1. [Beijing] Mr. Li Wencai and Wife Ms. Li Sujuan Face Trial

Mr. Li Wencai and his wife, Ms. Li Sujuan, face trial. Their case was submitted to the Fangshan District Court by the Fangshan District Procuratorate on May 14, 2021.

Mr. Li was persecuted for practicing Falun Gong many times. He was subjected to forced labor for 18 months on March 1, 2002, arrested on May 29, 2015, and sentenced to 12 months in prison on November 26, 2015.

Mr. Li and his wife were arrested by officers from the Liulihe Police Station on April 18, 2020, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their home was ransacked. Police seized their Falun Gong books, computers, printers, and other items. They were released on bail on April 19, 2020.

2. [Linxia City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhao Yujie and Mr. Chen Yongsen Sentenced

Mr. Zhao Yujie and Mr. Chen Yongsen were arrested in February 2020, and taken to a detention center in early November 2020. They were tried secretly and sentenced to nine-years and nine-years-and-six-months in prison, respectively. They are incarcerated in the Baiyin Prison.

Mr. Chen Yongsen, around 65, is a retiree from Ganguang Factory. He is blind in both eyes due to work.

Mr. Zhao Yujie, around 48, worked for the Xining Forestry Bureau. He was fired for practicing Falun Gong.

3. [Linxia County, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Jia Chunzhen, Mr. Song Zongxiao, and Mr. Li Jiankui are in their 70s. They were arrested and taken to a detention center by Zhao Wenjie the director of the Linxia County Police Department, Domestic Security Division officer Qi, and others. At the end of December 2020, Mr. Jia was secretly sentenced to four years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan; Mr. Song was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Mr. Li was also tried secretly and sentenced. He has appealed. They have been incarcerated in the Lanzhou Prison for more than three months. Their family visits were denied.

4. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Ding Xiaolan Faces Trial

Ms. Ding Xiaolan, in her 60s, was transferred to the Xianning City Detention Center in mid-May 2021. She was formally arrested by the Xian’an District Procuratorate and faces trial.

She was arrested on the morning of April 10, 2021, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center, but the guards would not admit her. She was held at the Yong’an Police Station overnight and taken to the Xian’an District Detention Center on the morning of April 11. She was held there for five days, then transferred to Tongcheng County Detention Center.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Jiao Qing’e of Jiaozhou City was arrested on the afternoon of June 2, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Zhang Meixiang (gender unknown) was arrested for practicing Falun Gong the same day.

Jiaozhou area practitioners, Ms. Song Guiqin, Ms. Gao Xiu’e, Mr. Huang Yuqiang, Mr. Ji Jinmu, Ms. Wang Ruilian, Ms. Wang Ruilan, and Gao Kaihua (gender unknown) were arrested on June 2, 2021.

Song Jihua (gender unknown) of Huangbuling Village, Jiaozhou City was arrested on the afternoon of June 2, 2021. Song’s home was ransacked. Song is being held at the Ducun Police Station.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioners Arrested or Forced to Leave Home

Ms. Zhang Ke was taken to a brainwashing center around June 1, 2021.

Ms. Li Rongfen and Ms. Wu Caiju were repeatedly harassed at home by clerks from the street and community. They were pressured to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong, and were threatened because they refused to do it. They fled home to avoid further persecution.

Mr. Zheng Xiaoqi stayed away from home after being harassed during the “zero-out” campaign.

Zhang Wei (gender unknown) was suspected of being arrested at work.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Lianying and Ms. Tian Aiying Harassed

Ms. Sun Lianying was harassed at home by three officers led by village committee head Zhang Xiuhai around 11:30 a.m. on May 28, 2021. They questioned her about her son’s name and cell phone number. Instead of answering their questions, she asked them for their names. They gave no answer, instead, they seized the picture of Falun Gong's founder and her Falun Gong calendar. Ms. Suna stood in front of her door and tried to get the picture back. The intruders shoved her aside and left. 

Around 5:00 p.m. the same day, police went to Ms. Tian Aiying’s home, ordered her to write a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong. They wrote down her husband’s name and cell number and left.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Tian Qimei Harassed

Ms. Tian Qimei was harassed at home by officer Zhou Jing from the Shuanglong Police Station and clerk Wang Wu of the residential committee around 4:00 p.m. on June 4, 2021. They tried to force her to sign “four guarantee statements” renouncing Falun Gong. She refused. They left half an hour later.

9. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Zhanhe and Wife Harassed

Mr. Zhang Zhanhe and his wife, Ms. Shi Yulan, were stopped by two officers when they just left home on May 7, 2021. The officers demanded to enter their home and asked if they still practiced Falun Gong. They did not comply. One officer tried to photograph Mr. Zhang. He refused. The officers then asked for their daughter's information. They did not answer.

10. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Yin Qiuhuan (gender unknown) was arrested at home by officers from the Shisanzhan Police Station on the morning of June 6, 2021. Another practitioner, a senior citizen (name and gender unknown) were arrested by officers from the Shisanzhan Police Station in the Shisanzhan Open Market.

11. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yufeng Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yufeng was arrested on June 6, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Details are unknown.

12. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Shuzhen’s Home Ransacked

Ms. Gao Shuzhen’s home was ransacked on June 7, 2021, by seven officers from the Tangyuan Police Station, Linqing Domestic Security Division, and the Liaocheng Domestic Security Division, including the deputy head of Linqing Domestic Security Division. The officers seized a Hp451 printer, two Canon printers, three boxes of printer paper, four boxes of glossy photo paper, a copy of a Falun Gong book, an Ebook, a radio, and a notebook computer.

She stayed away from home to avoid further persecution.

13. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Baoqiong and Fan Huiying Harassed

Ms. Chen Baoqiong’s home was ransacked by officer Liu Yong and others from the Domestic Security Division at the end of May 2021. The officers ordered her to “admit guilt” in court. Ms. Chen, 79, firmly refused.

Ms. Fan Huiying, 67, was harassed at home by officer Wang Zhongzhen and others from the Yujin Town Police Station at 3:00 p.m. on June 2, 2021. They ordered her not to distribute Falun Gong flyers. Wang took a picture of her. She told him that what he did was illegal.

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Wang Jinlan Harassed

Wang Jinlan (gender unknown) was harassed at home by community leader Liu Libo around 4:00 p.m. on June 7, 2021. Liu demanded Wang sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong. Liu said she would report Wang if he/she did not sign.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Taken to Prison

Fourteen practitioners, including Mr. Meng Xiangqi and Ms. Fu Guihua, were sentenced to seven to nine years in prison and fined 3,000 to 5,000 yuan by the Lishu County Court on February 26, 2021. They appealed, but the Siping City Intermediate Court affirmed the sentences.

Mr. Meng Xiangqi, 38, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. Mr. Wang Dongji, 41, was sentenced to seven years in prison. Mr. Jiang Tao, 47, was sentenced to nine years in prison. Mr. Hou Hongqing, 50, was sentenced to seven years in prison. They were taken to the Gongzhuling Prison on June 3, 2021.

16. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional News on Practitioners’ Arrest

Mr. Li Wanjiang, his wife, Ms. Wang Guixiang, and their son, a non-practitioner, were taken away from their home by six or seven officers from the Dalian City Police Department on the evening of June 2, 2021. The officers ransacked their home and seized Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and many other items. Mr. Li and his son were released at 1:00 a.m. Ms. Wang is still in police custody.

Yang (first name and gender unknown) was arrested by officers from the Lingshui Police Station on the morning of June 3, 2021. The officers ransacked Yang’s home.

Ms. Zhang Lianhua and her husband were arrested by officers from the Beijingjie Police Station on June 2, 2021. The officers seized her printer, Falun Gong books and materials. Her husband was released the same day. She was released on bail on June 4, 2021.

Mr. Sun Xiujun was arrested at home on June 2, 2021. His computer, printer, and other items were confiscated.

Ying Ying (gender unknown) was arrested at home at 9:00 p.m. on June 2, 2021.

Ms. Zhang Min and her husband were arrested by officers from the Heishijiao Police Station on June 3, 2021. They were released on bail at night.

Wang (first name and gender unknown) was arrested at home by officers from the Bayilu Police Station on June 2, 2021. The officers seized his notebook computer, a printer, and other items.

Liu Zhonghua (gender unknown) was arrested.

17. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional News on Ms. Cui Yan’s Arrest

Officers from the Lijiajie Police Station, led by deputy director Zhang Wei, ransacked Ms. Cui Yan’s home on June 3, 2021. They seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, three notebook computers, an inkjet printer, and other items. She tried to stop them. They shoved her to the ground and handcuffed her. As a result, her wrists were swollen and her arms were bruised. The officers searched the place from 8:00 a.m. to noon, then took her and her husband to the police station.

She did not cooperate during interrogation and refused to sign. Her husband was released at noon on June 4. She was given physical exams in the Second Hospital and the Center Hospital in the afternoon and failed both exams. The police had her undergo a third exam in the Police Hospital that night. Even though she failed again, the officers took her to the Dalian Detention Center at 11:30 p.m. The center refused to admit her because of her physical exam results. The officer then called her family to pick her up, but ordered her to sign the “release on bail” document in the police station on June 7.

18. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xiong Xiaolin Persecuted

Mr. Xiong Xiaolin, an electrical engineer, also works as a substitute teacher in the Wuhan Engineering Profession Institute. He takes the train and commutes between Huangshi and Wuhan every week. Last week, three officers stopped him in the Wuchang Railroad Station after he swiped his identity card at the entrance. The officers searched his bag, videotaped the process, and checked his cell phone. They found a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and the audio file of the founder’s lecture. They ordered him to delete them. He refused. They deleted them and warned him not to come to Wuhan again. He said, “I am a Chinese citizen. Why can't I come to Wuhan?” The officer said that it was because he had been imprisoned in the Shayang Prison.

19. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Ganlin and Mr. Fan Yanqi Arrested

Mr. Li Ganlin and Mr. Fan Yanqi were arrested at the home of practitioner Zhao (first name and gender unknown) by officers from the Huanxiu Police Station on June 3, 2021.

20. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Haiquan Detained Beyond Time Limit

Mr. Liu Haiquan has been detained beyond the sentence against him during a trial by the Domestic Security Division. Police threatened him and his family with heavy sentences of seven years in prison if they did not cooperate.

21. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Guo Hongshan Detained

Mr. Guo Hongshan was arrested by officers from the Hepingdajie Police Station on May 26, 2021. He is being held in the Funing County Detention Center.

22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Shi Xuan Disappeared

Mr. Shi Xuan, 70, was taken away by clerks from the Changjiang Community and agents from a brainwashing center on the afternoon of June 3, 2021. Those people stated the CCP turned 100 this year and ordered practitioners to write three statements renouncing Falun Gong. Mr. Shi’s whereabouts are unknown.

23. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Xinhua Arrested

Ms. Liu Xinhua of Hengyang City was arrested at her son’s home in Changsha City on June 4, 2021, after someone photographed and reported her while she posted a Falun Gong flyer. She is the caregiver of her newborn grandchild and her husband who is recuperating from a stroke.

24. [Tianjin] Ms. Jiang Guangfeng’s Fingerprints Taken Forcibly

Ms. Jiang Guangfeng, 75, was physically abused in the Fanghua Community Residential Committee office on the afternoon of June 7, 2021. When she refused to sign documents, committee director Zhu Zhen and about ten officers forcibly placed her fingerprints on them. 

The officers grabbed her hands. As a result, her index finger, middle finger, and ring finger were bruised and swollen. They slapped her face. An officer took off his shocks and used them to gag her. After they forcibly took her fingerprints, she was exhausted as a result of her struggle. Two community clerks had to help her walk home because she could not do it without their support on each side of her. She could not breathe deeply due to the pain in her right armpit.

25. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Brainwashed

Ms. Cao Bingfang, Mr. Xu Qinli, and an elderly female practitioner (name unknown) were forced to undergo brainwashing by Feng Dayong, head of the Xintai Domestic Security Division in the end of May 2021. They were taken to the police department and forced to watch videos defaming Falun Gong, write “guarantee statements” renouncing Falun Gong, and press their fingerprints on them.

26. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Mr. Gao Wenhuan of Wuchang City and his wife, Ms. Xue Guilan, were harassed at home by four officers from the Xinglong Township Police Station on the afternoon of June 3, 2021. An officer asked Ms. Xue if she still practiced Falun Gong. Another one used a cell phone to take a picture of the couple with the three officers.

The four officers then went to Ms. Gao Hongxia’s home. After 12:00 p.m. the next day, three officers went to Ms. Gao’s home, and tried to take a picture of her. She stopped them.

27. [Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wen Dongqing Harassed

The police broke down the door of Ms. Wen Dongqing’s home. She was not there. The officers illegally searched her home.

28. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Xiuhua Faces Trial

Ms. Zhou Xiuhua’s case was submitted to the Hanyang District Court by the Hanyang District Procuratorate on June 3, 2021.

Her case was first dismissed by the procuratorate in mid-March 2021. Her husband submitted documents for her acquittal to the Wujiashan Police Station in early April 2021. But the police station resubmitted the case to the procuratorate on April 18.
