.
Ms. Hu Yuexia, Ms. Niu Huifang, and Ms. Niu were arrested on the morning of May 18, 2022 for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people at the Shangzhuang Market. Officers ransacked Yuexia’s and Huifang’s homes that afternoon.
Huifang and Ms. Niu were interrogated in the police station and made to sign the interrogation records. The officer said to them in the end, “You two are in your 70s. You may leave.” They were released on the afternoon of May 19.
Ms. Hu Yuexia is still being held at the Shangzhuang Police Station. Officers planned to send her to the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Detention Center.
Huang Yuwang, a Donghu Village committee member, led agents to harass Ms. Luo Meiyun at her home three times. The third time, on April 16, 2022, Huang and four agents including officers, broke into Ms. Luo’s home and threatened her and her family members in order to force them to sign statements that defame Falun Gong. They took Ms. Luo to the Longwei Police Station and held her for two days.
Two officers from the Xinhua Police Station went to Mr. Xie Hua and Ms. Zhu Yiyan’s home on May 13, 2022. Ms. Zhu was not home at that time. One officer took a look at every room. He took a picture of the photo of Falun Gong’s founder and a picture of Mr. Xie Hua. The officers then left.
Ms. Song Jizhen, in her 70s, was giving some informational materials about Falun Gong to a person on February 5, 2022, when Li Hei, Party secretary of Tanzhuang Village, grabbed her and would not let her go. Li called the police and kept Ms. Song there for about two hours. Officers came and took Ms. Song to the Chengguan Town Police Station, and then to the Suning County Police Department. They recorded what she said and forced her to provide her fingerprints and footprints and took a picture of her eyes. They let her child pick her up and take her home at around midnight that day.
Ms. Lu Fengqin was followed when she went downstairs at her apartment building to get her express mail at around 2 p.m. on April 13, 2022. One agent intercepted her. The other agent said he was a police officer and showed his ID. They snatched Ms. Lu’s cell phone and keys from her hand. They went into Ms. Lu’s home and ransacked it. They photographed Ms. Lu’s Falun Gong books, weekly journals, 200 yuan in bank notes which had information about Falun Gong written on them, a MP3 player, Ms. Lu’s ID, four bank cards, a USB drive, an old cell phone, a small bag, and a set of black sports suits. They said that everything was evidence.
Afterwards they called in three or four officers. They ransacked her home and threw things around. They took Ms. Lu to the Beijuezhai Police Station where they video-recorded her and made notes about what she said. When Ms. Lu did not answer their questions Su Honglin, the deputy director of the police station, became angry. He slapped her twice and threw Falun Gong books on the ground. Ms. Lu’s child brought her home that night.
