(Minghui.org) I’ve been going to sightseeing spots to talk to Chinese tourists about Falun Dafa and the persecution since I emigrated from China. However, starting from March 2020, with the outbreak of the (Chinese Communist Party) CCP virus [Covid-19], tourists from mainland China were no longer visiting Australian sightseeing spots. Because of that, we stopped going to those places. 

My husband, who is also a Falun Dafa practitioner, has been calling people in China to clarify the truth on the Rescue Platform, a website where Falun Dafa practitioners work together to call people in China to tell them about Falun Dafa and the persecution and to encourage them to quit the CCP and its affiliates. Encouraged by him, I joined the Rescue Platform in July 2020 as part of the Global Telephone Team. 

The people whom I call work in the judicial system – police departments, procuratorates, and the courts. When I was still in China, although I had clarified the facts to people face-to-face, I mostly talked to regular people, and had little interaction with anyone else. Since I left China, the people whom I came across at the sightseeing spots were also regular Chinese people.

I had hurdles to overcome when making calls. I was afraid that I couldn’t articulate my thoughts well, nor would I be able to answer questions raised by these people when they were arrogant, domineering and unreasonable. In addition, the telephone platform itself was a new environment for me, and it took me some time to get the hang of it. 

Once my husband noticed my problems, he shared with me, “As a practitioner one cannot be selective. One must awaken people's conscience no matter what kind of environment they are in, and no matter what kind of sentient beings they are. The process of reaching people with the truth is also a process of our cultivation.” 

Master said, 

“The entire cultivation process for a cultivator is one of constantly giving up human attachments.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

Wasn’t fear also a form of interference? The mission of Dafa practitioners is to cultivate ourselves well, so we can awaken sentient beings most effectively. 

These people are also ordinary people. Before Dafa, everyone is the same and equal, there is no superiority or inferiority. Anyone can be reached by practitioners. When I became clear on the Fa principles, I felt my heart lighten up and my fear was eliminated. With practitioners’ help, I learned how to use a computer and all the necessary tools for truth-clarification on the telephone platform. Then, I began to participate in the telephone rescue project. 

At the beginning, I was a bit nervous. As soon as the call went through, I could only recall a few sentences of the truth-clarification content. My mind went blank and I became so anxious that I began to sweat. 

Given that situation, I decided to talk with my husband about how to make a breakthrough. He encouraged me by saying, “Take it easy. You can try to combine talking to people live with playing the recordings. See how that works.” Based on his suggestions, I improved gradually. 

With the progress of making calls, I realized that people were more inclined to listen to me talking in person than just listening to recordings. However, I wasn't very eloquent. Seeing that I was so anxious, Master gave me wisdom. I reorganized several truth-clarification scripts, and made recordings of them, Then, I used that, along with talking to people in person, and people listened to me for about 10 minutes. 

I haven’t been making truth-clarification calls for very long. Compared to other practitioners who can articulate the issues very well, I could clearly see the gap between us. I am determined to work hard on elevating myself, to get away from using recordings and only talk to people in person, so as to improve my effectiveness.

During the process of making calls to China, there have always been xinxing tests. I often ran into people who hung up, swore at me, or asked for money. One time, I called a police officer, and as soon as the call went through, he began to swear at me very badly. I was dumbfounded and didn’t know what to do. I felt unsettled and uncomfortable. After I hung up the phone, I still couldn’t calm down for quite a while. 

When my husband saw that, he asked me, “What’s the matter?” I told him what happened. He said, “Why don’t you look inward to find the problem?” I then thought to myself: Master had taught us to look inward when we run into a conflict; this is the key. I asked myself: It was not pleasant to hear the other party cursing, but why did this happen? Why would I come across such a vulgar barrage of curses from a police officer? It must have targeted my attachments. It couldn’t happen without a reason. 

After I looked inwards, I realized it actually came down to my attachments of not wanting to be criticized, getting my dignity hurt, pride and arrogance. Growing up, I had developed a stubborn personality. I never wanted to back down, had an inflated sense of self-esteem and never wanted to be criticized. Since I began cultivating, I have changed a lot for the better. Yet, when I interacted with other practitioners, they didn’t talk about my attachments. Thus, I thought I’d eliminated these attachments. But I realized that I hadn’t gotten rid of them from the root. Didn’t this experience help me completely eliminate these attachments? 

Master said, 

“When in your truth clarification you run across ordinary people who have listened to and believed the lies and propaganda spread early on by the wicked CCP via its media, they might have misperceptions about Dafa disciples, be harsh toward you, or not willing to listen to you. At those times, if your emotions are stirred up by them, and you feel wronged, get upset, and maybe even aren’t all that rational, then you won’t be able to clarify the truth nor save those people.” (“Fa Teaching Given in Manhattan,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. X)

“How could a few words from an ordinary, bad person count for anything? "However evil you are, you can't change me. I simply must accomplish my historic mission, and I must do what a Dafa disciple should do.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Washington DC Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IV)

Master’s teachings filled my heart with righteous energy. Gradually, my attachments were eliminated. From then on, whenever I ran into people who talked nastily, or were sarcastic, admonishing and verbally abusive, my heart remained unmoved. I just clarified the facts to them patiently, compassionately, and without haste. In addition, I resolved their misunderstandings. In this way, my truth-clarification has achieved better and better results. 

Master said, 

“..having made it through to the final phase, we should do even better at what we are supposed to do, for things are all the more critical toward the end. You made it through the earlier days when circumstances were so difficult and things were so evil, so there is no reason not to do still better now, in the final phase.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference,” Team Yellow Translation)
