(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The Rencheng District Court tried Ms. Xia Jing, Mr. Wang Xuejun, Ms. Sun Jing, and Mr. Ma Hongliang on November 9, 2022. The court did not pass sentences that day.
Ms. Lu Chunyu, in her 70s, was taken to the Shenyang Provincial Women’s Prison on October 23, 2022.
Ms. Yan Lijuan was arrested by officers from the Dongsheng Police Station on October 24, 2022, because her bail pending trial expired, and the Procuratorate decided to prosecute her. She was taken to the No.4 Detention Center. Her family was notified on November 7 that she’d been transferred to Weizigou.
Ms. Jiang Guixiu, in her 60s, was arrested at home on May 17, 2022, by agents from the Domestic Security Division who broke into her home. Her home was ransacked. She and her husband, who doesn’t practice Falun Gong, were taken to the Domestic Security Division and interrogated. They were released on bail that evening.
The Zhaoyuan City Procuratorate authorities called Ms. Jiang’s family on July 21 and informed them that the Domestic Security Division authorities had submitted a case against Ms. Jiang to the Procuratorate. The Procuratorate authorities asked Ms. Jiang for a signature on August 24, which Ms. Jiang refused to provide.
Ms. Jiang’s family received a call from prosecutor Gao on October 31. Gao said that the process was due and told Ms. Jiang to come and sign paperwork that afternoon. Gao said that failing to do so would be regarded as voluntarily giving up. When the family called the Procuratorate on November 1, Gao told the family that Ms. Jiang’s case had been submitted to the court. The court authorities called the family on November 2 and ordered Ms. Jiang to the courthouse on November 5 to pick up the indictment.
Ms. Shi Lianying, 81, was arrested by six or seven officers from the Shanghewan Police Station on November 9, 2022. Her current situation is unknown.
An officer called her son previously and told him to have his mother write a statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. The officer threatened to withhold her social security income and arrest her if she refused to write the statement.
About 20 days ago, officers secretly arrested Ms. Tang Xiaoming. They isolated her in Pengxi County and recently transferred her to the Suining Detention Center.
The Daoli Court planned to put Ms. Sun Tairong on trial on November 13, 2022.
Wang Changsong from the Chiping District Domestic Security Division called seven practitioners on November 7, 2022, and told them to go to the Zhenxing Police Station to fill out paperwork. The seven practitioners were Mr. Li Chuanlu and his wife, Mr. Liu Mingsen, Ms. Shang Sufang, Mr. Wang Chengguo, Ms. Xu Jinfeng, and Ms. Lu Jinyu.
At the Zhenxing Police Station, the practitioners were taken to the Chiping Chinese Medicine Hospital and forced to have physicals. They were then taken to the Leping Lockup Center but were not admitted. Then they were taken to the Zhengtai Hotel and isolated in the hotel’s epidemic quarantine station.
Wang Changsong notified their families the next day and told them to bring their clothing to the quarantine station. When their family members left the quarantine station, the guard told them to sign the notice of residential surveillance. They asked for a copy of the notice, but it was not given to them.
Ms. Xie Shengying, in her 70s, was prosecuted by the court because she handed out informational materials about Falun Gong. A judge told Ms. Xie’s daughter to find her mother and tell her to be at the trial in early October 2022. The judge promised that things would be over after the trial but threatened to have her fired from her job if she refused to find her mother.
The daughter found her mother and asked her to attend the trial. She signed the paper on behalf of her mother and Ms. Xie was released.
A few days later, the court authorities told Ms. Xie’s son-in-law to bring Ms. Xie to the courthouse to plead guilty. The daughter and son-in-law realized that they’d been deceived. Ms. Xie had to leave home and move from place to place in order to avoid being persecuted.
Ms. Hu Lihezhen was arrested by officers from the Dongmen Police Station on October 28, 2022, when she was posting banners with information about Falun Gong written on them. She was released that evening.
Officers from the Daxindian Town Police Station found Ms. Cai Yucong in her orchard on November 1, 2022, and told her to sign a statement promising not to practice or promote Falun Gong in public.
Ms. Liu Changxia was reported to the Qiaotou Police Station on November 10, 2022, when she was talking about Falun Gong at the Dashi Farmer’s Market and giving away calendars with information about Falun Gong. Two officers took her to the Qiaotou Police Station.
Ms. Zhai Yanan, 66, was tried in the interrogation room of the Shushan District Procuratorate on November 11, 2022
Mr. Luo Xiaogang, who works for the Xiaogan District Mobile Company, was arrested a work on November 10, 2022, by agents from the Xiaonan 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the police station. They took him to his home, ransacked it, and then took him to the police station.
The Gulu Police Station hired agents to monitor elderly Ms. Zhang Yindi, Ms. Gu Baozhen, and other practitioners around the clock during the Fifth China International Import Expo held in Shanghai.
Ms. Liang Yujie was arrested in late September 2022. She is being held in the Liaoyuan Detention Center and has been held there for more than a month.
