(Minghui.org) The issues raised in the recent Minghui article “Stick to the Basic Facts When Clarifying the Truth on the Internet” are indeed worth our attention. However, since reading the article, I have thought about another related issue.
Young people who've grown up in China today have been taught atheism their entire lives. Very few of them believe in divine beings. Even for those of us who grew up practicing Falun Dafa, we dare not promote gods and Buddha in public. As for myself, I am afraid of being laughed at by my peers. In the past, I saw that some people reacted with sneers and unpleasant words when elder practitioners advised them that reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” can help avert disaster. So when I clarified the truth, I only talked about the evil history of the Chinese Communist Party and how wonderful Falun Dafa is.
In the aforementioned article, the author said we should not talk about anything that is beyond ordinary people's understanding or that conflicts with their notions. However, I do not think we should absolutely avoid talking about higher-level things when clarifying the truth.
As we all know, the situation with COVID-19 is serious. Although people may not believe that reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” could help, we should still tell them about it, as we never know whether they might change their minds and become willing to give it a try when they don’t have any other choice for help or comfort. And I realized that my reservations about telling people about “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” were to protect myself from being scoffed at. I was being selfish.
I now realize that when we clarify the facts to people, we must have correct understandings and strong conviction ourselves – gods and Buddhas do exist, and, in fact, believing in divine beings should be the normal state of a society.
