(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Hu Guorong was arrested at home on August 5, 2022. When her husband Mr. Zhao Chengming tried to stop his wife from being taken away he was also arrested. Ms. Hu Guorong was detained for 15 days. Her husband was charged with “attacking the police” and was arrested in late August 2022. He is still being held in the Songzi City Detention Center.
Four practitioners—the Zhang couple, and Xu Wenju and Su Huili—were arrested at the Zhang’s home in Sanliqiao Village in the Yuanhui District by officers from the Ganhechen Police Station when they were reading Falun Gong’s main book Zhuan Falun on October 14, 2022. The practitioners are still being held in the Yuanhui District Police Department.
Ms. Li Xiangzhen was arrested by officers from the Anren County Police Department and the Chenzhou Police Department on the evening of September 26, 2022. Her home was ransacked. Four other practitioners were also arrested in Anren County that day. Ms. Li was taken to the detention center the next day.
Ms. Sun Xiuxia, 68, from the Longtan District was arrested by Zunyi Police Station officers on the afternoon of October 19, 2022, for distributing truth-clarifying materials and talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Sun refused to cooperate at the police station. She was allowed to leave but the police followed her to her daughter’s home. She was taken back and detained for over 20 hours before she was released on bail pending trial.
Ms. Zhan Guiying, 80, was arrested on October 19, 2022, because she was seen talking to Ms. Sun Xiuxia. Ms. Zhan was taken to the police station. The police found she had amulets and a list of people who’d quit the Chinese Communist Party and its organizations. Four officers went to Ms. Zhan’s home that evening and confiscated two photos of Falun Gong’s founder, a set of Fa lecture CDs, and several Minghui Weekly magazines. Ms. Zhan was released around 1:30 a.m.
Ms. Zhu Guorong was arrested on the way to her vegetable field by three officers including Zhang, head of the Jingkou Police Station, at 3 p.m. on September 20, 2022. She was taken to the police station and asked if she’d distributed flyers in Tongjiaqiao several months ago, which she denied. The police went to her home and confiscated three Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. She was released that evening.
Mr. Liu Shunming from Maqiao Town was placed under residential surveillance on September 29, 2022. He has been monitored and followed.
Mr. Wang Liqun, who is from Qingyang City, left town a long time ago. He was arrested in Xi’an City recently and escorted to Qingcheng County, Qingyang City. He is currently detained.
Ms. Li Jinghua, 70, was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Nanding Market. Nanding Town Police Station officers arrested her on October 21, 2022. Twelve officers ransacked her home and confiscated 20 Falun Gong books, two printers, a computer, and 1000 yuan with facts about Falun Gong printed on the bills. She was later released on bail pending trial.
Elderly practitioner Ms. Wu from Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County was arrested by Chengdong Police Station officers on October 23, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Xiao Yanping was arrested by officers from the Qili Police Station in the Hantai District on August 22, 2018. She was sentenced to five years in prison by the Hantai District Court and has been incarcerated in Shaanxi Province Women’s Prison for nearly four years.
Ms. Zheng Suzhen, nearly 80, was arrested at home by officers from the East Street Police Station. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, informational materials about Falun Gong, and currency with facts about Falun Gong printed on the bills. Ms. Zheng was taken to the police station for interrogation and released that evening.
Zhang Luping and other officers from Guanying Town in the Wutong District harassed practitioners Xu Zerong, Zhong Shufeng, Ni Shuhua, Song Guizhi, and Xu Sufen on September 28, 2022. The police asked if they still practiced Falun Gong and if they had any Falun Gong books.
