(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 13 provinces, where at least 46 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Junxiu Brutally Beaten

Ms. Zhang Junxiu went to Chenggu County on June 18, 2021. She was followed by He, head of the Chenggu County Domestic Security Division, and a woman in plain clothes. The woman kept talking on her phone to report the situation. Later, the woman called two officers from the local police station. The three officers forcibly handcuffed Ms. Zhang and took her to the interrogation room of the police station, where she was held for over five hours.

When arresting Ms. Zhang, the officers violently punched and kicked her. As a result, seven or eight ribs on the left side of her body and the second rib on her right side were fractured. They also confiscated 600 yuan in cash, a cellphone for playing music, the keys to her electric tricycle, a Taoxindao shopping card (with a balance of about 100 yuan), and an umbrella that she carried without giving her a list of these items.

In the evening, the officers called Ms. Zhang’s husband and ordered him to open the door, saying that if he did not cooperate, Ms. Zhang would be held at the Hanzhong Police Station. After Ms. Zhang’s husband opened the door, without presenting any documents they ransacked the place and confiscated a laptop, a bag of printed materials, some Falun Dafa books, and photos of Falun Gong’s founder. They did not give a list of confiscated items. Ms. Zhang was released and told to wait at home.

2. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhao Li Detained

Ms. Zhao Li from Xigu District did not return after leaving home on May 22, 2021. On May 23, seven people went to her home, including the director of the Xigucheng Police Station. Ms. Zhao was detained and taken to the Xigu District Detention Center by officers from the police station on May 23. She was released from the Chengguan District Detention Center on May 30.

3. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Yuhuan Arrested

Ms. Dong Yuhuan was arrested and taken to the detention center by officers from the Taiping Police Station on June 18, 2021.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Kaili Arrested

Mr. Lu Kaili was arrested by officers from the Malanzi Police Station on June 20, 2021. He was detained for five days at the Dalian City Detention Center. On June 25, Mr. Lu’s family went to pick him up, only to see officers from the police station taking him away. His family confronted the officers and demanded Mr. Lu’s release, but they did not release him.

5. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Four or five Mudanjiang City police officers knocked on the door of Mr. Zhang Tao’s home, threatened him loudly, and demanded he open the door on the morning of June 10, 2021. Mr. Zhang refused to open the door.

A locksmith, who was brought over by officers, started prying the door open. When the door was opened up slightly, the officers suddenly sprayed chili water into Mr. Zhang’s eyes, causing him severe pain. The officers rushed in and pressed him to the ground, twisted his arms, and cuffed his hands behind his back. They also pressed their fists into his ribs to prevent him from walking to the faucet to wash his eyes.

Mr. Zhang shouted that his eyes could not stand it anymore. Later, officers allowed him to wash his eyes and started searching his home. They confiscated his Falun Dafa books, a computer, and a cell phone. When the officers identified practitioner Mr. Wang Xinmin in Mr. Zhang’s home, they acted like they had found someone they were looking for. The officers took Mr. Wang, Mr. Zhang, and two family members to the Xiangyang Police Station. The director of the police station beat Mr. Zhang and cuffed his hands behind his back.

At the same time, other officers arrested two or three elderly Falun Gong practitioners. On the same day, Mr. Zhang’s two family members were released. Mr. Zhang was detained for 15 days and has now returned home. Mr. Wang was placed under criminal detention.

6. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Xiaohua Harassed

Ms. Yang Xiaohua from the Wenquan Sub-district was harassed by two people while she was working in a shop on June 23, 2021. The two people photographed her and asked her if she was still practicing Falun Gong. They said if she did not practice they would not bother her anymore. She answered that she still practiced Falun Gong.

7. [Guang’an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Qiu Zhiying and Ms. Liu Maolan Harassed

Ms. Qiu Zhiying from Lingshui County was harassed over the phone by Shuangjing Community management personnel on June 16, 2021, who said that they would go to her home. After arriving at her home, they asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong and told her to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong, which she refused. They also wanted to talk to her son and have him sign the paperwork.

Ms. Liu Maolan has been followed and harassed.

8. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhu Xianyong Arrested

Mr. Zhu Xianyong was arrested at home and his home was ransacked by officers from the Railway Police Station on June 16, 2021. Mr. Zhu was held in Hong’an County.

9. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Meiqing and Ms. Deng Yongmei Officially Arrested

Mr. Wang Meiqing and Ms. Deng Yongmei were officially placed under arrest.

10. [Guang’an City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Guihua and Ms. Xu Mingzhen from Lingshui County were arrested at Ms. Yu Xingzhen’s home on the afternoon of May 19, 2021. Ms. Yu’s home was ransacked and all her Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

Shortly afterward, three officers from the Chengbei Police Station, Lingshui County, broke into Ms. Li Birong’s home. They forced her to admit that she practiced Falun Gong. They also photographed her and the interior of her home. 

On the same day, Mr. Wang Xianhui was also arrested.

11. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Wei Zhihua Officially Arrested

Ms. Wei Zhihua, 58, was arrested at home by domestic security officers on the morning of June 3, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and printed materials. The Jiaozuo City Police Department officially arrested him on the grounds of “using a (slanderous term deleted) organization to undermine or sabotage law enforcement” as stated in Article 300 of the Criminal Law.

12. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Qinrong Arrested

Ms. Wang Qinrong, in her 60s, was doing odd jobs in the Huangdao District. He was arrested by Huangdao District police officers.

13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yuzhen Held in Custody

Ms. Li Yuzhen from the Taoci Residential Community in Daowai District was arrested by officers from the Lihua Police Station on the morning of June 10, 2021. She was taken to the Harbin Detention Center. A few days ago, the detention center notified her family to deposit money for her.

14. [Dazhu County, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Wang Qibing, Party secretary of the Shuangma Community Management Office, led a community worker to intimidate and threaten Ms. Zhang Qimei and Ms. Tang Tianying on June 24, 2021. Wang did not allow the two practitioners to talk, videotaped them, and pressured them to sign three statements. Both practitioners refused to sign the statements.

Two officers from the Yangjia Police Station intimidated and threatened Ms. Qiu Ping on May 11. They photographed her and instigated her husband to scold her. Her husband almost beat her. On May 13, Jiang Yunfeng from the Yangjia Comprehensive Management Office went to Ms. Qiu’s home to take pictures and told her not to go out or distribute Falun Gong materials.

On June 25, Yuntai Community Management Office staff members instigated Ms. Zhang’s husband to threaten his wife that her practicing Falun Gong had affected their son’s future and coaxed her into signing statements at the community office.

15. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Mu Ruiqiu Arrested

Ms. Mu Ruiqiu was arrested by officers from the Xijie Police Station on the afternoon of June 24, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and a printer. Ms. Mu has returned home.

16. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hao Shuping Harassed Repeatedly

The Yongji County Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office instructed officers from the Xiyang Town Police Station to harass Ms. Hao Shuping four times in April 2021.

At noon on April 22, four officers including Wu Di and Shen Tengfei forcibly arrested Ms. Hao and took her to the Jilin City Detention Center for five days of detention.

Officers went to Ms. Hao’s home on May 25 and pressured her to sign the paperwork, which she refused. Police assistant Dong Guo and Party secretary Hao Zhongcai went to Ms. Hao’s home at 6 p.m. on May 26 and pressured her to sign paperwork.

On June 20, Xiyang Town Comprehensive Management Office personnel and police assistant Dong found Ms. Hao’s husband where he was doing odd jobs. They threatened him that if Ms. Hao did not sign the paperwork, he would not be allowed to work or earn money. On the afternoon of June 21, they called her husband again and said that he had to stop working.

On the morning of June 22, Xiyang Town Comprehensive Management Office personnel and police assistant Dong went to Ms. Hao’s home again. They pressured her to sign paperwork. Later, staff member Zhang Bo of the Yongji County 610 Office and officer Shen Tengfei went to her home and threatened her to sign paperwork. They took out the verdict of Mr. Liu Ji’s two-year prison term and asked her to put her fingerprints on it. After Ms. Hao refused, they threatened her husband to sign the three statements on her behalf.

17. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Ruixia Detained

Ms. Zhang Ruixia was arrested by Xu Qingsen, team leader of the Development Zone Domestic Security Division, and other officers on June 21, 2021. She was detained for 15 days.

18. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xu Xiangmei Held in Detention Center

Ms. Xu Xiangmei, 68, was taken to the Weicheng District Detention Center on May 2, 2021.

19. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Yunping Tried

Ms. Fu Yunping from Longjiang County was arrested in early May 2021. She was tried by the Longjiang Court on May 11. Her family members did not know when the trial was scheduled.

Ms. Fu made it clear that she would appeal. When her family asked whether the Longjiang Court received her appeal, the court kept saying that they had not received it and the detention center did not forward it to them. The family asked the detention center, and the detention center said it had been forwarded to the court. Further details are still being verified.

20. [Beijing] Ms. Ma Xiuyun and Husband Mr. Tang Pingshun Monitored Around the Clock

Starting on June 15, 2021, Ms. Ma Xiuyun and her husband Mr. Tang Pingshun from the Shaoyaoju Community, Chaoyang District, have been monitored and followed around the clock by people who are stationed outside their home.

21. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Rongjun and Daughter Ms. Na Yan Missing

Ms. Wang Rongjun and her daughter Ms. Na Yan from Heping District lost contact with others starting around June 20, 2021. Someone went to their home and saw that the couplet on the door had been torn off. When Ms. Na’s colleagues in her work unit were asked about her whereabouts, they were reluctant to discuss it and said they had no idea.

22. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Muyu Arrested

Ms. Liu Muyu, 77, was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong and helping people withdraw from the CCP on May 10, 2021. She was arrested by officers from the Jingwanzi Police Station. The officers confiscated two Falun Dafa books. At the police station, she appeared to be uncomfortable physically. Because of her age, she was released at 6 p.m.

Ms. Liu was reported to the police again for talking to people about Falun Gong on June 19. She was arrested by officers from the Kuitang Police Station. At 2 p.m., she was forcibly handcuffed for refusing to cooperate when given a nucleic acid test at the police station. At 6 p.m., she developed symptoms of hypertension and dizziness, and the officers notified her family. Her family dialed 120 for first aid and took Ms. Liu to the hospital for treatment. She returned home safely that night.

23. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Delian Arrested

Someone knocked on the door of Ms. Cui Delian’s son’s new home on June 2, 2021. Ms. Cui opened the door and six officers rushed in. They searched the place, rummaged through the rooms one by one, and confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun. Ms. Cui was taken to the Malanzi Police Station. Afterward, the officers took Ms. Cui to her home, called a locksmith to open the door, and ransacked her home. They confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, two printers, and a laminating machine.

Afterward, the officers took Ms. Cui to the police station for interrogation. She was held there for one night. The next day, she was taken to the Central Hospital for a nucleic acid test and lung CT scan. Then the officers took out the detention notice and pressured her to sign it, which she refused. That afternoon they took Ms. Cui to the Pubic Security Hospital for a physical examination and then to the Dalian No. 2 Detention Center for seven days of detention. She returned home safely on June 10.

24. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Yaling’s Home Ransacked

Four officers from the Dongjuzi Police Station went to Ms. Xu Yaling’s home on May 18, 2021. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. She answered yes, and took out a copy of Zhuan Falun and clarified the truth to them. Before she could finish speaking, the police grabbed the book. They also found Teaching the Fa at the Eastern U.S. Fa Conference, two copies of Minghui Weekly, two copies of Zhengjian Weekly, a weekly publication about Mainland China, a copy of Heavenly Blessings, two booklets, and a small CD-ROM. The officers took pictures of Ms. Xu, her family, and the books and materials.

25. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Harassed Repeatedly

Mr. Chen Qingshan and his wife Ms. Wang Ling live in Sanfendian Village, Qianlianghu Town, Junshan District. Between the end of May and June 19, 2021, the couple was harassed four times by officers from the Qianlianghu Town Police Station, the village Party secretary, and the village security director. Every time, at least two people and as many as six people would show up at the couple’s home. These people took photographs with their cell phones and searched from the first floor to the third floor. They threatened to come back and said that they would go to all Falun Gong practitioners’ homes.

Two local police officers went to Mr. Xue Tianbao’s home in Wenjiawan Village, Caisanghu Town, Junshan District, around June 10. Mr. Xue was not at home.

Mr. Xue’s wife Ms. Peng Shuchun was taken to the Baimalong Labor Camp in 2000 and held there for over a year. She was abused and became mentally disordered, and has since suffered complete dementia for two decades. She was suspected of having been given drugs that damaged her nervous system.

The two officers confiscated a copy of weekly publications and Master’s recent writings even though Mr. Xue was not at home. On June 11, the village Party secretary went to Mr. Xue’s home again under the orders of his superiors and questioned who installed the satellite dish for viewing New Tang Dynasty Television programs and who provided the weekly magazines.
