(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province] Cheng Hong Sentenced Again to Seven Years in Prison

Chen Hong (gender unknown), 48, of Shaoxing City was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Yuecheng District Court on July 25, 2012. Chen fled while under house arrest. Chen was an exile for many years.

On March 4, 2021, Chen was arrested at Chen’s mother’s home in Huaihua City, Hunan Province, by 12 officers from Huaihua City and Shaoxing City, and has been held in a detention center in Shaoxing City. The family learned that Chen had again been sentenced to seven years in prison.

2. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Xiancheng Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhou Xiancheng was arrested at his home in Macheng City by officers from the Pantang Police Station, Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, at around 7:00 p.m. on March 28, 2021. His home was ransacked. He is being held in the Liuji Brainwashing Center in Xinzhou District.

3.[Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Intermediate Court Affirms Sentences Against Mr. Xu Zhangqing’s Family

Mr. Xu Zhangqing, his wife, and their son were sentenced to more than seven years in prison by the Anlu City Court. They appealed to the Xiaogan Intermediate Court last year. The intermediate court affirmed the sentences. The family will continue appealing.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Wanxin Faces Trial

Ms. Yang Wanxin was arrested in August 2020, and her home was ransacked. She ws taken to the Shijingshan Detention Center. Her case was submitted to the Shijingshan District Court.

5. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Zenggang Detained

Mr. Yu Zenggang of Zhucheng City was arrested on March 1, 2021. He was held in the Anqiu City Detention Center for 37 days before being transferred to the Zhucheng City Detention Center by the Zhucheng City Police. He was released on April 8.

6. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Yuqi Harassed

Ms. Liu Yuqi was harassed at home by Yang Jianbo and two others from Mengyang Town at noon on April 9, 2021. They illegally photographed the interior of her home.

7. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Chunlian Detained

Ms. Chen Chunlian, in her 50s, of Xiaochi Town, Huangmei County, was arrested by officers from the Xiaochi Town Police Department around the time of the Qing Ming Festival. She is being held in the Huangmei County Detention Center.

8. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Zhang Qiuyu was harassed at home by officers from the Jiangguantun Police Station on April 7, 2021. They noticed she had symptoms of stroke and hemiplegia, and called the court. They said they would take her away if she did not have hemiplegia, and asked for her medical records.

Meng (first name and gender unknown), Fu (first name and gender unknown), and Wang (first name and gender unknown) were harassed by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station on the afternoon of April 8, 2021.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Meili Repeatedly Harassed

Ms. Liu Meili has been harassed at home four times since mid-March 2021. The community director, Party secretary, security personnel, and segment members demanded she sign a guarantee that she would not post or hand out Falun Gong materials.

They requested that her husband sign, but he refused.

10. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xueying and Ms. Lu Meiqin Harassed

Ms. Zhang Xueying of Hongshan Town was harassed by officers from the Hongshan Town Police Station in early April 2021. Ms. Lu Meiqin of Zhaili Town was harassed at home by officers from the Zhaili Town Police Station. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Lu were arrested by officers from the Hongshan Town Police Station in May 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

11. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

Ms. Cui Guifen, Ms. Wang Muyi, and Ms. Wang Xia will have a court hearing on April 14, 2021. They were among the Dongying practitioners who were arrested on November 17, 2020. Ms. Cui and Ms. Wang Muyi have been held at the Dongying City Detention Center. Ms. Wang Xia was released on bail.

Ms. Cui’s family asked about the case several times since mid-March 2021. The Dongying District Procuratorate said it was submitted to the court. The family contacted the district court which denied having the case. Around April 8 the family finally learned that the procuratorate submitted the case to the court on April 1, and the court scheduled a hearing on April 14. The family immediately hired a lawyer. The lawyer had only two days to apply and review the case before the hearing.

12. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Four Members of a Family Arrested

Mr. Zeng Xingyang was arrested at his store by officers from the Tianhe District Police Department on the morning of April 9, 2021. The officers ransacked his home in the afternoon and arrested his wife, Ms. Deng Fang, and his sister, Ms. Zeng Yueling there.

His other sister, Ms. Zeng Yuefang, was arrested in Xingning City on April 7, 2021.

13. [Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Li Zhiqiang Harassed

Mr. Li Zhiqiang was harassed at home around April 8, 2021. The harassers tried to force him to sign a three statements document renouncing Falun Gong. His family members and relatives were stressed.

14. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Qiaotou Township Police Station went and photographed inside the homes of Mr. Li Jianrong and Ms. Dong Shuhua on the afternoon of April 5, 2021. They also went to Ms. Liu Chunxiang’s home, but they could not photograph it because she was not at home.
