(Minghui.org) Four elderly Falun Gong practitioners in three provinces were arrested and harassed for their faith in July 2020.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Song, 82, is a resident of Sanhe City, Hebei Province. Eight officers harassed her at home on July 20, on the grounds that someone had reported her for distributing Falun Gong related materials in her neighborhood.
One officer attempted to take pictures of and videotape Ms. Song’s home, but was stopped by her. Another officer asked Ms. Song to tear off the Falun Gong posters on her wall. She also refused to comply.
The officers then searched her rooms and took a picture of Zhuan Falun, without taking the book away.
The police returned a few minutes after they left and asked for Ms. Song’s phone number. When she refused to comply, the police forcibly took pictures of her phone address book and then left.
Ms. Li Daiying, also 82, lives in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. She was harassed by eight officers at home on the afternoon of July 20
The officers ransacked her place without showing their IDs or a search warrant. They refused to provide a list of items confiscated from her.
Ms. Wu Yaolun, 79, was buying street food around 9 a.m. on July 26, when two officers suddenly came over and dragged her into a police car. The officers brought her back home and searched her place. Her Falun Gong books and related materials were confiscated. The police then brought her to the Dalianhuasi Police Station and interrogated her until 12 a.m., before asking her son to pick her up.
Ms. Run Fengying, 79, was also arrested on July 26 and had her home ransacked. She has been released at the time of writing.
