Switzerland: Practitioners Introduce Falun Dafa During Activities in Winterthur

Aug. 26, 2021 |   By Minghui correspondent Gao Siyu in Switzerland

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the Neumarkt in Winterthur City Center on August 21, 2021. Located 12 miles northeast of Zurich, Winterthur dates back to the Roman Empire and is a cultural destination, noteworthy for its several museums that feature a world-class art collection.

As part of the day’s events, young practitioners performed a play accompanied by guitar and flute. The play depicted a little lotus flower that grew up insisting on living by Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. It resisted threats and harassment from a crocodile, a toad, and a snake, and eventually broke through the mud and blossomed. When the trombone sounded, the green crocodile showed up. When the character Truthfulness came, the crocodile ran away quickly. A group of children sat in the front and watched the play intently.

Besides the play, the practitioners demonstrated the exercises and told people about the brutal persecution in China. They also explained to passersby how millions of people enjoyed mental and physical fitness through the practice. Several people asked where they could learn the exercises, and some did so during the event.

Some children asked the practitioners about Falun Dafa after they watched the play; others had their parents talk to practitioners and sign the petition demanding the Chinese regime end the persecution.

Sandra Simic Sharaiha watched the play with her daughter and son. She said that her children loved the story and that “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance are the best principles.”

Letting People Know about Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance

Many practitioners contributed to the success of the play. A 17-year-old practitioner spent a week of her vacation making props for the crocodile and snake; practitioners who played the musical instruments traveled from the other side of Austria; and others supplied costumes and speakers.

The idea of producing a play to help people, especially children, learn the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, came from Diep and Quincy. Quincy thought it was important to introduce the universal values to other children because he feels they are constantly exposed to negative influence. “This way, when they come across difficulties in schools or their lives, they can have the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance to guide them like we do,” Quincy said.

More importantly, they wanted to let more people know that it was wrong that the Chinese communist regime persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

The Persecution Should Not Be Happening

Florian Jacot-Descombes is a photographer and owns a company with 30 employees. He has always been interested in Chinese history. He heard about Falun Dafa before, but not about the persecution.

Florian Jacot-Descombes supports practitioners’ effort to end the persecution.

“I think practitioners are peaceful and noble,” Florian said. He believes that the persecution should not have happened, “The Chinese regime has persecuted Falun Dafa for 22 years and that is 22 years too long. We shouldn’t tolerate it for even one day.”

As for the atrocities of the Chinese regime harvesting the practitioners' organs for sale when they were still alive, Florian said, “This should not be happening.”

He signed the petition calling on the Chinese regime to end the persecution. He said, “More people can hear about Falun Dafa and how it’s persecuted. We should spread this information so more people will wake up!”

Mr. Dubach stopped and watched the practitioners demonstrate the exercises, and asked if he could learn them. After he learned the exercise movements, he said that he felt relaxed and that Falun Dafa is great.

Someone at a nearby table watched the practitioners meditate. She told them, “Such inner peace is the best in the world. We should let the school children learn Falun Dafa. This will help improve their bodies and minds tremendously.”
