(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wang Meihua, around 70, is retired from the Pingdingshan Resin Factory. For two years she was constantly harassed by police officers from the Weizhanhe District and her home was ransacked. The police tried to hold her in detention centers multiple times but failed each time due to her physical condition. Ms. Wang was placed under residential surveillance. Her family was recently contacted by the Lushan County Court. The notice stated that Ms. Wang would be tried in court on the afternoon of September 16, 2021.
Mr. Zhang Xizheng from Yishui County was arrested in the Dafeng District of Yancheng City on January 25, 2021. He had two court hearings on July 7, and July 27, 2021. The third hearing is scheduled in Dafeng District Court on September 17, 2021.
Ms. Yang Yanqiu was scheduled to be tried in the Xiangdu District Court at 2 p.m. on September 16, 2021.
Police officers including Huang Jian, head of the local police station, ransacked Ms. Ji Yunzhi’s home on the morning of September 9, 2021. Besides the reported items, the following personal belongings were confiscated: Ms. Ji Yunzhi’s ID card, her husband’s salary card, six bank books with about 28,000 yuan in them, more than 10,000 yuan in cash, Hong Kong reunification commemorative coins, and a necklace that her son sent her from overseas.
Four officers from the Linxiao Road Police Station in the Daxing District went to Mr. Liu Junqing’s home in the Tiangongyuan District on the afternoon of September 5, 2021. They claimed that they had arrested Ms. Wang Huichun and that she had supplied Mr. Liu Junqing with Falun Gong informational materials. In fact, Ms. Wang Huichun was not arrested by police until September 7, 2021.
The police showed Mr. Liu surveillance videos and said that he had gone to Ms. Wang Huichun’s home. They took Mr. Liu to the Daxing District Case Handling Center and later to the Tuanhe Detention House. Mr. Liu was denied admission due to high blood pressure and was released.
Ms. Wang lives in the No. 6 Building in the Jidian Community near Kuanping Bridge. She was arrested on September 9, 2021, and her home was ransacked.
Ms. Xu Libo lives in Fuyu Village, Gongzheng Township, Shuangcheng District. She was harassed at home by Na Guofeng, secretary of the village Party committee, on August 27, 2021. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement renouncing her faith, which she refused. Ms. Xu stayed away from her home to avoid further harassment. Her family members often received harassing phone calls and threatened that Ms. Xu would be arrested if she didn’t sign the guarantee statement.
Six people from the village office and the Gongzheng Township Police Station waited an entire day at the gate outside the community where Ms. Xu’s son lives and at the gate outside the kindergarten Ms. Xu’s grandchildren attend, on September 9, 2021. Ms. Xu’s daughter-in-law reasoned with them and told them they should not interfere with their lives.
Officers from the Guchengzi Police Station went to Ms. Cao Fengying’s home on the northwestern side of Yong’an Bridge around 1 p.m. on September 8, 2021. They arrested Ms. Cao, (over 70) as well as Ms. Wu Yulan, 78, and Ms. Liang Yuzhi, 70, who were visiting Ms. Cao. All three practitioners are detained in the Fushun Women’s Detention Center.
Ms. Li Hui was arrested by officers from the Qiangzi Street Police Station in the Hebei District on May 17, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Li was taken to the Hebei District Detention Center by Wu Tao from the police station the next day. Ms. Li Hui’s mother is 90 years old and lives with her daughter. She went to the police station and the procuratorate almost every day and tried to get her daughter released, but her efforts were in vain. Procurator Huang Wei is now in charge of Ms. Li’s case.
Ms. Zhu Haiyan was arrested by police officers and Xiong, director of the Comprehensive Office of the Yemingzhu Sub-district Office of Gezhouba, on the afternoon of September 11, 2021. They claimed to take her to a brainwashing center.
Ms. Song Changping, 56, lives in Wujiazi Village, Dajiagou Town and works in the Longzhu Private School. She was reported to police by the principal Wang for talking to students about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Dehui City Domestic Security Division and the Zhenxing Police Station in her workplace around 9 a.m. on July 10, 2021. Her ID card, cell phone, bank book, and house key were confiscated. Her home in the countryside was ransacked while no one was there. Her Falun Gong books and lecture CDs were confiscated. Her 11-year-old granddaughter was forced to lead the police to her home at the third floor of the East Sandao Street Market in Dehui City. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, Minghui Weekly, and USB drives with Falun Gong information.
Ms. Song was transferred to the No.4 Detention Center of Changchun City on July 26, 2021. Her case has been submitted to the Dehui City Procuratorate.
Ms. Song’s husband works outside the city all year around. Her eldest son is unable to work due to severe diabetes, and her youngest son is unable to work due to depression. Her sons and two young granddaughters all depend on Ms. Song.
Mr. Han Purui and his wife Ms. Kang Meiying live in Nanhan Village, Tianma Town. They were harassed at home by officers from the Tianma Town Police Station and Han Ligang, secretary of the village Party committee on August 31, 2021. The couple were photographed and pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which they refused.
Ms. Hu Qiurong was harassed at home by the secretary of the village Party committee and officer Li Haiming from the Tianma Town Police Station. They deceived Ms. Hu and her husband with the excuse of renting a house, and they photographed the couple.
Mr. Huang Yuhe and his wife Ms. Huang Xiuzhen, in their 70s, were arrested by officers from the Weidong District Police Department on June 4, 2021. Their home was ransacked. Mr. Huang Yuhe was released due to his physical condition. Ms. Huang Xiuzhen was detained in the Ruzhou City Detention Center and was later transferred to the Baofeng County Detention Center.
Mr. Huang was arrested again on July 26, 2021. He is currently detained in the Xixie Detention Center in Pingdingshan City.
Ms. Chi Ruimei lives in Shagou Village. Her husband Mr. Wang Huayang stayed away from home to avoid being persecuted. Three people including Yang Yongkui from the Zhaoyuan City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and Xu Jianzheng from the brainwashing center, went to harass Ms. Chi at her home. They threatened to keep going back until her husband returned.
Ms. Li Beifang was deceived into going to the Xincheng Police Station by officer Tan Boyong around 9 a.m. on September 8, 2021. She was arrested and taken to the detention house but was denied admission. Tan Boyong did not release Ms. Li until midnight the next day.
Ms. Su Guiying was arrested in 2016 and was sentenced to four years in prison. She was released in September 2020.
Ms. Su has not received her pension since August 2020. She contacted the Social Security Bureau and tried to get her pension reinstated, but to no avail. She sent an application to have the decision regarding her pension reviewed to the Mazhang District Government. The government officials ignored her application and refused to process it.
Ms. Wang Shuying was arrested at her home by officers from the Xilin Police Station around 7:30 a.m., on September 3, 2021. They accused her of spreading false statements online. Ms. Wang was taken to the Tangyuan County Detention House and was placed under 15-day detention.
Ms. Zhu Xiyu was sentenced to four years in prison on April 7, 2017. She was incarcerated in the Jilin Province Women’s Prison for three and a half years. Her pension of more than 200,000 yuan during her detention was suspended by the social security bureau. Ms. Zhu is now appealing to have her pension repaid.
