(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Multiple plainclothes officers from the Caidian District Police Department went to Ms. Liang Xin’s rented apartment in Dongmafang Town, Yingcheng City around 9 a.m. on May 7, 2022. They arrested Ms. Liang Xin, her husband Mr. Zhang Zheng, and the property owner, and took them to the Dongmafang Police Station. Ms. Liang’s home was ransacked. Their Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. The property owner was handcuffed and interrogated for three hours before being released. Ms. Liang and her husband were taken to Wuhan City.
Mr. Zhao Wenxuan from Wanrong County was released from the Jinzhong Prison on April 16, 2022, after being imprisoned for four years. Just after he walked out of the prison gate, he was arrested again and taken to the brainwashing center founded by the Wanrong County Judicial Bureau. Mr. Zhao is still detained there.
Eight practitioners are charged including Mr. Ma Tongxin, Ms. Liu Xiaomiao, Ms. Jiao Yaqin, Ms. He Hongyan, Ms. Liu Yuru, Ms. Tian Xuan, Mr. Li Wu, and Mr. Du Guofang. Mr. Li Wu and Mr. Du Guofang are currently detained in the Jinzhou Detention Center. The other four practitioners are detained in the No.2 Detention Center of Shijiazhuang City.
Ms. Zhang Liyun and Ms. Li Guiying were reported to police when they distributed truth-clarifying materials in the Zhonghe Village, Qingshan Township at the end of 2020. Ms. Zhang was arrested by officers from the Qingshan Township Police Station. Ms. Li Guiying escaped.
Ms. Zhang was later sentenced to three and a half years in prison. The police went to Ms. Li Guiying’s home and tried to arrest her. Ms. Li has to stay away from her home to avoid being persecuted. Her home has been under surveillance.
Ms. Ma Yuling from Yushu City worked in Wuchang City. Officers from the Qizhi Police Station in Wuchang City went to Ms. Ma’s rented apartment in April 2020. They ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, and other personal belongings. Ms. Ma was taken to the police station. She was placed under 10-day detention and fined 1000 yuan.
Because of the epidemic, Ms. Ma was denied admission by the detention house and was released. When the epidemic situation eased, the police went to Ms. Ma’s landlord and her younger sister’s home to look for her in June and July 2020. Her sister and the brother-in-law were frightened. The police also went to Yushu City to look for her. They went to harass her sister’s family and her landlord two or three times in winter 2021. No one knew where Ms. Ma was.
Ms. Zhang Yunqing, in her 80s, from Zhanggong District, was harassed at home by twelve police officers around 2 p.m. on April 14, 2022. The police ransacked her home without showing a search permit and confiscated the book Zhuan Falun a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and other personal belongings. They stayed for more than 40 minutes and left without making a list of items that they confiscated.
A group of officers in the Tiefeng District went to the home of an elderly couple Mr. Zhang Jizhong and Ms. Li Yanzhen on April 12, 2022. They confiscated their Falun Gong books, computer, and other personal belongings. The elderly practitioners were taken to the police station and released the next day. They were told that they were under a 15-day residential arrest and should stay at home. They were told that they could be summoned at any time.
Ms. Chen Xiuli was arrested by police in Hangzhou City for talking to people about Falun Gong in a market in November 2019. Her family didn’t disclose any information about her situation and her whereabouts is unknown.
Ms. Zhao Xiaoli was followed and tracked since September 2021. Later Ms. Zhao and Mr. Zheng Xingquan were arrested and released on bail pending trial. After Ms. Zhao was arrested, many fellow practitioners who had contact with her were arrested. Some were detained for 15 days and some were released on bail pending trial.
Ms. Pu Xingchi, Liu Shunzhi (gender unknown), Ms. Liang Yening, and Mr. Zhang Linyu has been released and returned home. But they are still harassed and threatened by local police.
The case against Ms. Wang Bincheng and Liu Peng (gender unknown) will be soon submitted to the Qiaoxi District Court by the Qiaoxi District Procuratorate.
The case against Mr. Zhou Li has been submitted to the Qiaoxi District Court.
The case against Mr. Qi Zhiqiang was filed to the Shijiazhuang Intermediate Court.
