(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Liu Qingfei is from Huangbei Village, Ciyutuo Town, Liaozhong District. The case against him was brought to the Liaozhong District Court on December 3, 2021.
On the morning of August 12, 2021, seven or eight officers from the Gaozhou City Domestic Security Division and the Chengnan Police Station arrived at Mr. Yu Tao’s home. He was not there. The officers threatened and intimidated Mr. Yu’s son, who is in high school, to call his father. When he returned home as his son asked, he was arrested by the Domestic Security officers. He was taken to the Gaozhou City Detention Center five months ago.
On September 10, 2021, Mr. Yu was officially placed under arrest by the Gaozhou City Procuratorate for “using a cult organization to undermine law enforcement.” On September 30, the Procuratorate changed the charge against Mr. Yu to “posing a clear and present danger of harming social order.”
On October 19, 2021, the case against Mr. Yu was turned over to the Gaozhou City Procuratorate. On October 22, it was transferred from the Maoming City Procuratorate to the Maonan District Procuratorate. On November 22, the case was returned to the Gaozhou Domestic Security for supplementary investigation. On December 28, a human rights lawyer hired by Mr. Yu’s family went to the video conference room next to the detention center’s gate house and talked with Mr. Yu online. The lawyer learned that Mr. Yu’s case was once again submitted to the Maonan District Procuratorate by the Gaozhou Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Liu Suzhi and Ms. Zhang Yunkun were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on January 4, 2022. They were arrested by officers from the Shuguang Police Station.
Ms. Liang Qunzhen, 77, was reported to the police when she distributed Falun Gong materials on January 5, 2022. Officers from the Gaoshan Police Station arrested her, ransacked her home, and confiscated two desk calendars.
During the interrogation, officers videotaped Ms. Liang and asked who she got the materials from. They also pressured her daughter to forcibly hold her hand to sign paperwork. Ms. Liang returned home that evening.
Ms. Zhang Huiqiong from Huashan Sub-district, Hongshan District, was arrested and taken to the Wuhan Women’s Detention Center. Her 15-day detention ended on January 7, 2022. That afternoon, officers from the Wuhan Domestic Security Division and the Huashan Police Station forcibly took Ms. Zhang to the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Center. They refused to admit her because she had not gotten the COVID-19 vaccine.
On the morning of January 8, 2022, officers from the Huashan Police Station took Ms. Zhang to the Huashan Community Hospital to forcibly vaccinate her. She refused to cooperate. The officers brought video footage showing her refusal to take the vaccine, and tried again to convince officials at the No. 1 Detention Center to take her. The detention center officials refused.
Ms. Zhang was released on bail on the afternoon of January 8. Her computer, printer, cell phone, Falun Gong books, and printed materials were confiscated and have not been returned to her.
Ms. Wang Jinlian works out of town all year round. From July 2021 to January 2022, officials from the Sanxiqiao Township government went to Ms. Wang’s home frequently to harass her parents. They asked her parents to write a guarantee statement, promising to give them 2,000 yuan if they complied. The officials also threatened to track down Ms. Wang’s cell phone and take her to the Hubei Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Guo Xuhong from Faku County was arrested by officers from the Xinmin Domestic Security Division at 9 a.m. on October 9, 2021. She was officially placed under arrest by the Liaozhong Procuratorate on November 24. She was held in the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center. She was forced to take an unspecified drug, which caused serious liver damage. Her entire body turned yellow. Doctors said that she was in imminent danger, and had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment. Given her dangerous condition, the detention center officials did not want her to stay there. On the evening of December 31, 2021, the Xinmin Police Department released Ms. Guo on bail, and she was taken home by her family.
Ms. Liu Huimin from Shanghewan Town was arrested at her home around 8 p.m. on December 14, 2021. She was taken to the Changchun City Detention Center for 13 days of detention. She has since returned home.
Ms. Liu Qingying distributed truth-clarification materials at the Dong’an Building Materials Market in Furong District on December 14, 2021. She was seen by Skynet cameras, the CCP’s massive surveillance network. Officers from the Dong’an Police Station arrested her and searched her home. Ms. Liu has returned home.
On December 25, 2021, Wendeng District officials called 74-year-old Ms. Liu Xiuli’s two daughters to the residential community where Ms. Liu lived. They forced her daughters to sign on her behalf statements renouncing Falun Gong. When Ms. Liu refused to sign, they threatened that they would prevent her granddaughter from going to college.
