(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 10provinces, where at least 42 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Zhao Yuzhong, 68, from Jinan City was arrested on December 17, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was held in the Jinan Third Detention Center for seven months, and was released in late June 2020.
Ms. Zhou Liqiong, 73, from Guiyang City was arrested at home by officers from the Guiwu Police Station on March 17, 2020. The officers ransacked the place and took photos throughout her home.
Ms. Zhou was taken to the Yunyan Police Department, where she was handcuffed to a chair and interrogated. When she refused to sign the interrogation document, an officer grabbed her hand and forcibly put her fingerprint on the paper. Officers took her home at around 12 a.m.
Mr. Li Zongze, Mr. Li Lixin, and two other practitioners, all working in Beijing, were arrested at home by officers from the Yongding Town Police Station and the Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 19, 2020.
Ms. Xu Na was arrested at home by officers from the Konggang Police Station and the Domestic Security Division on July 19. The officers went to her home again the next day and ransacked the place.
Ms. Meng Qingxia, 48, and another practitioner were arrested on July 19. Ms. Meng’s home was ransacked, and her computer was confiscated. The two practitioners are being held in the Xicheng District Detention Center.
A practitioner surnamed Lu was arrested by officers from the Nankou Police Station on July 20. Her home was ransacked.
Mr. Wang Yu from Beijing was arrested by officers from the Dongcheng District Police Department on July 21. Six officers from the police department ransacked his home, and confiscated a computer, Falun Gong books, three cell phone, his identity card, keepsakes, U-disks, and other personal belongings. Mr. Wang is being held in the Dongcheng Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Xiuzhen, 68, from Beijing was arrested by officers from the Fengtai District Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the Majiapu Police Station on July 21. They confiscated over 50 Falun Gong books, a computer, printer, and other personnel belongings.
Ms. Liu Huilan’s home was ransacked by personnel from the Jiuhua District Comprehensive Management Office on July 17, 2020. Her Falun Gong books and a picture of Falun Gong's founder were confiscated.
Mr. Duan Zuyong from Jining City has been held in the Jining Detention Center for over six months, and is in isolation. His family is not allowed to send him any money or clothes.
Ms. Yang Haixia was arrested on July 24, 2020.
Mr. Liu Jinbo was harassed at home by village security director Wei Sanbao and Party secretary Wang Qiang on July 17, 2020. They demanded that he denounce Falun Gong in writing and sign it.
Ms. Zhou Guifan was harassed at home by Wei Sanbao and Qi Quan from the Epidemic Prevention Station on July 18. They demanded that she denounce Falun Gong in writing, sign it, and put her fingerprint on it. Ms. Zhou refused.
Ms. Cao Xiuying from Hunchun City was arrested by officers from the Henan Police Station in late April 2020 for distributing Falun Gong fliers. She was released on bail after being forced to pay 5,000 yuan.
Ms. Guo Xiuyan was arrested by officers from the Hunchun Domestic Security Division on June 15 after she was recorded on surveillance camera distributing Falun Gong fliers. She was released the same day.
Ms. Zhang Jun was arrested at home by three officers from the Xiguan Police Station on June 30, 2020. The officers did not show a search warrant. They confiscated a Falun Gong painting, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, informational materials, and several keepsakes. Ms. Zhang was taken the police station and was released after 8 p.m.
Ms. Tang Zhengmin, who has a supplies store in Gaomi City, was arrested by officers from the Furi Police Station.
Ms. Hu Shixin was arrested by officers from the Xiazhuang Police Station.
Ms. Xiao Meizhi from Chengdu City was arrested at home on July 20, 2020. Police ransacked her home, and confiscated Falun Gong books and cell phones. She was taken to a police station for interrogation and released later that night.
Ms. Yao Guizhen and Ms. Wang Qiuju from Shanghai were scheduled to be tried by the Jingan District Court on the afternoon of July 29, 2020.
Ms. Zhang Yue’e was arrested by police officers from Qiqihar City and Daqing City. Her home was ransacked, and many Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated.
Ms. Zhang Aili from Shengli Oil Field was held in the Dongying Detention Center. She was transferred to the Shandong Province Women's Prison on July 13, 2020. Her family has not been allowed to visit her.
Mr. Sun Jianzhong from Tangshan City was arrested in the evening of July 22, 2020. His home was ransacked. His whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Nie Bihua, around 70, from Kunming City was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division in September 2019. She was sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term, and is incarcerated in the Eighth Ward of Yunnan Province Second Women's Prison.
Ms. Zhang Shulian from Longhua County received notification from the Luanping County Procuratorate on July 21, 2020, informing her that they are now in receipt of her case.
Over ten officers from the local police station surrounded Ms. Yu Suhui's home on the evening of July 21, 2020. They monitored her 24 hours a day, and followed her when she went out and worked on farm. They patrolled the area around her home at night. They were stationed there for 4 days and left on the morning of July 23.
Ms. Xiong (given name not known) from Lijiatuo in the Banan District was arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of July 22.
Ms. Xu Yanqiu from Beijing was arrested at home by four officers on July 13, 2020. They confiscated four copies of Zhuan Falun, Falun Gong DVDs, pamphlets, and other personal belongings.
Mr. He Yahuan from Qichun County was arrested at his store around July 10, 2020. He was taken to the Wuxue City Detention Center for 15 days.
Ms. Wang Lijie, over 50, was arrested on July 20, 2020.
Ms. Zhou Yunying was arrested at home by officers from the Yongzheng Police Station and the Jinzhou Police Department on July 22, 2020. They ransacked the place, and confiscated Falun Gong books and over 30 audio players.
Ms. Zhou was taken to the police station for interrogation, and was released later that night. She is now under house arrest.
Ms. Bai Yaqing was arrested on April 4, 2020, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong fliers. Her home was ransacked. She was released on bail for medical reasons after being forced to pay 1,000 yuan.
Ms. Bai was taken to the procuratorate for questioning in early July. She was transferred to a detention center on July 13, but they refused to admit her due to her poor health. Ms. Bai is now under house arrest.
Ms. Bai’s Daughter, Ms. Han Bing, is incarcerated in a prison.
Ms. Han Weifang was arrested at home by officers from Shangshui County in Henan Province, and the Zhoukou City Domestic Security Division on July 1, 2020. They ransacked her home, and confiscated a computer, U discs, TF cards (TransFlash cards), and other personal belongings. Ms. Han is being held in the Zhoukou Detention Center in Henan Province.
Ms. Wang Daiqing from Suining City in Sichuan Province was arrested at her daughter's home in Chongqing by officers from the Henan Province Domestic Security Division. The officers did not provide a search warrant, and confiscated many Falun Gong books, 11 cell phones, two notebook computer, a printer, and several U-drivers. Ms. Wang is being held in the Zhoukou Detention Center.
Ms. Yuan Lianyun from Ezhou City was arrested by officers from the Fozuling Police Station, Wuhan City on July 22, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers on the subway. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books, an audio player, and other personal belongings were confiscated.
Ms. Yuan was taken to the Wuhan First Detention Center for ten days on the afternoon of July 23. Her family has not been allowed to visit her.
Ms. Nie Tiemei from Huaihua City was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Station on the afternoon of July 17, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Over 30 U-drivers, currency bills totaling 1,800 yuan with Falun Gong messages printed on them, and Falun Gong pamphlets were confiscated.
Ms. Nie's family went to the police station to appeal for her release. She was released the next day.
Ms. Li Yulin from Gaomi City was arrested at home on June 17, 2020. The place was ransacked, and a weekly magazine, a copy of Zhuan Falun, and a picture of Falun Gong's founder were confiscated. She was taken to the Xiguan Police Station for interrogation, and forced to sign and put her fingerprint on the interrogation record as a precondition for her release.
