(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Officers from the Fengrong Street Police Station, Pulandian District, broke into 74-year-old Mr. Liu Yongguo’s home in the Jinpu New Area and ransacked the place on July 10, 2020. They confiscated a desktop computer, a laptop, a cell phone, a landline phone, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, Mr. Liu's salary card, and about 4,000 yuan in cash.
Mr. Liu was handcuffed and taken to the Wafangdian Hospital for a physical exam. He was released the following day and is now under residential surveillance.
Ms. Wang Guizhen from the Hongqiao District was arrested by officers from the Hedong District Police Department when they talked to people about Falun Gong on the street on July 14, 2020. Her home was ransacked and two computers were confiscated. She is being held in the police department.
Mr. Li Minfu from Wuqing District was arrested by officers from the Nanlou Police Station when he posted Falun Gong stickers on the evening of July 12, 2020. His home was ransacked.
Ms. Li Wenjing, from Shifan Town in the Junliangcheng area, Dongli District, was arrested at her home by several officers from the Dongli Police Station. They pried open her door and broke in, on July 4, 2020. The officers videotaped the process.
Ms. Xu Yingqiong, a teacher of the Laiyuan County No. 2 Middle School, and her husband were on their way home on the afternoon of July 10, 2020. Her husband received a phone call from her school officials. They demanded she fill out a form renouncing Falun Gong. The officials said this was a political task and she had to sign it.
Ms. Wang Lixia, works at the Laiyuan County Transportation Bureau Maintenance Center. She received phone calls, on July 10 and July 12, from Sun Yongfei, a team leader of her workplace, who told her to go to the Legal Division of the Transportation Bureau to sign the guarantee statements not to practice Falun Gong. Sun also told her that signing the statement was tied to her wages. If she did not comply, her retirement procedure could not be completed. Ms. Wang refused to comply.
Ms. Yan Yuanrong from Yongning Town, Wenjiang District, was followed, videotaped, and reported to the police when she distributed Falun Gong materials on June 27, 2020. She was arrested and held in the Gongping Police Station for one day. She was then taken to the Xindu Detention Center for 14 days of detention. She was released on July 12.
Officers from the Mutoudeng Town Police Station, Qinglong County, led by Wang Fangjiang, a Shandong Village accountant, broke into Ms. Zhang Jinxia’s home on the morning of July 7, 2020. They forced her to sign “four statements,” but she refused.
Later, the village Party secretary Hao Ping again tried to talk her into signing the statements, and threatened that if she refused, she would be taken to a brainwashing center.
Ms. Min Ruyi was reported to the police when she distributed information about Falun Gong on May 26, 2020. She was arrested and taken to the Linkuang Town Police Station, where she was interrogated and forced to sit in an iron chair. The police took her blood samples and fingerprints. They also photographed her.
Zhang Shun and Rao, Domestic Security officers, interrogated her. They threatened her, saying that her children would be denied an education and that she and other members of her family would lose their jobs. They told her to sign the detention warrant (15 days of detention), which she refused to do. She was taken home by her relatives after 8:00 that evening.
Ms. Guo Huanxin from Shengfotou Village, Haotouzhuang Township, was found by Li Yawei, a village official, when she distributed Falun Gong materials in Xiaowanglu Village on June 28, 2020. Li took her bicycle and printed materials. She returned home.
Twelve officers from the Jiangjun Road Street Police Station broke into Ms. Tian Huaying’s home and arrested her a little past 6:00 a.m. on July 15, 2020. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. She is being held in the police station.
Ms. Wu Guangqiong was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 9, 2020. She was arrested and taken to the Tongji Police Station, where she was interrogated.
She was then taken to the Lichun Police Station, where she was interrogated again. She was verbally abused by an officer. She refused to cooperate with their demands. She was later brought home by her son.
Mr. Lin Guichen was arrested by officers from the Chayuan Police Station when he talked to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 12, 2020. His home was ransacked and his Falun Dafa books and Minghui Weekly were confiscated.
Six or seven officers from the Yuefeng Police Station went to Ms. Li Weiping’s home and arrested her and her non-practitioner husband on the morning of July 14, 2020.
Mr. Zhang Zhao’s family member received a phone call from the Kuiwen Court on the afternoon of July 14, 2020. The court required Mr. Zhang Zhao’s lawyer to go to the court, before 9:30 a.m. on July 15, to turn in paperwork. Mr. Zhang's trial will be held at the No. 3 Courtroom of Kuiwen Court on July 28.
Ms. Zhao Sumei from Dapang Village, Wangwu Town, Botou City, was arrested by the village officials, and officers from the Wangwu Town Police Station, the Botou City Police Department, and the Cangzhou City SWAT Team on July 14, 2020. Over 10 police vehicles arrived. Ms. Zhao’s home was ransacked and all her Falun Dafa books and two cell phones were confiscated.
Five or six plainclothes officers from the Linqu County 610 Office and the Dongcheng Police Station came to the homes of Ms. Sun Shihua and Ms. Zheng Chengmei in Qianbinhe Residential Community. They used the excuse of qualifying their families for poor households on June 29, 2020. Their real intention was to harass them. They pressured them to renounce Falun Gong, and said otherwise they would send the practitioners to a brainwashing center.
The Changchun City police broke into Ms. Dong’s home and arrested her shortly past 5:00 a.m. on July 15, 2020. Her husband Mr. Liu Changkun also a practitioner, had passed away.
Five or six officers broke in to a female practitioner Xiaohui’s home and arrested her around 5 or 6 a.m. on July 15, 2020. They ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa pictures, over 90 Falun Dafa books, two tablets, three or four U discs, two cell phones, an audio player, and a large ring of keys.
Ms. Dong Yujie from Dongfeng County was arrested by two strangers when she just arrived at the entrance of her building on July 13, 2020.
Ms. Zhang Chun was harassed at home by Wang Peng (a police officer from the Kaifa area) and Qing Weiliang (an officer from the Xiyuan Police Station) on July 14, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and 19 Falun Dafa books, 19 bookmarks, one photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and a laptop were confiscated.
Ms. Zhong Haiyan from Baliwan Town was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong on May 21, 2020. She was arrested and taken to the Mi'ersi Town Police Station. She was brought back by her mother.
Six people, including He Jianping, a residential police officer from Shuangfeng Police Station, Yubei District, and Peng Yan, the residential committee Party secretary, went to the residential community, where Ms. Chen Banghua lives on July 15, 2020. They stopped Ms. Chen and her non-practitioner husband, and harassed them.
They tried to force Ms. Chen to sign the five statements to give up Falun Gong. She refused. They then forced her husband to sign the five statements, and forced her to fingerprint on the statements.
Mr. Li Caiyu received a phone call from a prosecutor from the Zhen’an District Procuratorate on July 8, 2020. He was told to go to the Procuratorate. When he went there, the prosecutor told him that if he continued to practice Falun Gong, they would prosecute his case.
Mr. Li was arrested and his home ransacked by several Yuanbao District police officers on the morning of February 4, 2020. He was released on bail and returned home the following day.
Ms. Sun Zhongli, who is pregnant, was harassed at home by the police on July 11, 2020. In order to avoid further persecution, Ms. Sun left home and became displaced.
Officers from the Zhuge Town Police Station, under the instruction of the Yibin District Domestic Security Division, went to Ms. Wang Wenfei’s home and harassed her on July 15, 2020. The officers took her blood samples and forced her to undergo COVID-19 nucleic acid testing. She was reported to the police when she distributed information about Falun Gong during the pandemic outbreak in February 2020.
A lawyer went to the Jimo Detention Center to meet with Ms. Zhou Yuxiang on the afternoon of July 15, 2020. Around June 6, she received the indictment.
Ms. Zhou is still being held in the Jimo Detention Center, where she was forced to take antihypertensive drugs.
Ms. Fu Yanfei was arrested by officers from the Heshun Street Police Station on July 7, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her case was turned over to the Chaoyang Procuratorate. She was placed in criminal detention and is being held in the Patient Supervision Division in Changchun Central Hospital.
Ms. Zhao Guirong’s home was ransacked by the police on July 15, 2020. Her Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated. Her son was also taken away by the police.
Ms. Lu Yan from Honghuagang District was arrested by officers from the Honghuagang District Domestic Security Division on July 15, 2020. She was given 10 days of detention.
