Nebraska: Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert Proclaims Falun Dafa Week

(Minghui.org) May 13, 2021 is the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day and the 29th anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa. Mayor Jean Stothert of Omaha, Nebraska issued a proclamation of May 13-20 as Falun Dafa Week in the city.

The proclamation reads, “Those who practice Falun Dafa benefit from improved health and energy, mental clarity and reduced stress. Falun Dafa’s principles and peaceful exercises can help people overcome the stress associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Nebraska Falun Dafa Association offers free classes, participates in the Omaha Health Expo and Nebraska Asian Festival and offers outdoor exercise programs for all to attend.”

Background: What is Falun Dafa?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people have embraced the teachings—which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance as well as five gentle exercises—and experienced uplifted health and well-being.
