(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhu Chaobing Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhu Chaobing, 73, received a notice, on January 6, 2021, to appear at the Shifang City Court. The court had announced that she was released on bail for one year.

Ms. Zhu was tried at 3:30 p.m. on April 16, 2021. She was sentenced to one year in prison and immediately taken to prison. She is being held in the Deyang City Supervision Center.

2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zheng Wenchao Arrested; Ms. Gan Yuefeng Tried; Mr. Gao Xiaoxiong Taken to Prison

Ms. Zheng Wenchao from Yi County was arrested and her home was ransacked by former deputy director Jing Mingzhong and officer Ding from the Chengqu Police Station on May 19, 2020. The Zhuozhou City Court officials told her that she would be sentenced to prison. She had to leave home and became displaced. She was recently arrested by Yi County police officers.

Ms. Gan Yuefeng from Changdongguan Village was also arrested on May 19, 2020, by former deputy Jing and others. She has been held in the Baoding Detention Center. She was tried by the Zhuozhou City Court on November 27, 2020. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Gao Xiaoxiong from Peishan Town was arrested by former deputy Jing and officer Liu Guodong on August 7, 2020, across provincial borders. He was taken to the Yi County Detention Center on August 15. He was officially placed under arrest on September 4. He was tried via video link by the Zhuozhou City Court on November 27. He was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. He appealed and the court upheld the original verdict on January 26, 2021. He was transferred from the Yi County Detention Center to the Jidong No. 4 Prison on March 17.

3. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Su Nan Taken to Detention Center

Su Nan (gender unknown) is being held in the Mianyang City Detention Center.

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zhengxun Harassed

Three officers from the Nancun Town Police Station, Pingdu City, broke into Mr. Li Zhengxun’s home in Lijiazhuang Village on April 11, 2021. They took photos of the couplet on his door and the blessing characters displayed inside his home. They asked him if he had a cell phone or computer or told anyone about Falun Gong. They asked for his national ID card and filled out a form, the content of which is not known.

5. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Hong’e Arrested

Ms. Chen Hong’e was arrested by officers from the Tanzhou Town Police Station on April 18, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Sheli Police Station in the Acheng District broke into the homes of Mr. Wang Fubin and Ms. Sui Jinghua and harassed them around 6:30 a.m. on April 19, 2021.

The railway police surrounded Ms. Yan Tingzhen’s home so that she couldn’t leave. They threatened to arrest her non-practitioner sister if she did not open the door by 2 p.m. that day.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chi Guixia Arrested

Ms. Chi Guixia was arrested at home by officers from the Tongxiang Street Police Station around 8 a.m. on April 19, 2021. By 1 p.m. she had not returned home.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chenhua Harassed

Two officers from the Bianfang Police Station in the Dalianwan area broke into elderly Ms. Li Chenhua’s home around 8:30 a.m. on April 16, 2021. They did not say anything or ask any questions, just videotaped the interior of her home. When she asked why, they said that they were just doing their job and it had nothing to do with her.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Residential officers from the Shisanlipu Police Station in the Jinpu New Area went twice to the home of Jiang Chun. Jiang was not there. They also went to the homes of Ms. Wang Yanhua, Gu, and Jiang and photographed all three practitioners.

10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xian Mingzhen Remains in Custody

Ms. Xian Mingzhen and Ms. Zeng Qingxiu from the Longquanyi District were arrested on May 26, 2020. Ms. Xian has not been released.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Mulan Taken to Prison

Ms. Liu Mulan from the Xinzhou District was arrested. In the first instance trial, she was secretly sentenced to four years in prison and fined 4,000 yuan. After she appealed, her verdict was upheld in the second instance. On April 19, her family called and learned that she had been transferred to Hankou Prison. Prison officials told her family that they could not visit her, citing the epidemic as the excuse.

12. [Tianjin] Ms. Jiang Shuyun Harassed

Ma Guoying, director of the Propaganda Department of Daliang Township, Wuqing District, who was also a staff member of 610 Office of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and Zhao Liankui, deputy town head, led by Yang Guoqing, Party secretary and head of Nansibaihu Village, went to Ms. Jiang Shuyun’s home and pressured her to sign a guarantee statement to give up practicing Falun Gong.

Yang Guoqing said, “If you don’t sign it, you won’t get a subsidy for your rations.” Yang also threatened to cut off her water and electricity if she did not sign.

According to regulations, each person is supposed to receive 2,000 yuan twice a year for rations or 4,000 yuan for the year. This policy remains effective for 30 years.

13. [Lezhi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Lihua’s Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Wu Lihua, in her 50s, is from the No. 5 Group, No. 2 Village, Tianchi Township. Over 12 Domestic Security officers broke into her home on March 4, 2021. They ransacked the place and confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Dafa books, weekly publications, and printed materials.

That night, they went to her home again to videotape and take pictures of her. Ms. Wu and her non-practitioner husband were arrested. Her husband was interrogated and released the following day. Ms. Wu’s cell phone was confiscated. There is no information about where she is being held.

14. [Yanbian Prefecture, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Changjun, a Key Player in 2002 TV Program Interception, Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Sun Changjun was sentenced to 17 years in prison for intercepting cable TV broadcasts in Changchun, in March 2002.

Seven people, including Wangqing County 610 Office officers, Domestic Security officers, and a neighbor of Mr. Sun, broke into where Mr. Sun was studying medicine and arrested him in the early morning hours of April 6, 2021.

That night, people learned from Mr. Sun that he and others were staying in a hotel in Dunhua City. The following day, people lost contact with Mr. Sun. It was reported that he was taken to the Yanji Brainwashing Center.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Harassed

Staff members of the Fukang Community Management Office harassed local practitioners. They knocked on their doors or called them on the phone. Several people got into practitioners’ homes, threatened them, and pressured them to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong.

Mr. Yang Mingjiu’s family alone has been harassed six or seven times.

16. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Cao, in her 70s, from the Wenquan District was arrested at home by police officers on April 1, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books. Liu Ning, head of the Domestic Security Division of Xianning City, said that surveillance cameras recorded Ms. Cao distributing information about Falun Gong.

Chalukou Police Station officers broke into 80-year-old Mr. Gong’s home in the Wenquan District and ransacked it on the afternoon of April 13. They confiscated his Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. They pressured Mr. Gong to sign and fingerprint paperwork.

Ms. Yang Xiaohua from the Wenquan District received a call from a stranger, who asked if she was Ms. Yang and if she was at home.
