Targeted in a Group Arrest, Hebei Woman Imprisoned for Practicing Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) A woman in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, was recently admitted to prison to serve a two-year term for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Qian Shujuan was arrested and had her home ransacked on June 18, 2020, during a police sweep. She was held at the Tangshan No.1 Detention Center.

Ms. Qian was tried in the Zunhua City Court in early July 2021 and later sentenced to two years with a 10,000-yuan fine. Her family recently received a notice that she was taken to the Hebei Province Women’s Prison on February 18, 2022. The prison is notorious for torturing and brainwashing detained practitioners.

In addition to Ms. Qian, five other practitioners arrested on the same day have also been convicted:

Ms. Geng Fuxia was sentenced to eight years with a 10,000-yuan fine.Mr. Wei Guoshen was sentenced to three years and eight months and fined 5,000 yuan.Ms. Wang Xiuhong was sentenced to three years and fined 3,000 yuan.Ms. Fu Ruiying was sentenced to two years and fined 3,000 yuan.Ms. Lu Caiyun was sentenced to one year and five months and fined 3,000 yuan.
