(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 9provinces, where at least 115 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Peng Shuming of Gaotang County was arrested by officers from the Baicheng Police Department, Jilin Province, around April 10, 2021, for posting messages about the persecution of Falun Gong in WeChat. He was formally arrested and is being held in the Taonan Detention Center, Jilin Province.
Mr. Miao Yongli and his wife, Ms. Niu Ruiying were arrested by officers from the local police station after 5:00 a.m on May 12, 2021. Their home was ransacked. They were detained for 15 days in a detention house. Mr. Miao was transferred to the Luanzhou City Detention Center on May 27. Ms. Niu was released the same day. She was arrested again and is being held in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Rong Shufen and her family have been harassed at least three times this year.
Two women went to her home on the afternoon of April 6, 2021, as part of CCP’s zero-out campaign re-visit. They demanded her husband “cooperate” and denounce Falun Gong on her behalf in front of a camcorder. He refused.
Next, they went to her husband’s work unit and demanded his boss put pressure on him. Her husband turned off his cell phone the next day and dared not take any unknown calls for the next three weeks.
On May 15, he received a call from the Chengxi Police Station. The caller demanded to know where his wife Ms. Rong was.
The last harassment took place on May 25.
Ms. Xie Lijuan was harassed at home on the afternoon of May 31, 2021, by community clerks, including Li Haijun, and officer Tang from the Guilin Road Police Station. They asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. She gave no answer.
Li and Tang started videotaping using a police camcorder once they entered the place. When a woman took a photo with her cell phone, Ms. Xie stopped her.
Ms. Xie’s phone has been monitored. Her mother is worried about her but is afraid to answer any phone calls.
Officers from the Zanhuang County Police Department and police stations harassed and threatened practitioners and their families between March 26 and May 27, 2021. If a practitioner was not at home, they called his or her family and threatened to block their children from joining the army, going to college, or being hired by the government if the practitioner did not give up his or her belief. They photographed practitioners against their will and videotaped inside and outside of the practitioners’ homes.
Officers from the Zhangleng Township Police Station seized Falun Gong books and materials from practitioners’ homes. The following practitioners were harassed: Zhang Xue’e, Ren Shuzi, Zhao Xuzhuo, Zhang Ping’e, Wang Xiaoju, Gu Heini, Jun Lu, Du Weizhen, Shi Sujie, Guo Zhumei, Li Baoqin, An Jianzhong, Liu Zengliang, Liu Zenghua, Liu Huanjin, An Hongying, Yan Shufang, Gui Rong, Shi Rongsu, Chen Yaying, Shi Juying, Wang Jinwei, Hao Zhanju, Jing Ru, Gui Ju, Li Jianrui, Shang Guizhen, Han Suwei, Chu Xiumin, Cao Quanru, Gang Lou, Xiu Wei, Zhang Yinxiang, Wu Jinshu, He Xuping, Gong Junjun, Zhao Shuangju, Liu Jinai, Mi Dazhu, Zhao Caizi, Ai Xiang, Gu Guirong, Fan Suxiang, Liu Zengshan, Bai Ruijie, Hu Panling, Shi Xu’e, Song Fengchen, Lan Qu, Wang Lianying, Yu Lan, Ai Mei, Yu Mei, Ting Zi, Er Gou, Zhang Wenshu, Zhu Yin, Xiu Yin, and Xiang Zi.
Ms. Chen Guizhi, in her 70s, was harassed at 10:00 a.m. on May 26, 2021, by a man and a woman led by community square leader Cong Lili. They claimed their boss made them come. They videotaped her and pressured her to sign statements denouncing Falun Gong. They demanded she cooperate and said they would come back if she did not obey. She did not cooperate.
Three more people came at 10:00 a.m. the next day, saying that it was part of the “zero-out” campaign. They had to videotape and get her signature, otherwise, they would lose their jobs.
Ms. Liu Liping and Ms. Xu Jiang were arrested by Zhemu Township police around 10:00 a.m. on June 2, 2021, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Rongcheng Police Station.
Ms. Wang Ruilian and Ms. Wang Ruilan were arrested around 5:00 p.m on June 2 2021. The Jiaozhou police ransacked their home and seized their notebook computers, printers, and other items.
Mr. Li Qiwen, Ms. Zhou Enbo, and Ms. Lu Guilan will be tried in court on June 4, 2021. Mr. Li was held in the Linqing City Detention Center.
The Henan Province 610 Office ordered residential committees and police stations to harass Xiangcheng City practitioners as part of the “zero-out” campaign around May 1, 2021. Clerks and officers threatened and deceived practitioners in order to make them write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. Wu Xiuying, Li Yuling, Han Cuimei, Niu (first name unknown), Cheng Lin, Feng Lei, and Zhou (first name unknown) were harassed.
Ms. Wang Shubo met her lawyer in the Jiamusi City Detention Center on May 30, 2021. She was formally arrested last month. Her case was submitted to the Xiangyang District Procuratorate.
Ms. Guo Ping was arrested on the evening of June 2, 2021. The community CCP secretary claimed Ms. Guo was attending an education session in the Huangpi District and would be back in several days, but this information was not confirmed.
Ms. Hou Chengfu disappeared around May 28 or 29 and has not been heard from.
Yang (first name and gender unknown) was arrested by officers from the Lingshui Police Station at 9:00 a.m. on June 3, 2021. Yang’s home was ransacked.
Ms. Xue Lijun’s home was ransacked by officer Gao Xiaobo and three others from the Chengxi Police Station of Mian County after 11:00 a.m. on June 3, 2021. They seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and several Falun Gong books. They photographed the interior of her home and ordered Ms. Xue to fill out forms. She refused.
Ms. Yang Xiaozhi’s husband received a call from the Kaiyuan Domestic Security Division on June 1, 2021. The caller demanded Ms. Yang to report to the Kaiyuan Police Department the next morning. She and her husband went to the police department on the morning of June 2. Officers ordered her to write “three statements” renouncing Falun Gong. She refused. The couple returned home that morning.
Ms. Song Shufen, around 60, was harassed at home by three officers from the Shaofu Town Police Station at 8:00 p.m. on May 9, 2021. This was the third time she was harassed by police.
Five or six clerks from the Shaofu Town Comprehensive Management Office went to Ms. Song’s home and harassed her after 8:00 a.m. on May 26, 2021. One of the women videotaped the entire process. Village CCP secretary Yang came with them as required.
After they left Ms. Song’s home the group went to Ms. Wu Lianfeng's home and harassed her. Ms. Wu, 77, lives alone. Her children work in another city. She was harassed three times by officers from the Shaofu Town Police Station and clerks from the Shaofu Town Comprehensive Management Office since April 2021.
Song Xiaomei (gender unknown) from Wafangdian City was arrested at home by officers from the Fude Police Station on the morning of June 1, 2021. The officers seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. Song is being held at the Dalian Detention Center and is subjected to criminal detention.
Mr. Zhang Yuexin of Wanglang Village distributed Falun Gong flyers after 9:00 p.m. on May 28, 2021. Officers from the Shengliqiao Police Station pretended to call for a cab after 6:00 p.m. the next day, lured Mr. Zhang to the gate of Hangang Hotel, and arrested him.
Mr. Zhang told the police that his mother was a practitioner and he distributed flyers for her. At 8:00 p.m., officers went to his home with a search warrant and seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. He was released at 10:00 p.m.
The following morning, May 30, village security director Wen Sanping and village CCP secretary Pei Hongbin went to his home, ordered him to report to the police station and write a guarantee statement denouncing Falun Gong.
He went to the police station and asked for his taxicab back on the morning June 1. An officer told him to come back in the afternoon since the director was out. When he returned that afternoon, the police did not allow his family member to enter the police station with him. The officers ordered him to take a nucleic acid test and wanted to detain him. He refused and left.
He was forced to take a nucleic acid test on the morning of June 2. Wen Sanping and officer Hao Zhixuan forced him the write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong in the afternoon. They planned to detain him for five days after his nucleic acid test result was available.
His taxicab is still being held in the police station.
Mr. Ji Jinmu’s home was ransacked on the morning of June 2, 2021. Many items were taken from his home by plainclothes officers. Mr. Ji disappeared.
Ms. Song Guiqin, Gao Kaihua (gender unknown), Ms. Gao Xiu’e, and Mr. Huang Yuqiang were arrested the same day. Their whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Sun Manyuan of Yanzhuang Village was arrested at home by seven or eight people from the Huanghuadian Police Station and town government after 8:00 p.m. on June 2, 2021. Eight practitioners were visiting the place. They were arrested at the scene, taken to the police station, and held separately. Police then ransacked local practitioners’ homes one by one. Mr. Li Changhai, Mr. Sun Guangqi, Ms. Zhang Fengjing, Ms. Sun Lixin, Ms. Wang Shuxiang, Ms. Zhao Xiang and Mr. Sun Yida were among the arrested. Mr. Sun Guangqi and Ms. Zhang Fengjing were released several hours later. Ms. Zhao and non-local practitioners were taken to a detention center. Others are still being held at the police station.
Mr. Guo Hongshan was arrested by officers from the Heping Boulevard Police Station.
Mr. Cao Zhifang and his wife, Ms. Yang Fang, were arrested in 2020. They have been detained for eight months. The Liuyang City Procuratorate submitted their case to the Liuyang City Court. When Mr. Cao’s lawyer went to visit him the detention center denied his request.
Ms. Wu Junping was taken to the Shijiazhuang City Woman’s Prison on May 18, 2021.
Ms. Wu was arrested at home on June 6, 2020. She was tried in the Gaoyang County Court on December 1, 2020. The court notified her family on December 30. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan.
She appealed. Her family received the decision from the Baoding Intermediate Court on May 14, 2021. The appeal court affirmed her sentence.
Ms. Cui Yan disappeared on June 3, 2021. It is believed that she was arrested. She and her husband, a non-practitioner, had no contact since the afternoon. No one was at their home even after 9:00 p.m. Cigarette butts were found on the ground near their door. It looked like someone was standing outside and watching their home.
Mr. Yu Xiangjia was arrested and interrogated by officers from the Shenyang Railroad Bureau and the Zhanqian Police Station, Dalian, when he was boarding a train for a business trip on May 23, 2019. He has been held in the Dalian City Detention Center since May 25, 2019.
His wife was arrested by officers from the Shenyang Railroad Bureau and the Zhanqian Police Station in Dalian, on May 26, 2019. She was held in the Dalian City Detention Center over five months. She was not charged due to insufficient evidence.
Officers from the Shenyang Railroad Bureau and the Zhanqian Police Station, Dalian, harassed their children and parent. Mr. Yu’s father, 78, lives alone in the countryside. Police went to ransack his place at night. The father was asleep and was frightened. He was diagnosed with final stage of lung cancer and admitted to ICU on May 27, 2021.
Li Guihua (gender unknown) and Liu Suxiang (gender unknown) were arrested by officers from the Xinggong Police Station on the afternoon of June 3, 2021, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Dongwei Supermarket. They were given a 15-day detention.
Mr. Yan Fulu was taken to the Suncun Police Station on May 20, 2021, after officers interrogated him at home. He was released that night.
An agent from Jinan City 610 Office ordered him to come to the police station to get his cell phone the next day. When he arrived at the police station, he was taken to the Zhonggong Detention Center for 15 days of detention. 610 Office agents told his family not to pick him up until they got a phone notification on June 5.
Mr. Mo Xinzhong of Xiajin County was arrested by officers from the Gaotang County Police Department on May 30, 2021.
Officers from the Xiangzhao Town Police Station ransacked Mr. Mo’s home around 1:00 p.m. on May 31, 2021. They seized his Falun Gong books, 100 copies of Falun Gong flyers, three copies of Minghui Weekly, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and other items. The police watched him and did not allow him to leave home.
Ms. Huo Hongxia was arrested by seven or eight officers from the Xiajin County Chengqu Police Department on May 31, 2021. They confiscated her cell phone and computer. That afternoon, they searched her home and her mother’s home, seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. She was interrogated in the police department until 9:00 p.m. She did not cooperate and was taken to the Xiajin County Domestic Security Division. They ordered her to sign paperwork and press her fingerprints. She did not comply. They ordered her to sit on an electric chair. She refused. She was released around 4:00 p.m. on June 1.
Zuo Liande (gender unknown) was arrested the same day. Police ransacked Zuo’s home, seized Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and a truck. Zuo pressed his/her fingerprints and was released after 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Wei Anyue was harassed at home by seven people from the Jinchuan Road Police Station, street office, and Jinyangli Community around 10:40 p.m. on June 1, 2021. They ordered him to sign the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. He refused. They left after 1:00 a.m.
