Sept. 13, 2020 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Guizhou Province, China

(Minghui.org) A Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province resident appeared in court on July 23, 2020 for her faith in Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Xiong Guangping was arrested on February 12, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released after being found to have a medical condition, only to be arrested again on September 5, while talking to people about Falun Gong at a bus station. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, some DVDs, and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Most of the items were used as prosecution evidence against her.

Ms. Xiong’s lawyer entered a not-guilty plea on her behalf during her appearance at the Zhongshan District Court on July 23. The judge adjourned the hearing due to insufficient evidence and scheduled another hearing in about a month.
