(Minghui.org) More than twenty police officers surrounded Ms. Huang Ronghua’s home in Beijing at around 11:00a.m. on April 23, 2020, attempting to harass her for her faith in Falun Gong. Upon finding that Ms. Huang wasn’t home, four officers stayed outside of her home for two days, waiting for her. 

Ms. Huang stayed away for a few days to avoid the police. After she returned, her neighbor told her that the police had attempted to scale the fence to get into her yard, but were blocked by the neighbor, who told the police that no one was inside.

Ms. Huang, 63, took up Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline, in 1996. Many of her ailments subsequently disappeared, and she also regained hope in life. 

Due to the tremendous popularity of Falun Gong in China, the Chinese Communist Party ordered a nationwide persecution of the practice in July 1999 and vowed to eradicate it within three months. 

Because she shared with people how she benefited from practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Huang was arrested on June 8, 2002 and given a forced labor camp term without any legal procedures. She was forced to do intensive, unpaid labor and held in solitary confinement for not renouncing her faith. Her health declined as a result of the abuse and some of her ailments recurred.

While she was detained, the local court approved her husband’s divorce request, without her consent.

During the past twenty years, the police have often harassed her and searched her home because of her faith. 

The police attempted to ransack her place on September 5, 2019. When she refused to let them in, they broke in and shoved her to the ground. She hit her head on a chair and suffered severe dizziness. The police released her after the local detention center refused to admit her due to the complications of the concussion.
