(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in eight provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wang Yun was arrested at her store by six plainclothes officers on May 26, 2020. They said they wanted to discuss something with her at the police station. The officers confiscated three cell phones and 200 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. Ms. Wang is being held in the Shangqiu Detention Center.
Ms. Huang Yonghua from the Xuhui District was arrested in March 2019 and taken to the Fengxian Detention Center. Her family brought her home on May 12, when she was in critical condition.
Ms. Huang was suddenly informed that she would be tried on June 24, 2020, and did not have time to hire a lawyer. The authorities insisted that she had not been officially released, and refused to provide further information to her family.
Ms. Huang's family was forced to pay a 2,000 yuan fine.
Ms. Wu Cunxian, Ms. Ni Huixian, Mr. Yang Jingbo, and Mr. Li Jiazhou were due to be tried by the Xishan District Court on the morning of July 13, 2020.
Ms. Wu and Ms. Ni were arrested in April 2019. Mr. Yang and Mr. Li were arrested in July 2019.
Ms. Qiu Lin, 37, was reported to the police on the afternoon of July 9, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Chang’an Street Police Station.
Officers from the Baoshenghu Police Station and residential committee personnel in the Yubei District's Huixing Sub-district broke into Ms. Chen Yuzhen’s home on June 1, 2020, and ransacked the place. They threatened her and tried to take photos, but she managed to stop them.
The officers returned to Ms. Chen’s home on the afternoon of July 6, confiscated her Falun Gong reading materials, and tried to force her to sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong.
Ms. Ren Xianglian from the Yubei District was harassed by officers from the Shuangfeng Police Station.
Ms. Fu Xiaoli is being held in the Shenzhen City No. 3 Detention Center.
Mr. Li Yuehu from Gong’an County was arrested by officers from the Zhangtiansi Township Police Station on July 11, 2019, and held in the Gong’an Detention Center.
Mr. Li was sentenced to a one-year prison term. He appealed to the Jingzhou City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original verdict.
Mr. Li's family brought him back home on the morning of July 10, 2020.
Ms. Luo Taixiu, Ms. Deng Wanying, and another practitioner are due to be tried by the Fuji Court on July 13, 2020.
Ms. Wang Yonglian, who works at the Water Resources Bureau, was harassed at home by officers from the Chengli Police Station and agents from the 610 Office in Linqu County on June 25, 2020. She and her family refused to cooperate with them.
Mr. Song Yuliang from Xidahe Village, Wujing Town, Linqu County, was harassed at home by officers from the Wujing police and the Linqu Domestic Security Division on June 29.
Zheng Jiajia from the Anning Village Committee went to Ms. Yu Xiaoling’s home and harassed her and her mother on the morning of July 3, 2020. The women were photographed against their will.
Officer Zhou and two others from the Ande Town Police Station went to Ms. Yu's home again on July 9. They took photos of everything on the property.
Ms. Fu Yanfei was reported to the police on July 7, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Heshun Street Police Station.
Mr. Wang Yusheng from the Chiping District in Liaocheng City was arrested at home by officers from the Qihe County Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of July 6, 2020.
Mr. Li Chengmin was arrested at home by officers from the Qihe Domestic Security Division on the evening of July 8.
The Domestic Security officers also harassed other practitioners in Chiping.
Hu Guangquan, the Changqing Township Party secretary, and others went to Ms. Li Xuejie’s home on the afternoon of June 18, 2020, and asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong.
They threatened that if she continued to practice, her son could not be promoted, and her grandson could not get enrolled in a university. They also threatened to take her to an unspecified place, where they had “all means at their disposal” to see if she would still insist on practicing Falun Gong.
