(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 41 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] 14 Practitioners Sentenced to Seven Years or More in Prison 

Mr. Hou Hongqing in his 50s and Mr. Tan Qiucheng were arrested at their rented house by police officers from Siping City and Lishu City on August 15, 2019. Both practitioners were sentenced to seven years in prison on February 27, 2021.

Twelve more practitioners were also sentenced to prison at the same time. Mr. Meng Xiangqi was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison; Mr. Meng Fanjun (Meng Xiangqi’s father), to seven years; Ms. Fu Guihua (Meng Xiangqi’s mother-in-law), to seven and a half years; Ms. Yu Jianli (Fu Guihua’s eldest daughter), to seven years; Mr. Wang Dongji (Yu Jianli’s husband), to seven years; Mr. Wang Kemin (Wang Dongji’s father), to seven years; Ms. Wang Fengzhi (Wang Dongji’s mother), to seven years; Ms. Cui Guixian, to seven years; Ms. Liu Dongying (Cui Guixian’s in-law), to seven years; Mr. Han Jianping, to seven years; Ms. Jiang Tao, to nine years; and Ms. Zhang Shaoping, to seven years. 

They are all detained in the Siping Detention Center.

2. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Xinguo Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Mr. Wang Xinguo, 67, from Songbu Town, was sentenced to two years in prison on November 28, 2020. 

3. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Peixiu and Ms. Gou Tianjun Tried in Court

Ms. Wang Peixiu, 80, and Ms. Gou Tianjun, 75, live in Miaoer Village, Jiachuan Town, Wangcang County. They received the trial notice on January 14, 2021, and were tried in court at 3 p.m., February 8, 2021. Both practitioners were sentenced to two-month imprisonment with three-month probation and were fined 1000 yuan. 

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Yuzhen Harassed

Ms. Hu Yuzhen was harassed at home on March 5, 2021, by seven people including Zhou from the Qingshan District Comprehensive Management Office. Ms. Hu was pressured to sign a guarantee statement promising to renounce Falun Gong. She refused to comply. 

5. [Linquan County, Anhui Province] Ms. Guo Aifen Harassed

Ms. Guo Aifen lives in Guogou Village, Yangqiao Town. She was harassed at home by nearly 20 people on March 12, 2021, including the town deputy mayor Tian Lin, the village officials, and officers from the Yangqiao Police Station. They pushed and shoved her around and pressured her to sign the three statements. After Ms. Guo refused to cooperate, they took her to the village office. They claimed to achieve their target in the Zero-out campaign by using any means and threatened to put her in jail if she refused to sign the statements. 

6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Huimin’s Case Filed to the Procuratorate

Ms. Wang Huimin from Dawangzhuang Village of Shenze County has been arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The Shijiazhuang Detention Center refused to admit her due to her poor health. 

Ms. Wang received a summons from the Shenze County District Police Department on February 28, 2021. She went there under pressure from her son. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement and was told that her case had been sent to the procuratorate. 

7. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Feng Shangwei Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Feng Shangwei (gender unknown) was sentenced to four years in prison and is now detained in the Shandong Province Prison. 

8. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Junhua and Ms. Chen Mingzhen Arrested

Ms. Liu Junhua, 78, was arrested at her home in the Shunqing District on March 11, 2021. Seven people from the Shunqing District Police Department, Jiangjun Road Police Station, and the security section of the Southwest Petroleum University came and ransacked her home. They took away Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, her computer, and more than 1000 yuan imprinted with truth-clarifying messages. Ms. Liu was taken to the Xihe Road Police Station for interrogation. She was released on bail pending trial later that day. 

Ms. Chen Mingzhen, 71, was arrested at home by four officers from the Wufeng Police Station and the Shunqing District Police Department on the same day. Her home was ransacked and her personal property including Dafa books and her media player were taken away. She was taken to the Xihe Road Police Station for interrogation. She was released that evening. 

9. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Mr. Zhao Guang’s Case Filed to the Procuratorate

Mr. Zhao Guang in his 50s was followed and arrested by plainclothes officers after he distributed truth-clarifying materials in mid-November 2020. He was detained in the Anqing Detention Center. His case is now in the procuratorate and will be transferred to the court soon.

10. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

Ms. Li Suxian, Ms. Xu Yanping and Ms. Zuo Ying were reported to police for posting truth-clarifying stickers and were arrested by officers from the Changsheng Police Station in Dongfeng District on the afternoon of July 1, 2020. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Xu Yanping and Ms. Zuo Ying were taken to the Jiamusi Detention Center and have been detained there since then. Ms. Li Suxian was denied admission due to symptoms of high blood pressure. She was released on bail pending trial. 

Three practitioners were scheduled to be tried in the Xiangyang District Court at 10 a.m., March 18, 2021. 

11. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ding Yufen Arrested

Ms. Ding Yufen in her 50s lives in Yangzhai Village, Shuangyang Town, Zichuan District. She was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Xiazhuang Police Station in Zhangdian District for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked and her Dafa books were taken away. She was released 24 hours later. 

12. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Jingjian Arrested

Ms. Wu Jingjian was arrested at home on March 12, 2021.

13. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Fengmei Arrested

Ms. Zhao Fengmei was arrested at home by officers from the Anqiu Police Department, the 610 Office and the Chengli Police Station on January 25, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her personal property including a printer, a computer, Dafa books, and printing papers was taken away. Ms. Zhao was released on bail after being detained for several days. Her family was forced to deposit 10,000 yuan to bail her out. She is still under surveillance after returning home. 

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Han Jianping’s Family Harassed 

Mr. Han Jianping’s family members have been harassed repeatedly since last year. Staff members from the Zhengyang Sub-district Office kept calling his family members and were pressured to sign the guarantee statement. Officers from the Zhengyang Police Station also kept calling and tried to force the family to move their household registrations to another place. The officers even came to his family member’s workplace and the child’s school to threaten them. Because of this constant harassment Mr. Han's family lives in anxiety and cannot relax. 

Mr. Han Jiangping was recently sentenced to seven years in prison by the Lishu County Court. 

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Guo Xianmin Harassed

Ms. Guo Xianmin had been harassed multiple times by government officials in Lequn Township of Shuangcheng District and local police officers in December 2020. She was pressured to sign the three statements. They also took away two copies of Zhuan Falun from her home. 

Ms. Guo was harassed at home again on March 11, 2021. Four people including Zhao , head of the Lequn Township Police Station, Wu Zhong, village Party secretary, and Huang Sancheng, village security official, came to her home. They tried to videotape her and pressured her to scold the founder of Falun Gong in front of the camera. They searched her home and found several copies of Minghui Weekly. They accused her daughter-in-law of covering up for her and threatened to arrest her. They also threatened her husband. 

16. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Hongliang Harassed

Mr. Wang Hongliang was harassed at home in Xinzhuang Village, Weizhuang Town, Xin County on March 10, 2021. Several officers from Guan County and Xin County came and ransacked his home as well as his son’s home. They took away some Dafa books and some Chinese New Year posters. 

Mr. Wang Hongliang and Mr. Zhang Xiansheng from Sangqiao Village, Sang’a Town of Guan County were arrested by officers from the Sang’a Town Police Station for distributing truth-clarifying booklets on March 21, 2017. An electric tricycle was seized and the truth-clarifying materials including 1200 gourds with truth-clarifying words and more than 4000 yuan were taken. Their homes were ransacked. Their Dafa books, the photo of Falun Gong's founder, and truth-clarifying stickers were taken away. Both practitioners were released on March 22, 2017. 

17. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Hui and Ms. Liang Xia Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Hui and Ms. Liang Xia from Minhang District were arrested by officers from the Gumei Police Station in Minhang District in March 2020. They were later released on bail pending trial. 

Both practitioners were arrested on March 11, 2021, and were placed under 15-day administration detention. 

18. [Lushun City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Wang Arrested

Practitioner Wang (gender and first name are unknown) was arrested by officers from the Desheng Street Police Station on March 9, 2021. Wang’s home was ransacked, and personal property including a computer, a printer, and some cash was taken away.

19. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Shufen Harassed

Ms. Xu Shefen was harassed at home in Donghetan Village on the afternoon of March 5, 2021. Tan Yongzhan, a deputy at the Tiegan Police Station and other officers came to her home. They tried to photograph her and attempted to remove the couplet on the wall. Ms. Xu stopped them.

20. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners from Tanfang Town including Ms. Xie Xiuling, Ms. Wang Guifeng, Ms. Wang Fengyun, and Ms. An Peiyun, were arrested for talking about Falun Gong in a market. They were taken to the Qiaoguan Town Police Station where they were body searched and interrogated. Ms. Wang Fengyun and Ms. An Peiyun were released that evening. Ms. Xie Xiuling and Ms. Wang Guifeng were taken to the Changyi Detention Center.
