(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
More than 20 practitioners were arrested by officers from police departments in the Binhai area on April 23, 2021. Six practitioners who were arrested by the Jidi Police Department are still detained. They are Ms. Meng Yu, Ms. Meng Fanyun, Ms. Chen Xiaohong, Ms. Guo Hongyuan, Ms. He Baiqing, and Mr. Zhou Deyong. Their cases have been submitted to the Dongying District Procuratorate. The investigation has recently been extended to August 31, 2021, with the excuse of “too much evidence.”
In addition, two sisters, Ms. Che Jinghua and Ms. Che Jing’e, who were arrested in the Kenli District on June 2, 2021, are still detained.
Ms. Zheng Yueqing from Taiping New Village in Tangqi Town was arrested in June 2021 and is now under official arrest.
Ms. Zhao Benping, in her 50s, was arrested by officers from the Tengzhou City Domestic Security Division on August 3, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Zhao may be detained in the Tengzhou City Detention House.
Mr. Zhou Shun and Ms. Zhang Guihua live in Shuangshan Village, Houyao Town. They were harassed at home by Zhai Guocheng, head of the town police station; Huang Dashuai, village security director; and the town officials on the morning of August 12, 2021. They were pressured to sign a guarantee statement by being warned that their children’s future, such as schooling, future job searches, and so on, would be adversely affected if they didn’t. They refused to sign anything.
Mr. Li Xixian’s son received a call from the Pengcheng Community Office on August 10, 2021. He was told to get his father to sign a guarantee statement or to sign it on his father’s behalf. He refused to comply.
The following day, Mr. Li’s son received a call from a local police officer, who also pressured him to sign a guarantee statement for his father or make his father sign it. Mr. Li’s son refused. The police threatened him and said that his family would be implicated if he did not sign it.
Nine practitioners were harassed by Xiao Yongsheng, head of the Jiajiaying Town Police Station in Xuanhua County, and Wang Liqing, village accountant in Yaojiaying Village, from August 3 to 5, 2021. Those harassed were Ms. Li Cui’e, Ms. Cheng Suzhen, Ms. Gao Fengzhi, Ms. Chen Meixiang, Mr. Chen Guangliang, Ms. Zhai Yulan, Mr. Lan Zhenglin, Ms. Ye Shulan, and Ms. Li Yufang from Yuantaizi Village. The practitioners were photographed and asked if they still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Liu Yufen was harassed at home by officer Jiao Mingsheng from the Jiutumenling Police Station in May 2021. The officer wore a body camera and pressured Ms. Liu to sign a guarantee statement. After he threatened to arrest her, her son signed it on behalf of his mother against his will.
Ms. Li Yanhui’s oldest brother was harassed by Zhang Shen, security director of No.7 Village of No.8 Town, on August 11, 2021. He was pressured to sign the three statements.
Mr. Wang Xiaoming worked in the Xinbin County Police Department. When it was learned that he was writing truth-clarifying letters to the police department, he was reported to the higher authorities. Police department personnel went to talk to him. His position was downgraded by two levels by the county discipline committee. Mr. Wang sent a statement of complaint to the county mayor, Party secretary, organization department, and the county Political and Legal Affairs Committee. He was fired from his job on July 31, 2021.
Ms. Hou Bianqin lives in Houjialin Village, Hezhuang Township. Hou Qunxiang, deputy secretary of the Houjialin Village Party Committee, called and harassed her in mid-July 2021, ordering her to go to the village office. When she got there, she was told to sign a form, which she refused to do.
Officer Hou Huining and another officer from the Lubei Police Station went to Ms. Hou’s home to harass her on August 3, 2021.
Ms. Qiu Tieling and Ms. Wang Jinhui were arrested by Xincheng District Police Department officers on June 4, 2021. They were detained and their case was later submitted to the Yinzhou District Procuratorate. The case was returned to the Xincheng District Police Department on August 2, 2021, due to insufficient evidence.
