(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 15 provinces, where at least 94 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Gang, 78, from the Shahekou District was born in March 1943. She will be released on July 1, 2021.
Ms. Li was arrested on March 8, 2016. Her home was ransacked and many personal belongings were confiscated. She was released on May 27, 2016.
Ms. Li was arrested again on March 22, 2018, and was sentenced to seven years in prison. She appealed to the Dalian Intermediate Court and was granted a retrial. The sentence was reduced to half. She was sent to the Liaoning Women’s Prison on October 22, 2019.
It was learned that Mr. Teng Yuguo was sentenced to five years in prison by the Yuhong District Court. His daughter participated in the trial via her phone. The information needs to be confirmed.
Mr. Zheng Dahai, 48, from the Zhongshan District was arrested on April 2, 2021. His home was ransacked. He was detained in a detention center. He has now been formally arrested.
Guo Airong (gender unknown) was arrested in April 2021 and was detained for two weeks. Guo was constantly harassed at home and was pressured to sign a guarantee statement.
The family members of Mr. Wang Ligui received multiple calls to pressure him to go to the community office.
Ms. Wang Hui and Mr. Zhang Guangli were arrested and taken to the Baiyin Detention Center on June 2, 2021. It was learned that they have been placed under formal arrest and will be taken to the Gansu Province Prison before July 1, 2021.
Ms. Li Shuiqing was tried in the Yongxiu County Court on May 26, 2021. She was not allowed to defend herself. Ms. Li will be tried again.
Ms. Zhao Lili, 76, lives in the Yonglian Community, Zhongshan Park Street, Shahe District. She has been harassed multiple times.
Seven people in plainclothes from the local community and the local police station came to her home around 11 a.m., on May 20, 2021. They kept knocking on her door for more than ten minutes.
Two women and one man came and knocked on her door in April 2021.
Ms. Zhao was arrested near the building where she lived on April 18, 2019. She was carried to her home on the 7thfloor by several men. They ransacked her home and then took her to the local police station.
Zhao Youqin (gender unknown) was arrested and taken to the Zhongyun Police Station on June 2, 2021. Several other practitioners were also arrested.
Mr. Zhou Sanyong lives in Yanjiao Town, Sanhe City. When visiting his hometown in Taihe County, Mr. Zhou was arrested on January 22, 2021, for posting stickers with information about Falun Gong. He was detained in the Taihe County Detention Center.
Four police officers from the Taihe County Police Department and the State Police Department in Beijing came to Mr. Zhou’s home in Yanjiao Town on May 28, 2021. They ransacked his home and confiscated 110,000 yuan in cash.
Yi Qiuhuan (gender unknown) from Shishan Town was arrested at home by officers from the Shishan Town Police Station on the morning of June 6, 2021. Another elderly practitioner whose name and gender are unknown was arrested in the Shishan Town Market. Both practitioners were placed in 15-day detention and detained in the Jinzhou City Detention House.
Two officers from the Xiadian Police Station in Dachang County went to the home of Zhao Yuqing (gender unknown) around 8 p.m., June 7, 2021. They claimed to check the household registration. As soon as they entered they used their cell phones and started to videotape around the place. When they saw the poster on the wall that read “Falun Dafa is good,” they asked, “Do you practice Falun Gong? Are you alone at home?” Zhao answered yes. They left.
Mr. Liu Shulin is scheduled to be tried in court on June 22, 2021.
Ms. Yang Shurong from Luanjin Village, Lingshui Sub-district, was arrested by several officers from the Lingshui Police Station on June 3, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her Dafa books and exercise teaching CDs were confiscated. She was detained for six days and was released on June 9, 2021.
Four officers from the Development District came around 6:30 a.m., on June 5, 2021, to harass Mr. Chen Hengzhong who lives in Xi’anchen Village.
They came to Ms. Zhang Yuqin’s home in Qianxu Village around 7 a.m., June 5, 2021. They confiscated a Dafa book and a media player. Ms. Zhang was taken to the police station for interrogation. She was released at noon.
Now they are looking for Ms. Zhang’s husband Mr. Xu Hongliang. Mr. Xu has left his home to avoid further persecution.
Mr. Wang Zhong, 88, and his wife Chen Xianfang, 81, live in Qiaonian Village, Linfeng Town, Anyue County. Four people including the director of the town's Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the director of the town 610 Office, and the director of the town comprehensive management office, went to the couple’s home on the afternoon of May 28, 2021. They told the couple that it was okay for them to practice at home. They warned the couple not to meet with other practitioners or distribute any materials related to Falun Gong. They said these were orders from the higher authorities.
Qu XX, head of the Zhouling Police Station, and the village official Wang Lei came to Mr. Wu Fugui’s home on June 8, 2021, with the excuse of a visit. When they found Dafa books and the photo of Falun Gong's founder, they called several people to come and search his home. About 80 Dafa books, 100 copies of Minghui Weekly and CDs were confiscated.
Three practitioners Ms. Song Guiqin, Ms. Gao Xiu’e and Mr. Ji Jinmu were arrested. Ms. Song is detained in the Zhongyun Police Station. Ms. Gao Xiu’e is detained in the Puji Police Station. Mr. Ji Jinmu is detained in the Zhongyun Police Station. Mr. Ji has been interrogated by officers from the Domestic Security Division every day for eight days.
Several practitioners were arrested at home by officers from the Xiangyang Police Station on June 10, 2021. Their homes were ransacked. It was learned that the following practitioners were arrested: Zhang Yulian, Zhang Tao, Wang Weilin, Gong Youbin, Wang Guizhen, Wang Xinmin, and Zhang Cunlan. Some of them have been released.
The Zhaoyuan City Political and Legal Affairs Committee has recently actively participated in the CCP’s “Zero-out Campaign.” Many practitioners and their family members have been harassed. Some received harassing phone calls. Others were harassed at their homes. They or their family members were pressured to sign guarantee statements.
The following is a partial list of the practitioners who have been harassed: Yuan Mingju, Pan Yilan, Li Yingzhi, Yang Jinzhi, Zhong Weizhi, Yang Yufeng, Sun Yansheng, Dong Cuirong, Yin Xuelan, Li Lanying, Chen Xihuan, Xu Wenying, Pan Xinmei, Chen Shuhua, Zhong Xiuyan, Li Yufeng, Li Weixia, Wang Meifen, Zhu Jiehua, Sun Yuanqi, Ding Lanhua, Teng Shuyun, Fang Shuxiang, and Feng Shuqing.
Three practitioners, Ms. Fu Yan, Ms. Chen Xitao, and Mr. Guo Libin, were arrested on June 10, 2021. Their homes were ransacked and many personal belongings were confiscated. Further details are unknown.
Four officers from the Hualin Police Station including Zhang Hua, head of the police station, came to Ms. Zhu Yanhua’s home on June 4, 2021. Ms. Zhu was told that she was placed under 6-month residential surveillance.
Mr. Lin Jilong is a retired worker from the No. 615 Factory in Baoji City. He was pursued by the Baoji City Social Security Department for his pension while he was imprisoned and his pension was directly deducted. Mr. Lin sued the Baoji City Social Security Department for violation of the law. He was notified that a public hearing will be held in the Weibin District Court at 9 a.m., June 22, 2021.
More than a hundred police officers were dispatched to arrest practitioners in Jiaozhou City on June 2, 2021.
Mr. Song Xinjian and his house helper were arrested on June 2, 2021. Ms. Chen, wife of Mr. Xu Yanzhong was also arrested on the same day. Mr. Xu Yanzhong was arrested a few days later. The homes of the two families were ransacked.
Ms. Zhang Meixiang, Ms. Ji Hong, Ms. Ji’s mother, and Zhao (first name and gender are unknown) were also arrested on June 2, 2021.
Two officers from Fangxia Town in Laiwu District and one village official from Liangjiazhuang Village came to the home of Liang Huaying (gender unknown) around 3 p.m., June 10, 2021. They wanted to know if Liang still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Xie Jinping was tricked to leave her home and was later arrested by five officers on June 2, 2021. She is now detained in the Yongxiu County Police Department. Her family was told that she would be released on June 16, 2021. The reason for her arrest is unknown.
Li Yan (gender unknown) was at work when four or five officers from the Daxing Police Station came and told her to go with them to the Daxing Law Enforcement Center on the afternoon of June 7, 2021. She was sent back on the same day.
Ms. Qiu Dongyun has been taken to the Daxing Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Jiahua was arrested in June 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her family was told that she would be detained for 10 days.
Ms. Liu Dongmei was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of June 10, 2021, for distributing truth-clarifying materials.
Ms. Xi Guoxiu has been harassed repeatedly by people from the Wuyuanli Community Office in the Hanyang District. Her husband has also received harassing calls and was pressured to transfer their household registration address to another location.
Ms. Xi was missing after she left home on the morning of May 24, 2021. Her family inquired about her and learned that she was taken to a brainwashing center. The details are unknown.
Officers from the Yuantou Town Police Station and the village officials threatened the grandson of Ms. He Xuping on May 11, 2021. He was told that he and his family would be implicated if his grandmother still practiced Falun Gong. Ms. He’s grandson forcefully took Ms. He to the police station and forced her to sign a guarantee statement. The police officers also harassed practitioners Gong Junjun and Zhao Caizi.
Officers from the Longmen Police Station and village officials in Buguzhang Village, Meijiazhuang Village, and Nanxule Village, harassed several practitioners including Ms. Zhang Yun’e, Yulan, Tingzi, Yumei, Aimei, Zhang Yinxiang, Hu Panling, Bai Ruijie, Liu Zengshan, Zhao Shuangju, Zhang Wenshu, and others. Ms. Zhang Yun’e in her 80s was harassed at home on the afternoon of April 27, 2021. They took photos and asked whether she still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Yu Shufen, 87, from Shijingshan District was followed by police for distributing truth-clarifying materials in April 2021. Her home was ransacked.
Fifteen practitioners were arrested by officers from the Wujia Town Police Station, the Domestic Security Division, and the Tongzhou District 610 Office on May 13, 2021 when they were reading Zhuan Falun. They were taken to a brainwashing center. Three of them including Shi Meilian, Shen Yafang, and Xia Yuping were not released with the others. Shi Meilian is still detained. Shen Yafang in her 80s was released on bail pending trial. She suffered severe bleeding from the lower part of her body while she was detained. Xia Yuping, who was previously subjected to forced labor and a jail sentence, has now been released.
Ms. Zhou Yuqin was arrested with seven other practitioners in April or May 2019 when they were reading Zhuan Falun together. Ms. Zhou was detained for 15 days and was then taken to the Yushunshan Brainwashing Center in the Jianghan District. She was detained there for more than nine months and was released just two days before Wuhan City was locked down due to the pandemic.
Towards the end of Ms. Zhou's detention in the brainwashing center, she was punished every day by being forced to stand at attention from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. She was not given enough food—only about 50 grams per meal. The situation improved a little after she passed out due to hunger.
Ms. Zhou was harassed at home by a group of people just after Chinese New Year in 2021. Later several people came to harass her again. Ms. Zhou had to leave her home to avoid further persecution, but her son kept receiving harassing calls.
In May 2021, two men and two women drove to the city where a relative of Ms. Zhou lives. As soon as they entered they immediately began videotaping the interior. Their continuous harassment caused Ms. Zhou to leave home again. The son of Ms. Zhou’s relative kept receiving harassment calls.
Ms. Meng Hongmei, 52, was reported to police when she distributed truth-clarifying booklets in Tiexi District on May 31, 2021. Two officers were waiting for her when she arrived at home. They threatened to arrest her. Later that day Ms. Meng also received a call from an officer from the Beita District Police Department.
The son of Ms. Huo Huixian, 75, and the son of Ms. Li Fenghua, 70, received a call from the police department almost at the same time on May 31, 2021. They were pressured to take photos of their mothers and send them to the police department.
Ms. Wang Yi lives in Pufang Industry Zone in Chibi City and sometimes visits her son who lives in Wuhan City. Ms. Wang was body searched when she was about to take a train in Wuchang Railway Station. The railway police officers found a SIM card in her purse that contained Falun Gong information. She was arrested and was later released on bail pending trial for one year. Her son’s home in Wuhan City and her home in Chibi City were ransacked. More than 40 Dafa books were confiscated.
Ms. Wang was harassed at her son’s home and was pressured to leave Wuhan City. When she was in the Wuhan Railway Station, her cell phone was confiscated by police.
On the morning of May 4, 2021, Ms. Chen Xiaojun received a WeChat message from Qi Yan who used to be a practitioner but now cooperates with police. Qi Yan asked where Ms. Chen was. Soon Ms. Chen received a call from a local police officer. That evening, Qi Yan and some police officers came to Ms. Chen’s home after she returned home from work. They pressured Ms. Chen to sign the five statements and threatened to harass her children in school if she refused. They stayed until 10 p.m. that night.
Ms. Chen received a call from Qi Yan the next day on May 5, 2021, just after she returned home from work. Qi Yan was already waiting downstairs. Qi didn’t leave until after 10 p.m.
Ms. Chen received a call again from Qi Yan on the morning of May 6, 2021. She threatened that Ms. Chen would be sent to a brainwashing center if she still refused to sign the five statements.
When Ms. Chen returned home on the evening of May 8, 2021, she was shocked to see Qi Yan sitting inside her home. Qi didn’t leave until 9 p.m.
