(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Liu Huiping, 59, was arrested at home by officers from the Lianxi District Domestic Security Division on September 26, 2022, for teaching Falun Gong to her adopted son who is a pupil in an elementary school. She was placed under 15-day administrative detention and taken to the Yujiahe Detention House. Her detention was changed to criminal detention on October 12, 2022. Ms. Liu was placed under official arrest by the Lianxi District Procuratorate on October 21, 2022. Ms. Liu is currently being detained in the Jiujiang City Detention Center.
Four practitioners including Ms. Jiang Shuxia, whois over 80 years old, and Ms. Jin Lingxia, over 60, were arrested on July 20, 2022. Ms. Jiang was released on bail pending trial at midnight. Ms. Jin was released on bail pending trial after being detained for 24 hours. It was learned that they were released after their family members signed the related documents under pressure.
Ms. Zhang Guozhen, who is in her 60s, from the Dongxihu District, was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials in a residential community. She was arrested on the afternoon of October 16, 2022, and her home was ransacked. Ms. Zhang was taken to a brainwashing center.
Ms. Zhang was arrested by officers from the Wujiashan Street Police Station in September 2019. She was held for ten days in a detention house, then detained for two months in a brainwashing center.
Ms. Wu Youqing was taken to the Xinyi City Detention Center. She was on a hunger strike for five days when her family was told to hire a lawyer for her on October 23, 2022. The application on bail pending trial was not accepted until the following afternoon on October 24, 2022. The family was told to wait for the result.
Ms. Yang Chunrong was scheduled to be tried in the Banan District Court at 2:30 p.m. on October 24, 2022.
Police officers in Jiahe County ransacked Ms. Xiao Tucui’s store in late uly 2022. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and took Ms. Xiao to undergo a physical exam. Ms. Xiao was taken back home that evening, and has since been constantly harassed. Ms. Xiao has now left home to avoid further persecution.
Yin Hongshan, an official of the Zougezhuang Village, Qishan Town, has led people from the town government and the town police station to harass Ms. Duan Shuying more than 30 times in the past two years. They sometimes even went to Ms. Duan’s home twice a day.
Ms. Zhang Xia was arrested on the evening of April 8, 2022 for distributing truth clarifying materials in a residential community. Her home was ransacked at midnight. She has been released.
A female practitioner was arrested for talking about Falun Gong in a large market on the morning of October 23, 2022. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and other belongings.
Ms. Liu Jinxiu was harassed at home on October 17, 2022. Li and Song, both deputies of the Tongyuanju Police Station, along with some community staff members, knocked on her door to harass her family.
Ms. Liu was stopped by police officer Chen Jie and a female director from the local community in front of the elevator when she returned from the farmer’s market on October 20, 2022. They grabbed her bag and searched it.
Officers Chen Jie and Zhong went to Ms. Liu’s home on October 21, 2022. They ransacked her bedroom. Ms. Liu’s husband stopped them.
Officers in Yilan County went to Mr. Bai Hongyou’s home on October 23, 2022. He was arrested and his home was ransacked. They went to Mr. Zhu Deshan’s home the same day. Mr. Zhu was not at home. It is possible that Mr. Zhu’s wife was arrested.
The case against Ms. Yang Hui was submitted to the Lanzhou Railway Transportation Court around October 17, 2022.
Ms. Qu Yongxia from Sunwu County was arrested on September 15, 2022 and her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Sunwu County Detention Center.
