(Minghui.org) International Human Rights day is celebrated on December 10, 2022. That afternoon, practitioners held activities to raise awareness of the ongoing persecution in China on Stefanik Street in the city of Nitra, Slovakia.
Practitioners held activities to raise awareness of the continuing persecution in China at Stefanik Street in Nitra, Slovakia on December 10, 2022. Passersby signed the petition to call for an end to organ harvesting atrocities perpetrated by the Chinese Communist regime.
Nitra is the fifth largest city in Slovakia. During the day’s activities, practitioners demonstrated the exercises and collected signatures on a petition calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. Passersby agreed to sign the petition after learning what is truly happening.
Signing a petition calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China
A man riding a bicycle stopped at the information booth to ask what was going on. When he learned of the atrocities perpetrated by the Chinese regime he said, “I will ask my family members who are waiting at the square to come over to sign the petition.” A moment later, he returned with his family and all of them signed the petition. They also wish practitioners all the best with their appeal, and hopes that the persecution will end soon.
A woman passing by accepted a flier from a practitioner after she became aware of the persecution. She asked at once: “Where can I sign the petition?”
Four young women stopped in their tracks, took materials and started reading them. They immediately approached the table to put their names on the petition.
They received paper lotus flowers with messages printed on them about Falun Dafa. One could see joy in their eyes. They thanked practitioners for the opportunity to participate in helping to end the persecution.
As practitioners regularly hold such activities, some people said they had already signed the petition. Among them was a group of young men. Last time, they signed the petition after being informed of how brutal the persecution was. This time, they were with a new friend. They said to their friend: “Go and sign the petition, this will stop the Chinese Communist regime from torturing Falun Gong practitioners.” Their friend did not hesitate.
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
