(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 27 cities or counties in 14 provinces, where at least 54 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. He Ping was arrested at home by officers from the Songyuan City Domestic Security Division on September 10, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Qian Gorlos Mongol Autonomous County Court after being held for over a year in a detention center.
Ms. Qiu Yufeng was tried in April 2020. She was taken to a prison recently.
Ms. Li Guifang from the Shijiazhuang High-Tech Zone was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on December 4, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Liangcun Police Station. She was placed under criminal detention and is being held in the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Detention Center.
Her case was turned over to the Gaocheng District Procuratorate.
Community staff member Chen Huazhong called Ms. Liu Xiaoli, Ms. Tan Xiaorong and Ms. Yuan Bixiu on November 21, 2020, saying that he or she would come to their home to take pictures of them.
Chen called Ms. Liu, Ms. Tan, Ms. Yuan, and Ms. Tang Gangying on December 15 and told them to go to the community office and sign statements to give up Falun Gong, but the practitioners refused.
Ms. Xu San and her husband Mr. Mou Chen from Luyuan District were arrested on December 16, 2020.
Ms. Cui Lanqin from Lvgongpu Township has been held in a detention center. She was scheduled to be tried on the afternoon of December 24, 2020.
Ms. Qin Lianyu was taken to the Zhejiang Province Women’s Prison on December 4, 2020.
Eight or nine people from the Gongjing District Police Department, police station, and community broke into 78-year-old Ms. Peng Junying’s home and ransacked the place on December 9, 2020. They confiscated a printer, a cell phone, weekly publications, and printed materials.
Ms. Peng was taken to the police department for interrogation. She was forcibly photographed and fingerprinted. The officers also pressured her to sign paperwork. They called her son and told him to go and sign a “release on bail” document for his mother. She was released at 8:30 p.m. that night.
Two officers went to her home again and pressured her to sign paperwork on December 14.
Ms. Yang Guizhen, 79, from the Nantai area, Xinfu District, was arrested by three SWAT officers while talking to people about Falun Gong at the bus station in front of the Fushun Mining Bureau Hospital on the afternoon of December 18, 2020.
Four officers, including residential police officer Li Xihong from the Mingdemen Police Station, went to Ms. Liu Hongli’s home and demanded that she sign the three statements to renounce Falun Gong on November 20, 2020. She and her family members refused to sign the statements.
Ms. Liu Chirong from Mengyin County was arrested at her sister’s home by the Sishui County police on December 17, 2020. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Ma Xiuqin, a retired employee of Linpan Oil Production Plant, Shengli Oilfield, was sentenced to a three-year-and-three-month prison term and fined 5,000 yuan at the Dezhou City Detention Center in October 2020.
Ms. Ma was arrested by the Linyi County police on March 23, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Dezhou City Detention Center.
Six officers including Shen Rui from the Chengxi Police Station broke into Ms. Xu Juying’s home and ransacked the place on December 9, 2020. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, another Falun Dafa book, a laptop, printed materials, and her wallet. Ms. Xu was taken to the police station overnight.
She was taken to the Taizhou Detention Center on the afternoon of December 10 and has been held there ever since.
Ms. Gao Xiuping, Ms. Dong Huixin, Ms. Wang Mei, and Ms. Zhen Yuying from Laiyuan County were arrested by officers from the Laiyuan Town Police Station while distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of December 1, 2020.
Ms. Wang, 78, was released that afternoon. They other three practitioners were detained for 16 days.
Mr. Zhao Wenfa from Xihe Village, Qiaotou Township, Shenze County, was arrested at home by officers from the Qiaotou Township Police Station on December 11, 2020. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books. He was held in the police station until it was dark before village officials took him home.
Ms. Li Fumin was arrested in a rented home in Chengguan Town by six officers from the Qingyun Town Police Station and the Yanshan County Police Department on the afternoon of December 17, 2020. Her whereabouts are unclear.
Mr. Li Feipeng was arrested by officers from the Beitai Police Station on October 15, 2020. He is being held in the Benxi City Detention Center. His physical condition is worrisome.
Officers from the Fangzi District Domestic Security Division ransacked Ms. Xu Xihong’s home in Butou Village, Fangcheng Sub-district Administration Office, at noon on December 16, 2020.
At that time, Ms. Xu was not at home. Officers broke into her daughter’s home in the Fangzi New Area and harassed her. Ms. Xu’s husband was held in custody the whole afternoon and was not allowed to answer phone calls.
When Ms. Huang Yuemei was heading out on November 28, 2020, she was arrested by the director and other officers from the Longshan Police Station in Dianbai District, who had been monitoring her home. They ransacked her home. She was held in custody for a day and a night.
The officers pressured her to write the “three statements” renouncing Falun Gong. They threatened to sentence her if she did not write them. They also forcibly took her to the hospital for a nucleic acid test and looked into locking her up for an extended period of time.
The officers called her son and daughter, who worked out of town, back to the hometown and threatened them. The day after, the officers went to her home and harassed her again. She had to leave home and became displaced.
Ms. Zhou Xiuhua lives in Wujiashan Sub-district in Dongxihu District. Officers from the Wujiashan Police Station ransacked her home on July 15, 2020. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa books.
On July 16, the police told her family that the indictment against her was turned over to the procuratorate. She was released on bail for one year.
On December 17, a person surnamed Xu from the Procuratorate sent her family a notice from the Procuratorate that she was being prosecuted on December 15, 2020.
Practitioner Lei Yanzeng (gender unknown) from Ankou Village, Taoxu Town, Mengyin County was arrested out of town on December 17, 2020. The police ransacked Lei’s home and confiscated two computers and over ten boxes of desk calendars.
Ms. Xing Yanchun from Xinnong Township, Xinmin City, was arrested at home by officers from the Xinnong Township Police Station on December 13, 2020. She was taken to the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center.
After that, the police went to her father’s home several times to arrest him. Her father was not at home on any of those occasions and was not arrested.
Practitioner Qu Hua (gender unknown) from Jinzhou District was arrested while distributing Falun Gong materials in September 2020. Qu is being held in the Daheishan Detention Center.
Residential police officers led by Xu Guilai, from Dongyantou Village, Mulin Town, Shunyi District, broke into Ms. Sun Xiuying’s home on December 17, 2020. They demanded that Ms. Sun sign statements renouncing Falun Gong. She refused. The officers threatened to take her to the 610 Office or take her to a “transformation” (brainwashing) class if she did not sign.
They also told lies to her son. When they were talking to her son, she left home to avoid further persecution.
Government officials and a community leader of Bohe Town, Dianbai District, went to Ms. Yang Chunyan’s home on November 24, 2020. They took her to the community office and pressured her to sign the three statements.
They threatened that if she did not sign, they would not allow her to continue to operate her shop, and her granddaughter could not go to kindergarten.
Party secretary Bao of Xinchun Sub-district Administration Office, Yan Li, who is in charge of monitoring Internet content in Xinchun Community, and a residential officer from the Xinchun Police Station went to Mr. Xin Wei’s home on October 23, 2020. They demanded that Mr. Xin and his wife Ms. Zhang Shufen write the three statements, but Ms. Zhang refused.
Three people including deputy director Wang Ning of the police station and Party secretary Bao went to Mr. Xin’s home on December 15. They also demanded that the couple sign the three statements, but they refused. Bao said that if the couple did not sign, they would return to their home.
People including officials from the Dongcheng District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, director Chen of the 610 Office, and officer Zheng from the Dongcheng District Police Station harassed Ms. Wu Weiwei on numerous occasions.
Starting from November 2020, they have harassed her on the phone and at home every week, which has upset her family.
They pressured Ms. Wu to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong. They threatened to send her to a “transformation” class if she did not sign and that her family members’ education, military enlistment, job and even marriage prospects would be adversely impacted.
In 2019, an electronic camera was installed at her door to monitor her.
Practitioners Shan Jinlan, Jiang Yurong, Zhang Meiyan, Du Guangming, Yang Tianyun, and Zhang Xiaoning were harassed and threatened recently. Practitioners who refused to sign paperwork were repeatedly harassed.
Ms. Liang Xin, in her 60s, from Changping District, was recorded by a surveillance camera when she was distributing Falun Gong materials in Liangguochang Hutong in Dongcheng District on June 16, 2020.
She was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Shijingshan Police Station on July 14. She was detained by the Dongcheng District Police Department on July 15. She was officially placed under arrest by the Beijing City Police Department on August 14. Her case was turned over to the Dongcheng District Procuratorate on October 12. She is being held in the Dongcheng District Detention Center.
Ms. Fan Xiuyun was arrested by the Liaoyang City police on April 18, 2019. She has been held in the Liaoyang City Detention Center.
It was reported that she was sentenced to three years in prison by the Baita District Court. The court intimidated her family and said that because Ms. Fan defended himself in court, the judge could add another six months to her sentence.
Ms. Jiang Hua, who was arrested at the same time as Ms. Fan, was sentenced to a one-year-and-six-month prison term, and has returned home.
Ms. Gao Mingrui was arrested after she bought a ticket with her national ID card at the train station in the morning of September 28, 2019. The police ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, and a computer. She was taken to the Liaoyang City Detention Center on the afternoon. It was reported that she was sentenced to three years in prison.
Ms. Liu Ying from Hongwei District was arrested in late November 2019. She was tried by the Hongwei District Court at 1 p.m. on July 30, 2020.
Ms. Yang Shujun, 62, lives in Fularji District. There was a sudden power outage in her home on the morning of November 26, 2020. When she opened the door and went out to check the meter, she was arrested by four officers from the Xingfu Police Station.
The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and other personal belongings. She was released on bail after paying a bail of 5,000 yuan.
Ms. Wang Lianbo, 87, was also arrested by officers from the Xingfu Police Station on November 26. She was released on bail after paying 5,000 yuan.
Ms. Bao Guiqin, her daughter Ms. Zhuang Ziyi, and her son-in-law Mr. Fang Hao were arrested.
Ms. Yu Guimin, 64, from Fularji District was arrested by four officers from the Hong’an Police Station on the afternoon of November 26. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and personal belongings. The officers extorted 2,000 yuan from her salary card. She was released at around 4:30 p.m. the following day.
In a campaign across the city starting July and August 2020, the Suihua City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office called or directly visited Falun Gong practitioners, and in other cases instructed community and property management staff to set up surveillance cameras to harass and monitor practitioners.
Wang Shubo, staff member from the Beilin District 610 Office, and other people went to Ms. Yang Xiuyun’s home and harassed her at around 9 a.m. on December 10.
These people went to Ms. Zhu Xiuying’s home at around 10 a.m. that day. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. Li Jianfei, a staff member of the 610 Office, saw a Falun Dafa book in her home and wanted to take it away, but Ms. Zhu’s husband took it back.
Community personnel knocked on the door to Ms. Lu Fengxian’s home on the afternoon of December 15. They took pictures with their cell phones.
