(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Huanzhen Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhao Huanzhen was tried by the Lianshan District Court in the Suizhong County Detention Center on November 18, 2021. His family received a notice on November 29 that Mr. Zhao was sentenced to one year and two months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Cui Appeals Her Sentence

In early November 2021, the Ganjingzi District Court notified Ms. Zhang Cui that she was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. Ms. Zhang has appealed to the Dalian Intermediate Court.

3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Jianzhong’s Original Verdict Upheld

Mr. Sun Jianzhong from Fengrun District was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers from the Public Security Management Division of the Fengrun District Department on July 22, 2020.

Mr. Sun was tried by the Zunhua City Court on July 19, 2021, and was sentenced to two years and six months in prison on August 23. Mr. Sun appealed to the Tangshan City Intermediate Court, but the court upheld the original verdict.

4. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Xiuzhen Faces Trial

Ms. Sun Xiuzhen, 78, from Bayuquan District, was summoned to the Bayuquan District Court on November 29, 2021. She was told that she would be tried at the Yingkou City Court at 9 a.m. on December 14.

Ms. Sun was arrested by plainclothes officers when she talked to people about Falun Gong and distributed information about the spiritual practice at the Shuangtai Town farmers' market on July 6, 2020. She was detained for seven days and her son paid her bail.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jing Fengmei Officially Arrested

Ms. Jing Fengmei was arrested by officers from the Anqing Road Police Station, Changchun Auto Development Zone, on the afternoon of October 28, 2021. She was transferred from the Weizigou Detention Center to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center on November 13.

It was reported recently that Ms. Jing was officially placed under arrest on November 27.

6. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Song, Ms. Lu Yawen, Ms. Liu, and Ms. Jiao were arrested by officers from the Gucheng Police Station while talking to people about Falun Gong at a bus station on the morning of November 29, 2021. Further information is pending.

7. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Kairong Harassed

Officer Xiao from the Lianshan Town Police Station and Ms. Wang Kairong’s son went to Ms. Wang’s home on the evening of November 29, 2021. They pressured her to give up practicing Falun Gong. When they left officer Xiao took three Falun Gong’s books and a photo of the founder of Falun Gong on his way out.

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Duan Guixiu Arrested

Ms. Duan Guixiu from Huangdao District was arrested downstairs at her apartment building by plainclothes officers on the morning of November 29, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books. Ms. Duan’s daughter was also arrested, but it was not clear on what grounds.

9. [Hengshan County, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Meiying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Meiying was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Haizhu District Court on November 18, 2021.

10. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xuxia and Her Sister Arrested

Ms. Li Xuxia and her younger sister were arrested in early November 2021. Their specific situations are unknown.

11. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Mao Chunxia Arrested

Ms. Mao Chunxia was arrested by officers from the Nanguan Police Station on November 23, 2021. She is currently being held in a detention center, the location of which is not known.

12. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Case Against Ms. Li Xuesong Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Li Xuesong, 73, from the Weiyang District, was reported to the police on a bus on August 23, 2021. She was arrested and taken to the Weiyang District Domestic Security Division. The case against her was turned over to the Weiyang District Procuratorate. Her case files have now been handed over to the No. 1 Procuratorate of the Lianhu District Procuratorate.

13. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Sufen Harassed

Officers from the Matou Town Police Station went to Ms. Guo Sufen’s home in Taxiguo Village on November 21, 2021. They tried to forcibly take a video of her, which she refused.

14. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Mou Zhiying Arrested

Ms. Mou Zhiying was arrested and taken to the Pengzhou Brainwashing Center by over 20 people including Pengzhou City police assistants, brainwashing center personnel, and Li’an Residential Community Management Office staff on the morning of November 23, 2021.

They forcibly grabbed Ms. Mou’s hand to make her fingerprint paperwork. They also took her husband to the brainwashing center. Both Ms. Mou and her husband were released half an hour later.

15. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Li Guoxiang Arrested

Mr. Li Guoxiang from Kharchin Banner was reported to the police and was arrested by officers from the Niujiayingzi Police Station around November 20, 2021. The officers confiscated an audio player. Mr. Li was released that day.

16. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Case Against Ms. Yang Jing Brought to Court

Ms. Yang Jing was arrested at home by over 10 officers from the Hongpailou Police Station, Wuhou District, on March 13, 2021. She was officially placed under arrest by the Wuhou District Procuratorate on April 19.

It was reported that her case was brought to the Wuhou District Court.

17. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Wenbo Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Li Wenbo was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan.

18. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Lei Jiangtao Transferred to Wuxi Prison

Mr. Lei Jiangtao was transferred to the Wuxi Prison in late November 2021.

19. [Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Yan Ziting Suspended from School

Ms. Yan Ziting, 25, from Wuchuan County, received an administrative penalty and was suspended from attending school.

In early June, officers from the Wuchuan County Domestic Security Division harassed Ms. Yan. They pressured her to register with the police department for questioning with notes taken. They also went to her home to register her national ID card information and other personal information.

In early August, her family and the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee staff tricked Ms. Yan into going to a brainwashing center. Her computer and cell phone were confiscated. She was held in the brainwashing center for nearly three months. At the beginning of November, she was transferred to the Hohhot Detention Center, where she was held for about eight days.

Ms. Yan was tricked into getting into a car by Kang Quanlin, director of the Wuchuan County Police Department, and others on November 28. She was taken to two psychiatric hospitals in Beijing for “medical treatment” by Deng Qingbin, a member of the Hohhot City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, officers from the Wuchuan County Domestic Security Division, Zhao Junli, a staff member of the Erfenzi Township government office, and others. On November 30, Ms. Yan safely returned to Hohhot City from Beijing.

20. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Chen Jianping and his wife Ms. Chen Jingwen were arrested and their home was ransacked in mid-November 2021. Ms. Chen was detained for five days.

In October, the secretary of the Xian’an District Political and Legal Affairs Committee led people to Ms. Hao Yufang’s home. They ransacked her home, and also suspended her pension. In order to avoid further persecution Ms. Hao was forced to leave home and become displaced.

Ms. Zheng Rongzhen was arrested and taken to the detention center while distributing Falun Gong materials in October. Her husband paid for her bail and brought her home.
