(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 30 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 124 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
More than 20 practitioners were arrested in Changsha City on October 27 and 28, 2020, based on long-term internet and telecommunication surveillance. Some of them are Mr. Li Zhigang, Mr. Chen Yang, Ms. Cao Zhimin, Ms. Zhang Lingge, Ms. Zhang Furong, Ms. Liu Yanping, Mr. Yu Hui, Ms. Xia Jingze, and Mr. Meng Kai.
Some of the practitioners' families hired defense lawyers. When the lawyers went to meet their clients in the detention center, they were told that they were taken out by the case-handling people and their whereabouts were unknown.
Ms. Chen Suyuan, 73, was arrested on April 15, 2020, when she clarified the truth to people. She was tried in court on August 10, 2020, and was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. She has appealed to the Anshan Intermediate Court.
Ms. Wei Fengling, 77, will be tried in the Yongchang County Court on December 22, 2020. Her case was handled by the Guangzhou Road Police Station, the Jinchang City Domestic Security Department and the Yongchang County Procuratorate.
Ms. Lin Yan is a teacher in the No. 1 Middle School of Wucheng County. She was recorded by surveillance cameras when she posted truth-clarifying stickers. She was arrested at home on March 23, 2020. Her home was ransacked and many personal belongings were taken away. She was taken to the Dezhou City Detention Center and has been detained there for more than eight months.
Mr. Jia Guanglin lives in Jianchangying Village, Yuanbaoshan Town, Chifeng City. He was taken to the Yuanbaoshan Town Brainwashing Center on the afternoon of December 16, 2020.
Seven practitioners were arrested on the evening of April 9, 2020, by officers from the Chengqu Police Department and the Xinlian Police Station, led by Zeng Baolong from the domestic security division. The practitioners are Mr. Huang Shengwei, Mr. Zhuang Xiachang, Mr. Chen Xianzhen, Mr. Liang Shengqiang, Ms. Yu Shaoliang, Ms. Zeng Shaolan, and Mr. Wu Yiguo. Ms. Ye Xiaojie was arrested at home on the evening of June 9, 2020.
The practitioners’ cases have been filed to the Cheng District Procuratorate. Four of their cases including Mr. Huang, Mr. Zhuang, Mr. Chen, and Ms. Ye, have also been filed to the Cheng District Court. They are currently detained in the Shanwei City Detention Center.
7. [Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province] Multiple Practitioners PersecutedMr. Zhao Yujie (around 47 years old) and Mr. Chen Yongsen (65 years old) are detained in the Linxia City Detention Center. Mr. Li Jiankui, Mr. Song Youfu, and Mr. Jia Chunzhen (around 74 years old) are detained in the Linxia County Detention Center.
The following practitioners from Linxia prefecture have been sentenced, subjected to forced labor or taken to brainwashing centers.
Those who have been sentenced to prison are: Jin Yuantao (sentenced twice with 14 total years in prison); Mr. Li Chunhu (10 years); Li Jiankui (twice with a total of 11 years); Mr. Dang Cunping (three and a half years); Mr. Feng Tingjun (three years); Mr. Jiao Yonglin (twice with a total of 9 years); Ms. Jiao Yongren (4 years); Li Tianzeng (4 years); Mr. Wang Wenke (3 years); Song Youfu (4 years); Jia Chunzhen (5 years); Ms. He Xuehua (5 years in Lanzhou Women’s Prison, now deceased); Ms. Wang Jinfen (4 years); Mr. Chen Keyuan and his wife (2 years postponement and 1 year respectively; Mr. Chen Keyuan now deceased); Mr. Shi Guangping (2-year probation); Ms. He Shufang (probation of 2 and a half years); Ms. Ga Hong (3-year probation).
Those who have been subjected to force labor are: Mr. Feng Tingcai, Mr. Feng Tingjun, Mr. Feng Yongyan, Zhang Guifu, Lou Zhongming, Mr. Kong Lingpu, Li Jiankui, Duan Chengyuan, Mr. Wang Wenliang, Zhang Fuchang, Mr. Li Ziqiang (deceased), Ms. Deng Huali, Ms. Jiao Tianyun, Ms. Li Yonglan, Ms. Bao Hailian, Ms. Tao Fang, Ms. Song Shuzhen, Ms. Shan Chenglan, Mr. Shi Guangping’s wife.
Ms. Tao Hua and Ms. An Binlan have been taken to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center in Lanzhou City.
The following practitioners have been detained in Linxia Prison: Mr. Yang Xuegui, Mr. Wang Yuping, Li Jiankui, Wang Wenke, and Jiao Yonglin.
Ms. Yi Qiongying and Ms. Peng Tianzhi were arrested at the Chuanzhong Market around 8 a.m., on October 15, 2020, by two plainclothes policemen. They were taken to the Jiahe Police Station for interrogation and were later taken to the Yongxing Detention House.
Ms. Yi Qiongying’s home was ransacked. Her Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials were taken away. When Ms. Li Kaizhen went to Ms. Yi’s home to inform her husband about Ms. Yi’s arrest, she was also arrested. Ms. Li was released that afternoon.
On the same day, five more practitioners were arrested including Ms. Li Qiongyu and her husband Mr. Yan Changmu, Mr. Yang Xinghong, Liu Tianshu (gender unknown) and Ms. Liu Peipei. Except for Ms. Liu in her 30s, the other practitioners are in their 60s or 70s.
All practitioners were detained in the Yongxing Detention Center for 14 days before they were released.
Mr. Gao Hongwei from Xiangfang District was arrested on December 3, 2020, by officers from the Junmin Street Police Station in the Xiangfang District when he distributed truth-clarifying materials. He was detained in the No.3 Detention Center. On the morning of December 18, 2020, two plainclothes officers from the Junmin Street Police Station took him away.
Mr. Cai Hengjun was arrested at home on October 2, 2020, by officers from the Longtian Police Station. He is now under criminal detention and is detained in the Longgang Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Yinqiu in her 70s was arrested on the morning of June 20, 2020, by officers from the Chengguan Police Station. Her home was ransacked and her Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials were taken away. The police also ransacked the homes of her two sons. Ms. Wang was fined 1000 yuan but was let go because of her high blood pressure.
Ms. Wang was harassed twice at home by officers from the Chengguan Police Station within a few days after her release. One time was to sign some documents and the other time was to sign the three statements and have her photo taken.
Ms. Wang was harassed again at the end of November 2020. The police wanted to take her to the detention house. Under intense pressure, she developed symptoms of high blood pressure and had to stay in the hospital. The police still did not give up and even made harassing phone calls to her daughter-in-law.
Officers from the Xifuluo Police Station came to Ms. Yu Suying’s home with the excuse of checking the natural gas boiler around 3 p.m. on December 14, 2020. At that time, Ms. Yu Suying, Ms. Zhao Fengru and another practitioner were reading the Falun Dafa teachings. The police searched the home and took away Dafa books, Minghui Weekly, amulets, etc. Regardless of the fact that Ms. Yu’s husband was unable to take care of himself because of a stroke (cerebral thrombosis), the police arrested Ms. Yu and Ms. Zhao and took them to the Xifuluo Police Station. After Ms. Yu’s son paid 9000 yuan, the two of them were released around 9 p.m. that evening.
Ms. Yu was ordered to come to the Anguo City Domestic Security Division on the morning of December 16, 2020. She was ordered to sign some documents.
Ms. Li Shuying lives in Xijiaoping, Longxi County. She was arrested on December 17, 2020, by officers from the Xijiao Police Station. Her home was ransacked. Her current situation is unknown because she lived alone.
Seven or eight officers from the Xiguan Police Station forcefully broke into Ms. Xu Xiuying’s home around 8 p.m. on December 17, 2020. They searched the house but found nothing. They still arrested Ms. Xu claiming to have her take the nucleic acid test and place her under 30-day isolation.
Several officers from the Xiguan Police Station knocked on the door of Ms. Shan Shuli’s home around 7 p.m., December 17, 2020.
Four officers from the Xiguan Police Station broke into Ms. Shan Hongmei’s home around 7 p.m. on December 17, 2020. They took away three Dafa books and a photo of Falun Dafa's founder. They stopped by her home three times that evening and forced her husband to sign the guarantee statement.
Officers from the Xiguan Police Station came to Ms. Wang Kexiu’s home on the morning of December 18, 2020. Even though they did not find anything related to Falun Gong they arrested Ms. Wang. They claimed to have her take the nucleic acid test and placed her in 30-day isolation. This is another form of detention. During the arrest on July 22, Ms. Wang was blackmailed 50,500 yuan. Each of her five daughters paid 10,000 yuan for her.
Several Longmenli Community staff members went to the home of Mr. Fan Yongcheng and his wife Ms. Lei Zhanxiang. They ordered the old couple to sign the three statements, which they refused.
Ms. Yang Xiufang was also harassed by these people. She didn’t cooperate with them.
Mr. Jin Weifeng from Wuchang District was arrested at home just after he returned from the morning market around 10 a.m., on December 16, 2020. Officers from the Dongting Police Station arrested his wife (non-practitioner) as well. His home was ransacked. His personal belongings including Dafa books and his computer were taken away.
Mr. Jin’s wife was released the next day. Mr. Jin was taken to the Qingling Detention Center in the Wuchang District.
Mr. He Quanxin was harassed at home five or six times between November 6, 2020, to December 11, 2020, by police officer Wu Jingjiang and others from the Yangmiao Town Police Station. They took away his Zhuan Falun and his phone book. They threatened to stop their pensions if the couple did not cooperate.
Mr. Xu Jianbo received a harassment call on the afternoon of December 7, 2020, from Che Lina in Yong’an Community who told him or his wife Ms. Meng Xianfang to sign the three statements in the community office. Mr. Xu did not cooperate.
Ms. Tian Tiemei lives in Dongzhangying Village, Chengguan Town, Wuqing District. She was harassed at home by the village director Hu Zhenxin on December 16, 2020. Hu ordered her to sign the three statements and he photographed her.
Ms. Shui Li, 77, was arrested outside of the building where she lives around 7 a.m. on July 22, 2020, by several policemen from the Railway Police Department. Her home was ransacked. Her personal belongings were taken away including a desktop computer, a laptop, Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, etc. She was released on bail around 11 p.m. that day. Her son bailed her out with 5000 yuan.
Ms. Shui’s husband had been taking oxygen after a heart attack when she was arrested. He was frightened and could not sleep well. He died on November 12, 2020.
Ms. Dai Maixiang was arrested at home on the morning of December 1, 2020. She was hand cuffed and taken away. Her home was ransacked. Her Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, etc. were taken away. She was detained for seven days.
Ms. Kuan Fengmei and Ms. Yuan Meiyun were harassed at home on the morning of December 13, 2020, by community staff members, town officials, and Nanyue District officials. Ms. Yuan received multiple harassment calls and was called to the community office.
Ms. Zhang Xiangrong was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison on December 16, 2020
Three practitioners including Ms. Zhang Shuping from Dongchangfu District had their homes raided on the evening of November 26, 2020. About 20,000 yuan in paper currency with truth-clarifying words were taken away. A few days before the raid, Ms. Zhang found a locator device installed on her electric bike that had been tracking her position.
Two uniformed officers and several others in plainclothes from the Yong’an Police Station came to Ms. Luo Taoying’s home and Mr. Zhang Jian’s home on the afternoon of December 18, 2020. They questioned them and asked whether they still practiced Falun Gong. They threatened to come back often if they did.
Mr. Ma Tieping was arrested at home on December 16, 2020, by officers from the Daonan Police Station in the Shanhaiguan District and a police officer from Nanjing City. Mr. Ma's home was ransacked. His cell phone and computer were taken away. Mr. Ma was escorted back to Nanjing City and was placed in criminal detention.
Three local police officers came to harass Mr. Feng Tianxi at his shop on the morning of December 16, 2020. When he was not there they phoned him. They ordered Mr. Feng to meet them, which he refused.
The policemen then went to Mr. Fu Erdong’s home in Beibailou Village. Mr. Fu was not at home. His son refused to call his father back.
Then they went to Mr. Li Mihai’s home in Beibailou Village. They questioned Mr. Li whether he still practiced Falun Gong and they photographed his entire home.
They came to Zhongbailou Village to harass Mr. Gao Dongdong and Liu Haizeng. Neither of them were home.
The next day on December 17, 2020, they returned to harass Mr. Feng Tianxi and Mr. Gao Dongdong again. Neither of them were at home.
Ms. Wang Yuefang lives in Dabohezhai Village, Beidaihe District. She was harassed at home in mid-July 2020 by the village director Zhang Hongping and a few local policemen. They forced Ms. Wang to sign the guarantee statement.
Mr. Li Hengchuan was recently harassed multiple times at his workplace. Director Lu from the Xishan Street Office in Beidaihe District came to his workplace and his wife’s workplace to order them to sign the three statements.
Ms. Liu Yuqiu was harassed at home around 3 p.m. on December 11, 2020, by local community members, and officers from the Xingantai Police Station and the Xing’an District Police Department. They first cut off the power to Ms. Liu’s apartment. When her husband, Xu You came out to check, he was pushed to the ground. When Ms. Liu stepped out, she was also pushed to the ground and then handcuffed.
Their home was ransacked and their personal belongings were taken away including their entire set of Dafa books, three CDs, ID cards, all the couple's bank cards, and 2,200 one-yuan bills including a small portion of them with truth-clarifying words. The police ransacked the entire house.
The couple was taken to the Xing’an District Police Department. Ms. Liu’s husband is not a practitioner and was released around 9 p.m. that night. Ms. Liu was taken to the No. 2 Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Mingying (74 years old), Ms. Liu’s husband, Ms. Wan Zhengping (68 years old) and Ms Tang Daobi were arrested on February 29, 2020, by officers from the Xinning Town Police Station and the Kaijiang County Police Department. Their homes were ransacked. Many personal belongings were taken away, including their Dafa books, cell phones, laptops, and truth-clarifying materials. The police even took away the computer belonging to Ms. Liu’s son and the tablet belonging to her daughter. Because of the pandemic, the practitioners were placed under house arrest.
Ms. Liu was interrogated on December 3, 2020, by Li Xiang, deputy of Kaijiang County Domestic Security Division. The interrogation went on from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. She was released on bail and taken home by her children. Li Xiang also interrogated Ms. Wan and Ms. Tang.
On December 16, 2020, Li Xiang informed Ms. Liu, Ms. Wang and Ms. Tang that their cases were filed to the Kaijiang County Procuratorate.
Mr. Song Jin received multiple harassment calls around the end of September 2020 and the beginning of October 2020 from Zhang Wei, an officer from the Helanshanxi Road Police Station, Xixia District. Zhang demanded that Mr. Song sign the three statements. Mr. Song was also harassed at home by the police and local community members.
Mr. Song Jin received a harassment call on November 17, 2020, when he was drawing a mural at the Haiyuan County Museum in Zhongwei City. Yang, the head of Helanshanxi Road Police Station, threatened him and said he would suspend his wife's pension if they refused to sign the three statements.
Mr. Song came to the police station around 2 p.m. on December 1, 2020. He was held there and was not allowed to leave, unless he signed the three statements. He was watched by two or three people at a time. Twelve people divided into five or six groups and took turns watching him from 2 p.m. on December 1 to about 2 p.m. on December 2. During this illegal custody period, he was not allowed to sleep, eat or drink.
His wife Chen Yulan phoned around 4 p.m. on December 1 and was told that Mr. Song was not allowed to leave until he signed the statements. Her pension would be suspended if she did not sign them.
Mr. Song was taken to the nearby building for the neighboring street office around 6 p.m. when more people arrived in the hallway of the police station.
Mr. Song kept refusing to sign the three statements. He managed to leave the building the next afternoon.
Ms. Xiang Xiqiong was harassed on November 12, 2020, by village officials. She was threatened and told that both her and her husband's pensions would be stopped if she refused to sign the guarantee statement. She was also told that her family members would be implicated as well.
Officers from the Gongnongcun Police Station filed Ms. Xiang's case to the procuratorate on November 19, 2020. Ms. Xiang refused to sign the related documents in the procuratorate.
Ms. Xiang and her daughter were called to the procuratorate again on December 7, 2020. Ms. Xiang still refused to sign the documents.
