Falun Gong Practitioners Suffer Health Problems After Being Abused in Custody

July 8, 2020 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Three Falun Gong practitioners serving time at Liaoning Province Women’s Prison for their faith developed health problems after being abused by the authorities.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Fang Hailing, of Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, has served 4.5 years out of her six-year term. Held in the 4th Ward, she was injected with unknown drugs and has become incontinent. She also suffers from a mental disorder and has impaired mobility.

Ms. Zhang Yuhong, of Fuxin City, Liaoning Province, was sent to intensive care after she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. The hospital operated on her twice, but she remains in a coma. The prison authorities are blocking her family from contacting her doctor and have prohibited the doctor from treating her any further. They also demanded that Ms. Zhang's family pay the 100,000 yuan for her medical fees.

Ms. Wu Jinping, of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, developed uterine cancer while detained at the Chaoyang Detention Center. Nonetheless, she was sentenced to seven years in prison. The prison authorities rejected her admission three times due to her condition, but were later pressured by the detention center to accept her. Ms. Wu is suffering from severe vaginal bleeding. She is currently detained in a “strict management” ward and is being monitored around the clock.
