(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Suzhen Dies in Police Station

Ms. Liu Suzhen of Chengdu City was arrested by officers from the Huangwa Street Police Station on December 24, 2018, when she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in Kuanzhai Alley. She died at the police station.

Officers from the Huangwa Street Police Station told Ms. Liu’s family that she suddenly collapsed and died. Her family member was shocked to learn that Ms. Liu was dead when he came to the police station. He asked to review the videotape. The officers showed him, but he did not know if it had been edited or not. When the officers threatened him he dared not ask more questions.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Aili Detained

Ms. Sun Aili of Dalian City was arrested in May 2020. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

3. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Kang Jinxiang Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Kang Jinxiang of Guangling County was taken to the Hunyuan Brainwashing Center by Chai Haibing, secretary of the Huquan Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee on August 26, 2020.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Xie Guangde Detained

Mr. Xie Guangde of Beijing was arrested by officer Zhang Hongbo and others from the Shengli Police Station on April 22, 2020. He is being held in the Liuzhuang Detention Center.

5. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Xinrong's and Ms. Zhong Weiling’s Case Submitted to Procuratorate

Ms. Li Xinrong and Ms. Zhong Weiling, both over 50, were arrested by officers from the Lianyun District Domestic Security Division and police station in mid-August, 2020. Their case was submitted to the Lianyun District Procuratorate.

6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Mr. Sun Shuanhai, Ms. Ma Suping, Mr. Liu Fengting, Mr. Zhang Mingshu, and Mr. Sun Sanlong of Beiqiji Village, Pingshan County were harassed at home by officer Zhou Sanshuan and others from the Sanji Township Police Station on the morning of July 30, 2020. The officers demanded to know if they were still practicing Falun Gong. They requested them to register their phone numbers and photographed them.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Juan’s Husband Harassed

Ms. Wang Juan’s husband received a harassing phone call from the Jianguo Street Neighborhood Office on August 27, 2020. The said they were setting up a file on Ms. Wang and needed her phone number.

8. [Lushan City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhao Huilan and Family Harassed

Ms. Zhao Huilan and her family were harassed at home by agents and officers from the Lushan City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the neighborhood committee in August, 2020. They demanded Ms. Zhao sign three statements. Ms. Zhao refused. They then demanded her family to sign for her. Her family refused.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yao Yuyan and Mr. Song Liang Detained

Ms. Yao Yuyan of Changchun City was arrested at the Heishui Road Market by officers from the Nanfangchang Police Station on August 6, 2020. Her husband, Mr. Song Liang, was arrested at home by officers from the Nanguangchang Police Station on the same day.

Ms. Yao escaped from the police station on the morning of August 8. Mr. Song was detained and transferred to the Changchun City No. 1 Detention Center on August 23. He was first subjected to administrative detention, then 30 days of criminal detention. It was said that he “assisted Ms. Yao to escape” and would be sentenced.

The police have been monitoring Mr. Song and their child’s cellphones, offices, and home.

10. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Gao Abused in Prison, Two Other Practitioners Displaced

Ms. Gao Sulan of Guangling County and Mr. Guo Yuanrong of Wei County were arrested by officers from the Datong City Police Department and the Guangling Police Department on August 30, 2019. Mr. Cai Jinchuan was arrested by officers from the Zhangjiakou City Police Department and the Wei County Police Department on the same day. Charges against them were submitted to the court. Mr. Guo and Mr. Cai have been displaced by the persecution.

Ms. Gao is being held in cell 509 in the Chenzhuang Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was brutally force-fed. She almost died after the third force-feeding. She became weak. The guards refused to let her family visit her.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Huiying Arrested

Ms. Chen Huiying of Shanghai was arrested at home in the early morning hours of July 21, 2020. Police seized her Falun Gong books and other properties.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhou Shuping Arrested

Ms. Zhou Shuping, 57, of Changchun City, was arrested on the morning of August 26, 2020. Six or seven officers from the Chaoyang Police Department and the Hongqi Street Police Station were waiting for her downstairs. They ransacked her home and seized her Falun Gong books. Her husband was taken to the police station with her, but was released that night. Ms. Zhou’s whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Eight practitioners from Xianning City were arrested at Ms. Gong Jingzhi’s home by officers from the Chalukou Police Station on the morning of August 21, 2020. Ms. Zou Zhujiao and Ms. Hong Jingzhi were taken to the police station and held there until 10 o’clock that night. The other six practitioners were released after being registered. The officers seized a picture of Falun Gong's founder.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Niu Guihua Harassed

Ms. Niu Guihua was harassed at home by four agents from the Xindu Neighborhood Committee on the afternoon of August 20, 2020. They photographed Ms. Niu and threatened her to not go out and make trouble for them. Ms. Niu refused to obey.

15. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Shan Jining Detained

Ms. Shan Jining of Yinchuan City was arrested by officers from the Jinfeng District Domestic Security Division on August 22, 2020, when she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She is being held in the Yinchuan Detention Center. Her home was ransacked. Her computer and other properties were confiscated.

16. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Miao and Sister Displaced, Mr. Fan Detained

Ms. Miao Yingqun and her sister, Ms. Miao Xiangqun, were ordered to report to police and sign documents by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on August 21, 2020. Mr. Fan Junyi, the husband of Ms. Miao Yingqun, went there and was detained. The police claimed he attacked them. Ms. Miao and her sister have been displaced. At the beginning of August it was said that Ms. Miao's and her sister's cases were submitted to the procuratorate.

17. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shi Chengjie Sentenced Secretly

Ms. Shi Chengjie of Hegang City was sentenced secretly to five years in prison by the Xiangyang Court on August 7, 2020. She has been imprisoned in the Luobei County Detention Center since August 18, 2020.

18. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Persecution Against Mr. Wang Hongshu

Mr. Wang Hongshu, 63, of Shenyang City, was reported to police by a property owner when he was exchanging truth-clarification currency in a buyback store in the countryside on August 22, 2020. He was taken to the Nanyanghu Police Station. While police were taking notes, Mr. Wang suddenly became paralyzed from the waist down. He was unable to walk.

Mr. Wang was arrested by officers from the local police department in 1999. The police beat him, broke his lower back, and refused to provide treatment. He had to pay for his own metal implant surgery. He was later sentenced to a forced labor camp. While he was detained in the camp, the guards beat him and broke his back implant. As a result, he became paralyzed from the waist down. He could not take care of himself and was bailed out for medical reasons.

Mr. Wang was taken to the Shenyang City No. 8, No. 5, and No. 9 Hospital for a physical exam. All concluded that the end of the metal implant broke open. He was taken to detention centers and houses four times, but none accepted him.

On August 27, 2020, Mr. Wang was released on bail after he was forced to pay 5,000 yuan. He was told that the money would be returned to him in a year, but, if he did anything, his family, even his extended family members would bear the consequences. His family carried him out of the police station.

19. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Mao Dejun’s Case Returned to Police

Ms. Mao Dejun of Junan County was arrested and held at the Chengxi Police Station on August 11, 2020. She was held there for three days, then was formally arrested and taken to the Linyi City Detention Center for a month quarantine by officers from the Junan County Police Department. The Junan County Procuratorate recently sent her case back to the Junan County Police Department.

20. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Xinqing Imprisoned

Ms. Wang Xinqing was detained by the Tongcheng County Police Department in July 2019, citing that she was released on bail more than ten years ago and it was time to close the case. Ms. Wang is being held in the Fanjiatun Detention Center.

21. [Huailai County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Jirong Forced to Flee Home

Ms. Ren Jirong was forced to flee home after officers from the Huailai County Nan Police Station gave her son a deadline, August 28, to bring her to the police station to sign three statements on August 24, 2020.

22. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Wang Benlou, Ms. Jiang Pingtian, and Ms. Jiang Youxiang of Qidong County were arrested by officers from the Bamaochong Police Station and the Buyunqiao Police Station on August 4, 2020, after someone reported them when they spray-painted Falun Gong slogans. They were held first in the Qidong Detention Center, then a Detention House. Ms. Jiang Pingtian and Ms. Jiang Youxiang are being held at the Hengyang Woman’s Detention Center.

23. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xue Yucun’s Home Searched

Ms. Xue Yucun’s home was searched by officers from the Huining Police Station on August 29, 2020. The officers seized a picture of Falun Gong's founder and several Falun Gong books.

24. [Chongqing] Ms. Tian Hong Harassed

Ms. Tian Hong, 44, of Chongqing, was stopped in front of the gate of the property management office by officer Chen Wanlin on August 26, 2020. Chen said that the director of the community wanted to see her and told her to sign three statements.

25. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Huayun Charged by Procuratorate

Ms. Zhang Huayun’s home was ransacked by twenty to thirty officers from the Fuqin Police Station and Internet Surveillance Brigade, and the Jinniu Police Department on April 22, 2020. They seized her notebook computer, tablet, and cellphone.

Ms. Zhang was harassed at home by three officers on August 23, 2020. The officers ordered her to sign the document used for filing a charge against her to the procuratorate. Ms. Zhang refused. The Fuqin Police Station filed charges against Ms. Zhang to the Jinniu District Procuratorate.
