(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 33 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Kan Chaohua from the Pudong District was placed under 24-hour surveillance by officers from the Puxing Road Police Station from June 25 to July 6, 2021. This is the fourth time that Mr. Kan was under surveillance this year.
Ms. Li Shujie from the Longfeng District was arrested at work by four plainclothes officers from the Sartu District Police Department on the morning of June 10, 2021. Her home was ransacked and a calendar with Falun Gong information was confiscated. Ms. Li was released around 4 p.m. that afternoon.
Ms. Yu Dehui was taken from her home by officers from the Gaoxin District Police Department to have a physical exam in a hospital on June 24, 2021. She was placed on bail for a year pending trial. Ms. Yu returned home around 7 p.m. that evening.
Ms. Ye Hui, 66, has lived alone for years. She has recently been harassed at her home by local community staff members and police officers. She did not open the door for them. A fellow practitioner went to her home in early June 2021 and saw that the lock had been removed, leaving a large, round hole in the door. Ms. Ye was not at home. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Wang Rongjun and her daughter Ms. Na Yan live in the Heping District. They are detained in the No.1 Detention Center of Shenyang City. The details are unknown.
Mr. Wang Xiren from the Yuelu District was arrested at home by officers from the Yuelu District Police Department around 8 p.m., June 9, 2021. His home was ransacked. The police confiscated one desktop computer, one laptop, one printer, four cell phones, his Falun Dafa books, and truth-clarifying materials.
Mr. Wang was first detained in the Yinpenling Police Station and then transferred to the Yuelu District Police Department on the morning of June 10, 2021. He was taken to the No.1 Detention Center of Changsha City on the evening of June 10, 2021.
Shi Minyao (gender unknown) lives in Shijia Village, Zhuqiao Town. Shi was arrested on July 8, 2021, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
The family of Mr. Hu Yinshun was informed by the Fengnan District Domestic Security Division that he would be tried in the Luannan District Court on July 20, 2021.
Ms. Wang Li lives in Zhongfuluo Village, Xifuluo Township. She was arrested at home by Wu Shuai and three other officers from the Anguo City Domestic Security Division at noon on July 5, 2021. Ms. Wang was interrogated in the police department and asked about the source of her Dafa books and USB drives that were confiscated last year. The officers told her, “Your son earns big money overseas. If you don’t cooperate with us, we can interfere with his job.” They forced Ms. Wang to sign the transcript. She was released around 4:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Mr. Xu Zhijun and his wife live in Erdaowa Village, Tianjiayao Town, Chicheng County. They were harassed at home by officer Hao Baoping from the Tianjiayao Town Police Station; Xu Guangming, security of the village Party committee; and two others in May 2021. They asked the couple if they still practiced Falun Gong. When they said they did, officer Hao threatened to arrest them. They tried to take a photo of the couple, but they did not cooperate.
The case against Ms. Yang Manye and Ms. Gu Jihong was submitted to the Jing’an District Court on June 18, 2021.
Mr. Tang Shiquan, in his 50s, was caught by a surveillance camera when he distributed truth-clarifying materials in the Supo Bridge Residential Community of Chengdu City. He was arrested at work in the Zhongda Junyue Community, Jinpeng Sub-district, the Qingyang District, Chengdu City, on July 1, 2021.
Three Lanxi County Police Department officers went to the home of Mr. Peng Yunzhou in late May 2021. His parents, in their 80s, were at home, and the officers asked if they practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Peng’s father said they did and told them, “We are in such good health because we practice Falun Gong. Being a good person does not violate the law.” The officers took photos of the two against their will. They also confiscated their calendar, wall posters, pendants, and so on.
Four officers from the Lanxi County Police Department and the Hongguang Township Police Station went to Yang Zhenlin’s home around 10 a.m. on May 28, 2021. They videotaped and photographed Yang Zhenlin and asked if Yang still practiced Falun Gong. They recorded Yang’s cell phone number.
Female officer Rong Li of the Lanxi County Police Department called both of Ms. Liu Guofeng's daughters on the morning of June 9, 2021. The officer tried to find out where Ms. Liu Guofeng was.
Rong Li and officers from the Lanxi Town Police Station also harassed Ms. Li Yanfang on the morning of June 9, 2021. Ms. Li was not at home. They phoned her son to ask about her.
Ms. Zhao Fenglian was caught by a surveillance camera when she distributed truth-clarifying materials in a residential community at the end of 2020. She was taken to a police station. The officers tried to make her admit that her niece Ms. Liu Meirong had given her the materials. Ms. Zhao was released 24 hours later. She was later arrested on December 20, 2020, and detained for 10 days in the Changle Detention House.
Ms. Liu Meirong lives in Qianbeihao Village, Changle Development Zone, Changle County. She was harassed at home by an officer from the Baocheng Street Police Station in Chengle County in mid-April 2021. Ms. Liu was told to stop by the police station to sign a guarantee statement.
Ms. Liu Meirong received four harassing calls from the local police station on May 25, 2021, and another harassing call on June 11, 2021.
Ms. Liu Meirong and Liu Anjie (gender unknown) were harassed at home by Liu Xiaorong, secretary of the Qianbeihao Village Party Committee, and the assistant Liu Hesheng on July 4, 2021.
Ms. Miao Cui, 66, lives near Meixiqiao Market and has been paralyzed for years as a result of being persecuted. She was harassed at home by Fang Yu, director of the Lou District 610 Office around 4 p.m., June 18, 2021.
Ms. Liang Lihong, 71, lives in the Dongmaoling Sub-district. She was harassed at home by local a community staff member and police officers in early June 2021. They told her to go with them to the Dongbaoling Police Station. At the station, she was asked if she still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Yuan Yuzhen, 74, lives in Yueci Community in the Qijialing Sub-district. The local community staff members knocked on her door three times in June 2021. They told her not to go out or tell people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Wang Lan received a call from Zeng Qinghong, director of Gujing Community in the Wulipai Sub-district on June 25, 2021. Zeng wanted to make sure that Ms. Wang was at home.
Ms. Zhang Xiaowei’s husband received a call from Liu Ying in the Baiyangpo Community Office around June 25, 2021. Liu Ying wanted to meet Ms. Zhang to “have a talk.”
Ms. Li Xiaoyang’s daughter received a call from the local community staff on June 25, 2021. They wanted to know if her mother still practiced Falun Gong.
Mr. Li Chengzuo, 79, was harassed at home by local village officials on June 12, 2021. He was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. They threatened him and said that three generations of his family would be implicated if he refused to sign, that they would encounter difficulties joining the army, finding a job, entering school, etc.
Mr. Li was harassed at home again on June 15, 2021. Town and village officials and two police officers went to his home. Mr. Li still refused to sign a guarantee statement. They threatened to cancel his agricultural benefit, to prevent his children from getting a job, refuse to give permission to remodel his old house, and refuse to allow four generations of his family to take the civil service exam. Mr. Li still refused to sign.
Ms. Chen Xiurong was harassed by local community staff members and officers on the afternoon of June 28, 2021. She stopped them from checking her cell phones or taking photos of her.
Ms. Huang Yefeng from the Jiangbei Community in the Fancheng District was harassed at home by two people on the morning of June 30, 2021. They tried to trick Ms. Huang’s son into signing a guarantee statement but failed.
No.853 Farm Police Station officers went to Ms. Wu Meihong’s home in late May 2021 and took Ms. Wu to the police department. Officer Yuan Changxiao tried to force Ms. Wu to write the three statements, but Ms. Wu refused.
Two officers were called in. One held Ms. Wu’s hand and the other held the paper. When they tried to force her to write, Ms. Wu struggled and refused to cooperate. They held her hands to force her to sign. She was in great pain and her hands shook. The words on the paper were unrecognizable. Then they decided to write the statement themselves. They grabbed Ms. Wu’s hand and pressed her fingerprint on it.
